Accidental Meetings

3RD PERSON POV

July 9, 2016

1:00 pm

Mei got up from her desk. Every day she's in Canada, she writes a journal entry of the day before. She draws pictures and sometimes tapes pictures, or flowers in it to remember the day better. She decided to go get some sweets and go for a walk in the park. She goes through her closet and grabbed a dress

She put it on, looked in the mirror, and grabbed a pink bow. She put her hair in a half ponytail and added the pink bow over where the ponytail was. She did a twirl in the dress and smiled. In the back of her mind, she wondered when's the next time she would, or he would despise the dress. Since she was bigender, there would be times where she would identify as a boy. She would want to be referred to as Mason and wanted to wear a chest binder and baggy clothes or clothes that scream 'dark academia aesthetic'

Mei grabbed her phone, wallet, a book, and walked down the stairs. "Sobo! Sofu!" Mei called out when she reached the bottom of the stairs. "I'm going to the bakery!" She said. She walked into the kitchen and grabbed a picnic basket. She put in her book, phone, and wallet inside the basket

She walked to the garden and saw her grandma tending to the vegetable garden and her grandpa napping in a chair on the porch. She kissed her grandpa's cheek and went over to her grandma. "I'm going to the bakery and maybe the park,"

"Be careful out there and be back by dinnertime," Mei's grandma said as she tended to the plants

"I will," Mei said. She walked back into the house, grabbed the keys to the house, and walked out the front door. She started walking along the street and waved at the neighbors she knew. It took around 15 minutes to get to the bakery

When Mei walked into the bakery, she was greeted by the sweet scent of the pastries. She looked at the counter and was met with a familiar face. "Hi, Mrs. Porter!" She said. Every year she goes to this bakery. It was family-owned and they made the best donuts

"Well, if it isn't Mei Hashimoto. Would you like your usual green tea, cream cornet, and a strawberry donut?" Mrs. Porter asked. She memorized her order because Mei came there every week she was in Canada. Sometimes Mei would stay inside the cafe and other times she would get it to-go and enjoy it in the park

Mei nodded. "Yes, please!" She said with a smile. "Wait, is Biscuit here?" She asked. Biscuit was their dog. They would come out and greet guests. They were a well-trained dog and was friendly to everyone. Sometimes they would come out of the kitchen with a tray on their head

"Oh. About Biscuit. On Monday, he unfortunately passed. But, that's okay, We have a new little pupper at home. Her name is Butterscotch," Mrs. Porter says in a sad tone. She placed a cream cornet and strawberry donut in a small box. She put the box on the counter. Another worker prepared her drink

"I'm sorry for your loss," Mei said. "Maybe I can meet Butterscotch before I leave Canada," She took out her wallet from her basket and got out her cash

"Okay, that will be eleven dollars and seventy-eight cents," Mrs. Porter said

Mei handed Mrs. Porter her money

Mrs. Porter handed Mei her change, receipt, and box. "Your drink will be done shortly,"

Mei thanked her. She put the money and receipt away. She put the box in her basket as she walked to the drink pick up. While waiting, Mei looked at her phone. She looked at the daily news and saw that people were in town filming a movie

The employee handed Mei her drink. "Thank you!" She said to the employees working there. She walked out of the door and started walking to the park. She sipped on her tea as she walked

Mei got to the park and sat down near a tree. She took out her book and started reading. An hour passes and Mei finished reading a few chapters of her book and ate her food and drinks. She stretched a bit as she stood up. She thought it was time to go home

Mei puts her basket on her arm. She continued reading her book as she walked. She had spaced out and after 2 minutes of walking, she bumped into someone walking. She dropped her book. She got back into reality after she heard someone say, "CUT,"

Mei looked around her. She just realized she walked into the set of the movie that was being filmed. She grabbed her book from the floor. The director came up to her. "I'm sorry for messing up the scene, I was just trying to get home," She said

"Hey, it's an okay, kid. Do you mind being an extra in this scene?" The director asked. "My name is Andy Muschiett,"

"U- uh," Mei said. "Sure?" She didn't know what to do, but since he asked her, she felt like she had to agree

"Thank you," Andy said. "I just need you to stand by that tree and when I say 'action' you start walking to the other tree. Take it slow,"

Mei nodded. "Alright," She said. She walked to the tree as Andy walked back to the camera

Andy yelled action and Mei started to walk. She just looked at the road ahead of her. She tried not to trip and was pretty successful. Once she was off-screen, she stopped and let out a soft sigh

She waited there and it took around 5 minutes for Andy to say, "Cut! Take ten kids," He said. He went to review the footage. It was their best take of the day so it was most likely that they wouldn't have to repeat it

Mei sighed. She leaned her head against the tree. She closed her eyes and took in the sun a bit. But it was cut short by a voice

"Hey," A male voice said

Mei looked at the source of the voice. She saw a boy with a fanny pack. "Hi?" She saw some other kids go over to her

"I know everyone here is dressed like this because of the movie. But why are you dressed like that?" He asked. He tried to avoid saying it in a rude way

"Oh, I just like this dress," Mei said. "And today I just felt like wearing a dress like this,"

"It looks adorable on you," A girl said with a smile

"Thank you," Mei thanked with a smile. "What are your guy's names?"

"My name is Sophia Lillis,"

"I'm Jack Dylan Grazer,"

"I'm Finn Wolfhard,"

"I'm Chosen Jacobs,"

"My name is Wyatt Oleff,"

"I'm Jeremy Ray Taylor,"

The last one didn't say anything. He just stayed quiet and looked at Mei

"His name is Jaeden Lieberher," Jack said as she nudged him

"The footage is great, start packing up," A voice said in the distance to the filming crew

"I guess that's my cue to leave," Mei said

"Wait, at least tell us your name," Jaeden said

"Oh, my name is Mei Hashimoto," Mei said. "Maybe we'll meet again someday," She bowed slightly before heading off

Once Mei was out of earshot, Jack turned to Jaeden. "Okay, why did you just creepily stare at her the entire time?" She asks

"I think she's the girl in my dream," Jaeden said. Earlier that day, he had described a very vivid dream he had about a girl

Jaeden's Dream. . .

Jaeden was in a dark room. Slowly, patches of light filmed in the room until he was no longer in a dark room. He was in a cafe. He watched as a girl walked by him. The cafe was empty and she had a sort of glow to her. Like she was the main focus of the dream

The girl ordered something and in a few minutes, she was out the door. He was intrigued, so he started following her. Well, it was more of being forced to follow her since he had no control of his actions

The weird thing was that no matter what he did, he could never catch a glimpse of her whole face. The most he could see was her lips. It was like she was trying to hide it. All he knew was that she had pale hands, she held a brown basket with strawberries painted onto it, she wore a pink ribbon in her hair, and she wore a pastel pink dress with some brighter pink details

Jaeden blinked and suddenly he was somewhere else. He was filming a scene and was about to speak, but was cut off. He saw Andy walk somewhere so he naturally looked at where he was going. He saw the same girl and he could only see her lips again

He blinked and he was now walking around the town. The town had this weird dream-like state were he felt weightless and the moon was huge. The sky was pink and purple, but the sun was still high in the sky. He looked to the road and saw the girl on a bike, riding next to a boy. She stopped her bike and waved at me. She got off and she opened her mouth to speak

He blinked again and now he was at dinner with the cast. He saw the girl walk by. She stops and turns to them. She stays for a bit but turns to leave. His eyes followed her by she passed through a door and seemed to disappear

The next time he blinked, he was celebrating Wyatt's birthday. The girl came in on a bike. She handed him a small basket. It had some sort of red jam, a book, a painting, and a bag of candy. She said something before biking off again

He blinked and now he was on the sidewalk, near a car. He saw the girl and now her whole face was blurred. She wore the same light pink dress she wore at the beginning of his dream. She gave him a hug before stepping back and handing him a piece of paper. The girl waved and he got into the car.
