3RD PERSON POV

8:00 am in Port Hope

Mei got out of the taxi all alone. She got out her luggage from the trunk, tipped the driver, and watched them drive off. Her grandparents had gotten to Port Hope 2 weeks before because the house sitter had a family emergency. She sighed as she missed the presence of her parents

Before Mei's flight to Port Hope. . .

"I wish we could go to Canada with you," Mei's mom said

"But you know we can't just pass on this acting gig," Mei's dad said. He started to pull into the drop-off area at the airport

"I get it, you don't have to keep explaining," Mei said

"Be careful on the flight sweetie and text us when you get there," Mei's mom said

Mei kissed her parent's cheeks before she got out of the car. She took out her suitcase and rolled them over to the sidewalk. She only had a carry on and a backpack. She had clothes in Port Hope already, plus she can wash her clothes

"Bye honey, get us a souvenir. We love you!" Mei's dad sad

Mei waved as she watched her parents drive off. When they were out of sight, she sighed and walked into the airport

End of Flashback

Mei walked up to the front door and knocked. She welcomed in by her grandpa. She immediately let go of her suitcase and hugged her grandpa. She brought in her stuff, closed the door, and said, "Where's Sobo?" She asks. She refers to her parents and grandparents in Japanese while at home. The grandparents she lives with speaking English and Japanese since some of Mei's family on her dad's side moved to America when Mei's dad was 23. She met Mei's mom on the set of a movie. Her mom was the daughter of a wealthy technology business owner in Japan. Since her older brother inherited the business, she went on to become an actress

"She's in the garden," Her grandpa says. "Go put your things in your room. I made tea,"

Mei nodded and brought her suitcase up to her room. When she did that, she rushed downstairs. This was going to be the start of a not so normal vacation
