7 - The angel's weakness

Lucifer woke up just after Castiel and Dean left for their walk through the forest to find Michael was missing from the bedroom. Blinking slowly, he thought that maybe he had gone for a piss but he heard nothing from the room. He immediately sat up and glanced around, confused. When Michael woke up he would usually wake Lucifer up as well, sometimes purposely or accidentally. However, Lucifer couldn't quite understand how Michael managed to disappear so silently. The bathroom door was open so he wouldn't be in there, the bed was empty and cold and the bedroom door was open slightly. He wanted to call out for him but he didn't want to wake Sam and Gabriel next door; so he remained silent. He pulled the blanket away from his body and threw his slippers on, standing upright.

Lucifer began to make his way down the creaky wooden stairs, being more comfortable to call out Michael's name. He called for the angel, but there was nothing; no response or a sound. The two aren't usually apart from each other since they spend so much time with one another that being alone was so foreign to him. He searched all around the cabin for Michael until it was hopeless. Lucifer slumped down on the sofa and curled up with the blanket, waiting for his angel to return.

It felt like hours that Lucifer was waiting for, staring out into nothingness with no one to keep him company. The cabin felt empty without his best friend, no laughs or tears. He jolted up once he heard noise from upstairs, twisting his head only to see that it was Sam, walking down the stairs. He was very disappointed that it wasn't Michael.

He looked at Lucifer with sleepy eyes before smiling softly. "Good morning Lucifer. Did you sleep we-", he was rudely interrupted before he could finish.

"Where's Michael?" Lucifer questioned with panic, gripping Sam's shirt with his balled up fists, their faces only inches away. "I can't find him! He's left me alone with you two fucklets," but Sam looked unamoosed.

He removed Lucifer's hands from his shirt and dusted it down before opening his mouth. "Firstly, me and Gabriel aren't fucklets. We both keep quiet and don't bother you and the missing twat-waffle so I wouldn't know where he is,".

"Twat-waffle, I'll start using that," Lucifer pulled out a small notebook and wrote it down. As he looked up, he saw Michael casually sitting on one of the stools in the kitchen, listening into their conversation without saying a word. "Michael! You're alive!"

"Boo hoo for me then."

Everyone in the cabin was running around, all jittery and excited for the afternoon activity. Lucifer and Michael spent the last two days setting it all up, making sure that there was enough equipment and ammo. Only Lucifer and Michael knew what the activity was, but they began to get annoyed with Gabriel's persistence to know. He would bug them, poke them, whine at them until their ears were on the verge of bleeding. Lucifer came close to duct taping him to a tree and leaving him there for the rest of the camp, but that would be animal abuse. So as an alternative, they locked him in his and Sam's room and refused to let him leave.

But leaving the angel in there with Sam was moose abuse.

"Gabriel, please calm down or I'll shut you up myself," Sam threatened, Gabriel jumping from bed to bed before smirking. Gabriel made more noise and jumped around like a lunatic, knowing it would anger Sam even more. Sam's patience incinerated as he grabbed Gabriel from the collar of his shirt and pinned him against the wall.

Sam's face was inches away from Gabriel's, anger in his eyes. Gabriel went silent within seconds, looking into Sam's eyes. He couldn't help but glance down at his lips, how his teeth captured his bottom lip before it popped out. His eyes met with Sam's again, feeling Sam's anger radiate off of him. He felt his knees grow weak, looking away from Sam's eyes from his intimidation and dominance. Sam quickly grabbed Gabriel's chin and forced him to look into his eyes. Before Sam could open his mouth, he heard a camera snap a picture, his head jerking to the side to see Lucifer holding a camera at them, smirking.

Sam's cheeks grew a dark red and stepped away from Gabriel as Gabe slid down the wall, looking in a daze. "Saving this one for the scrapbook," Lucifer commented, saving the photograph and ran away. Sam ran after him but as soon as he got out the room to follow the devil, he had vanished. He was no where to be seen. He looked so confused but slowly walked back to the bedroom to see Gabriel metaphorically brain dead. He grabbed a cherry lollipop and held it in front of Gabriel's face before he snatched it from his hands and smiled.

Sam helped Gabriel up and smiled at him, before pulling on his jacket. Both of them walked down the stairs to be joined with Castiel, Dean, Michael and Lucifer. "Let's go then boys, the other campers will be waiting,". They all nodded and exited the cabin and walked through the forest to the paintball area. Excited campers waited in a large group and cheered when they saw the leaders emerge from the trees. The other boys stood with the group of kids as they all went quiet to listen to the camp leaders.

"Alright campers, today we are having a game of paintball. Me and Lucifer have already put you all into teams and it's simple. You must eliminate the other teams players until your team is the last standing. We've got the whole forest to use for the game but do not walk out of the boundaries we've set up or else you'll be disqualified from the game. Once you've been shot, please come back here and sit inside the hut. Get your gear and head towards the forest," Michael explained whilst Lucifer demonstrated how to put on the paintball gear. Showing how to load the gun, how to shoot and what to do when shot. The campers rushed in to get their stuff before running away. Castiel, Sam and Michael were on a team and Dean, Gabriel and Lucifer were on a team. They all stayed in their land and waited, they waited for the siren.

After a few moments, the siren went off and the game begun.

Dean hid in the trees as Lucifer and Gabriel pressed forward. He kept himself well hidden in the leaves and shot those who came past. He was able to shoot at least five people from the opposite team, all of them looking puzzled when they weren't able to find the shooter. Dean was the sniper in the group, stealthy and lethal; shooting anything that moved. He finger was wrapped around the trigger but didn't shot the person who walked past, he couldn't bring himself to shoot Castiel. He pitied Castiel, he looked confused and lost, but most of all lonely. He saw that Castiel had sat behind a bush but he never came out from behind the bush. He knew he was still there, he could see his black hair peeking up from behind the leaves. He quietly jumped down from the tree and slowly approached the bush. His finger on the trigger, his breathing steady, licking his dry lips. He slowed his pacing and held his gun up, ready to fire. He jumped as he felt a sting in his back as Castiel stood up and shot him dead centre in his chest. Dean fell to his knees to see Michael standing behind him, smirking at Castiel before giving him a high five.

"One down, two more to go," Castiel whispered, seeing Sam sitting where Dean was, hunting down either Lucifer or Michael. "Sam, you go get Gabriel, me and Michael will get Lucifer." Castiel dismissed them as they vanished off into the forest as Dean walked back to the safety of the hut.

Castiel and Michael wandered around together as a team, trusting Sam to go end Gabriel. However, the brothers knew how good Gabriel was at sneaking up on people and taking them down. They both had no luck in finding Lucifer, knowing that Lucifer would be the hardest to track down. They shot anyone of the opposing team, slimming down the chances of an ambush. There isn't many left to find on both sides of the teams as it was Michael, Castiel and Sam against Gabriel and Lucifer. Though there were only two of them left, they knew how to act as a team. If Castiel thought himself and Michael were good, then he hasn't witnessed Gabriel and Lucifer's tactics.

They kept low to the ground, searching through the forest. Castiel stopped for a moment and stood still, hearing commotion coming from the West. They both crept up to whoever was left, aiming their guns. They hid behind a tree trunk as Michael poked his head out. He saw two sets of legs, one set of legs struggles as there was flailing. They both looked up as Castiel saw Lucifer in the distance, absolutely shocked. He was frozen but not because of Castiel and Michael. They both looked at each other, confused, as they got up and slowly walked over to see what all the fuss was about.

Both their mouths hanged open as soon as the came around the tree. Sam was on top of Gabriel, holding his hands above his head as his lips were firmly on his. Sam's gun was out of reach as the two made out under the tree that had been splattered with paint.

"Sam what are you doing?!" Michael screamed, before Sam pulled his lips away to look at Michael.

There's one thing I wanted to point out to you guys. Though I call them angels and the devil, that doesn't mean they are actually angels! It's just a name! This is a human!camp AU, they are not angels in any shape, form or way.
