10 - Distorted
Castiel woke up like it was any other day; opening his eyes and looming over at Dean Winchester. His emerald eyes covered by his eyelids and a few strands of hair, his mouth slightly open as he quietly breathes in, then out. It was like an angel laid on that uncomfortable mattress and cheap duvet, but Castile knew he shouldn't stand around and stare in case he got caught. But yet he struggled to do so, his eyes were glued to the gentleman in the bed, the room semi-dark with the sound of water pattering on the window lightly. Sometimes the sound of thunder would cause Dean to stir ever so slightly, to which Castiel would turn away quickly and pretend to be asleep, but notice that he was dreaming away deeply and calmly.
It wasn't the best day at the camp, there had been a storm for a few days but today was seemingly the worst. Every activity had been cancelled due to the extreme winds and high amounts of rainfall, not to mention the thunder and lightning that towered over the camp site. Rarely would some kid run past the dorms but that was purely to escape the storm, other than that, the camp remained mostly silent. There was no matching of little kids singing cringey camp songs as they walked, no screaming of delight in the distance, even the birds were dead quiet, the drop of a pin would of disturbed the true silence in the cabin.
On the other side, Gabriel huffed in annoyance, boringly watching the rain fall from the sky as Sam grabbed a book and read through it, ignoring most of Gabriel's childish remarks. Gabriel would occasionally get up, pace around a few times before returning to his post, almost expecting the rain to just magically vanish within thin air; but that wasn't the case.
"Sam, how would yo-" Gabriel tried to break the silence, but his efforts were out matched.
The door to their dorm was swung open, hitting the wall with a mighty force that it most likely left an indent. Stood directly in the centre of the doorway was Lucifer, hair dripping with what assumed to be water, panting heavily with a massive grin on his face. "Like to go play in the rain?! That is a brilliantly idea Gabriel!" He walked in, leaving footprints behind him. "It wasn't like I was listening in or anything, but I think we should make the most of this terribly day and go and play in the rain!"
"I'll pass," grumbled Sam.
Both boys whine in annoyance, throwing an almost identical tantrum. "But Sam, the rain is so much fun! It doesn't have to be boring," Lucifer tried to convince him out of his solitude prison that was his story; but he just shook his head. "Fine, we'll just grab the other guys and they'll come play with us, feel free to join us if you feel like it Sam." But all he responded with was just a simple nod.

Lucifer was right, the dismal day had a drastic turn around as the five boys enjoyed the storm. They all splashed each other, kicking up the water from puddles and even some pushing others into the lake. Micheal grabbed some water guns and buckets, and by the time he returned with the buckets they were half full, so it made the filling of the guns more convenient. They all filled the land with echoes of fun and laughter.
"Guys, I have a idea," shouted Lucifer, "Let's all hide, Dean you can be the seeker with the gun and you gotta find us and shoot us! First one shot is on for the next round," and everyone seemed on board with the idea. So Dean snatched up a gun and loaded it, giving the boys two minutes to hide within the radius of the lake and around the dormitories. Once finished counting, he turned with a devilish smirk and began his hunt. He decided to check around the lake around first, scanning through the trees, before glancing into the lake. He knew that no one was stupid enough to dive into the lake to hide in, because eventually they would need to surface for air. So, he pressed on.
He trekked up towards the main cabins, doing a run around each one to make sure they weren't there, but none of them were to be found. The day was growing increasingly darker, bolts of lightning barely lighting up the path. He got turned around a few times, losing a sense of direction, but he say the cabin he was staying in up on the hill, the light from Sam's room was turned on but only on a dim setting; he must of taken a nap.
Dean rubs his way up towards the cabin, he knew they all had to be around that area. Another bolt of lightning flashed in the sky followed by a strange and unrecognisably sound, but Dean knew he couldn't be distracted by what he heard. He slowly climbed up and kept himself low, concealing himself within the bushes and nature. Out the corner of his eye, he noticed the front door swing open, followed by someone running with incredibly speed down the hill, to which Dean emerged out and attempted to follow. But before he could go any further, he found all the boys, hidden under all the furniture in the patio: there was Castiel, Micheal, Lucifer; yet no Gabriel.
"You guys lost," chuckled Dean, squirting them all with the water followed by squirming. "Where's Gabriel? Don't tell me he cheated and hid in the cabin," Dean rolled his eyes and looked at them.
"Gabriel hid near the lake, the only person in the cabin was Sam," replied Lucifer with confusion.
"Then who was that who ran out the door?" Dean turned and looked at the door, slightly agar. He dropped the gun and bolted into the door, not caring about the fact that he was dragging water all through the cabin. He ran up to Sam's room, to see that he was no longer to be found. He glanced around, nothing seemed out the ordinary. His book was placed on his bed, Gabriel's side was a mess; there was no reason for Sam to leave so suddenly and in a frantic way. The other boys had made their way up to the room as well, looking just as confused.
"Dean? Why is that in here?" Michael spoke, coming forward and picking up what seemed to be an old style phone. "This is meant to be kept in my room, it's only used for communication across the campus,"
"Why would Sam have it in his room?" Castiel puzzled him, glancing around.
Michael dialled the contact number that was used, pacing around. Eventually someone had picked up, reporting back to him the day's events. Everything seemed normal, nothing out the blue, so the boys kept looking. They checked all over the cabin, looking for Gabriel increase he came back to hide.
A thud came from the room of Sam's and Gabriel's, followed by Michael sprinting down with wide eyes. "Woah chill Mike, what's wrong?" Lucifer stood in the way before Michael could run out the door.
Dean and Castiel looked over at the two boys, both shocked at what Michael had said, however Dean nor Castiel heard. They just followed.
They followed until they could see blue and red lights in the distance, with bolts of lightning shining up the way.
