Chapter 2: On The Walls
Dixie P.O.V.
The team walked through the door and I had managed to trip over myself already in front of Wally. "Hi, I'm Dixie Grayson. Bruce already had to leave and Alfred is in England visiting his brother so it's just us." I said before Artemis came over and gave me a noogie.
"How are you Pixie Dixie?" she asked using her nickname for me even though she was calling me short. Artemis seemed like the one person that I could trust with my secret, my secret being Acrobat not Robin.
Artemis P.O.V.
There was something off about Dixie and I was determined to figure it out. It was 12 at night when I saw Dixie sneaking out of the house in a grey skirt, black crop top, and black leggings. She had a black duffel bag too. I heard a motorcycle start up and take off. She was too young to drive. I hopped on mine and followed her to a club.
She slid on a purple leather jacket, brown wig, and took off her sunglasses to reveal green eyes. She slid on a pair of purple leather boots and took her keys out of the ignition. The wig seemed significantly shorter than her hair which normally went down past her butt.
She walked past a crowd of people and that was when I knew that I shouldn't have followed.
"Introducing... The Acrobat!" The man announced and Dixie made eye contact with me. Her eyes went wide and her pink lips turned into a frown.
"Hello Gotham city!" She yelled but she didn't have an accent. "It's good to be home." She said after making everyone jump to their feet cheering. She looked over at me and I had gotten to the front of the crowd. Her eyes were filled with worry and she mouthed "I'll talk to you later." The music started and she was energetic as ever.
"I'm writing to ask you; did you achieve all you wanted to do? Before we were dragged up, something was different and nothing was new. How did you see me? We didn't know what we wanted to be. When did we move on? I didn't feel it, nobody told me time to kill. Was always an illusion. Time stood still And now we never will, never will We wrote our names along the bathroom walls. Graffitiing our hearts across the stalls. I've been waiting for my whole life to grow old. And now we never will, never will, and now we never will, never will, and now we never will, never will."
Standing in streetlights, we didn't know wrong, didn't know right. Making a mess and running in circles, getting in fights. We were just kids then, we didn't know how and didn't know when. Taking our chances, calling it off and starting again. Time to kill. Was always an illusion. Time stood still and now we never will, never will We wrote our names along the bathroom walls. Graffitiing our hearts across the stalls. I've been waiting for my whole life to grow old. And now we never will, never will, and now we never will, never will, and now we never will, never will. And now we never will, never will."
"Never will never will We wrote our names along the bathroom walls. Graffitiing our hearts across the stalls. I've been waiting for my whole life to grow old. And now we never will, never will, and now we never will, never will, and now we never will, never will, and now we never will, never will, and now we never will, never will."
That was when I knew who she loved. It was Wally, the red-head speedster who annoyed me every day. How did she know him though.
She had run off the stage and became one with the audience in black flats and jut leggings with her tank top. Her makeup covering her freckles was off and so were her contacts and wig. She pulled me along.
"I think I'm in love Arty. I'm sorry that I didn't tell you that I was your know... her." She yelled about the crowd. I pulled her into a hug.
"I should have known. Jason wrote that song before he died, right?" I asked before she started crying. After a few moments she started laughing. "He was so pissed that I used it." She said giggling.
I knew that Bruce was enemies with Ra's but when Jason was blown up in an accident ten years ago when Dixie was just adopted at age three they put aside their differences. Ra's got to keep Jason and train him until he thought that Jason was ready for the real world. Bruce agreed and Jason hadn't been home since two years ago when Dixie must have just become a singer.
"Why don't you want the recognition? You could be the best singer in the world Dix." I asked shaking her shoulders.
"I'm already famous Arty." Dixie said slipping up.
"Only two people in my life have ever called me Arty, Robin and Wally. Now that I think about it, Robin isn't on this mission and he can't be because you are him!" I said smiling.
"Great, now you get to tell Bruce." Dixie said before I gulped. That meant that Bruce was Batman.
