9 - Mountain View

Week 2/4, Day 8 - Monday

"My god this was a bad idea."

"You're just lazy."

"Oh shut up Samantha."

Sam just smirked at him. He's learning from me, Gabriel thought.

Today was a hike up the mountain coincidentally right near them. Or maybe Michael and Lucifer just chose a good place for a camp, but it seemed more likely to be a coincidence.

Dean and Cas were up ahead, talking to each other. And standing a little closer than friends would.

Gabe nudged Sam and pointed at their brothers. Sam laughed.

"They are so blind," Sam said.

"Cassie isn't," Gabe said. "He just...I don't know, his brain works weirdly."

"Most peoples do," Sam said, shrugging. Gabe gave him a curious look, but shrugged it off.

They continued walking up the mountain. The path was rocky in most places, and if some idiot fell of the edge they'd probably die.

Michael and Lucifer just seemed to be waiting for something though, so maybe the hike would be worth it.

The path started to get rockier. As in, they actually had to climb up the side of rocks.

Gabe climbed up one of the rocks, then looked behind him to see Sam glaring at the rock.

"I hate being short," Sam muttered. Gabe smiled softly and reached a hand down to help Sam up.

"It's got it's upsides," Gabe said as Sam grabbed his hand and got up the rock.

"Like what?"

"You can sneak around places easier."

"True...but that's what you do."

"Yeah and I'm actually pretty short. My younger brother is taller than me."

Sam smiled at that. "Hey maybe I'll be taller than you one day."

"In your dreams," Gabe scoffed.

"Well if you were in my dreams...I don't think I'd be caring about height."

Gabe stopped for a moment and looked at Sam, who was smirking slightly. It was very small but yeah he was implying something.

"My god I'm a bad influence on you," Gabriel said.

Sam just laughed and kept walking, leaving Gabe to run to catch up.

Sudden skip to Destiel.

"Lazy assbutt," Cas said as Dean stopped again.

"I'm not lazy, I just don't exactly climb up mountains very often," Dean said.

"Sure," Cas replied. He passed Dean a water bottle which Dean happily took, and then they kept walking.

Cas looked out at the view from the mountain. They'd gotten high enough that they could see the camp site down below them, the lake, the forest. As well as the beach in the distance.

"Can we see Baby yet?" Dean asked. "I always hate leaving her for a month."

"Who?" Cas asked.

"My car," Dean said. "67 Chevy Impala. I left her in the parking lot, no one's going to steal her from there..."

Cas smiled fondly at Dean. "You really care about the car huh?"

"She is not just a car," Dean protested.

"Okay," Cas said. "You call her Baby?"

Dean nodded, looking down to where the camp was and trying to see his car. "I'm going to go check on her when we get back."

Cas nodded, and so they continued walking.

Michael and Lucifer were up ahead in front of everyone, leading them to their death.

"No we're not," Michael said, exasperated. Lucifer just smirked.

"We totally are," he replied.

Michael just sighed. "I could push you off this mountain you know."

"If I fall, you're coming with me."

"Sure."

"You really want to test that again?"

Michael glared. "You broke my arm last time."

"You tried to test the theory," Luci said, shrugging innocently. Michael rolled his eyes and looked away, and Lucifer smiled slightly at him. Yeah he kind of did put Michael's life in danger quite a lot. But how else is Satan supposed to show his love?

"Hey," Michael said, his eyes brightening. "Look." He ran forward around the corner of the mountain. Luci followed, to find the waterfall they'd been waiting for.

They were at the bottom of the water falling from vertical rock wall. Where they stood was kind of a small lake which turned into a river down the rest of the mountain which wasn't as steep.

The rest of the campers walked around the corner and saw the little waterfall and lake, some of them looking relieved at the chance to stop and rest.

"Okay guys, we're stopping here for a while," Michael called out, walking over to the small lake. It was only about half a metre deep, so Michael slid his shoes off and stepped in, then looked over at Lucifer.

Lucifer smiled and did the same, stepping into the cold water. And then started the war of each of them trying to push the other over in the water.

"I swear half the things on this camp are just so they can have fun," Dean said, sitting down on a rock with his feet in the water, taking a water bottle from Cas.

"Probably are," Cas said. "But hey, we have fun don't we?"

"Yeah," Dean replied, watching as Sam and Gabe sat beside them. Well, Gabe sat beside them, Sam pushed Dean off the rock and into the water.

Dean sat up in the shallow water, spluttering. "Bitch."

"Jerk," Sam replied, smirking.

"Gabriel you bad influence."

"I didn't do anything," Gabe said, holding his hands up in surrender.

"You didn't have to," Cas said, helping Dean out of the water. Even though Dean didn't really need help.

Gabe shrugged and stepped into the water. "Sammy?"

Sam smiled and stepped into the lake beside Gabriel. Then proceeded to kick water into Gabe's face.

"Okay maybe I was a little bit of an influence," Gabe said, then started a water splashing war with Sam.

"Dean?" Cas said, watching Dean watch his little brother.

"Sam hasn't been this happy in years," Dean said softly.

"But you don't trust Gabriel," Cas said, watching Dean's expression carefully.

"Of course I don't, people were nice to Sam before and that didn't exactly end well."

"Trust Gabriel," Cas said. "He wouldn't do anything to hurt Sam."

"You can tell how people feel and think, right Cas?" Dean said, turning to face Cas. "Look me in the eye and tell me, will I trust him?"

Cas looked at Dean carefully. He was right, Dean wouldn't trust Gabriel. Not if it would put Sam at risk.

"If not now, then one day," Cas said. "I mean, if..."

"If what?"

"Well if you never see us again after this camp, then what use is there in trusting him?"

Dean flinched. "We'll see you guys after this though, right?"

"Do you ever see Michael or Lucifer outside of the camp?"

"Well no, they live too far away..."

"Dean we live near them. And you won't be coming back to the camp, you'll be too old. Gabriel won't be allowed to come either, with his last year of school."

Dean glanced over at Sam and Gabe, smiling and laughing. "Well then," he said after taking a breath. "Better make it a good few weeks."

Back to good old Michifer we go.

They had both succeeded in not falling into the water despite the others attempts...then Michael tackled Lucifer.

Lucifer fell backwards, Michael landing on top of him, both causing a big splash. Lucifer sat up immediately, laughing...then realized Michael was essentially sitting in his lap. Michael was laughing and running a hand through his wet black hair. Then he too noticed how they were sitting and looked at Lucifer.

They were maybe a few inches away from each other, neither of them moving while looking into the others eyes. Michael's eyes were wide, he looked almost in shock. Lucifer gulped, which brought Michael back to the real world.

"I..um..." Michael moved back and stood up quickly. "I think we've been here long enough." He turned and walked away, before Lucifer could see the blush spreading. Except this time Lucifer did see it.

"Mikey," Lucifer said slowly. "You—"

"Forget it Luce."

Lucifer flinched and Michael kept walking away.

"You'd think you would be the mean one," Dean said, "what with you being Satan and all."

"Shut up Dean."

"Okay," Dean said, getting the message and walking away with Cas.

Luci stood up slowly and got out of the lake, starting to follow the rest of them up the mountain.

It didn't take much longer to get to the top of the mountain. As in the very, very top.

"Holy shit this view," Gabe said, slowly his walking to a stop. Sam beside him had wide eyes as he looked down the mountain too.

"Don't fall guys," Michael called out. "You are allowed on the rocks over there, but seriously, you fall you die."

Gabriel looked over at the rocks Michael was talking about. They were massive things...sticking out from the edge of the mountain and over the void.

"Sam?" Gabe asked, gesturing to the rocks. Sam smiled and ran over to them, Gabe following. Gabe climbed up onto the tallest one, looking down at the view. They could see everything from up here, the rest of the mountain, the forest, beyond the forest, and beach. Everything looked so small too...almost as small as Sam looked trying to climb up the rock.

"You okay there Sammy?" Gabe teased, Sam giving up at climbing up.

"Shut up," Sam muttered. Gabe climbed down.

"I'll give you a boost," Gabe said, linking his hands together for Sam to stand on. Sam gave him a thankful look, and managed to get up on the rock with Gabe's help. Gabe climbed back up and sat beside Sam, looking out at the amazing view.

"This is amazing," Sam said quietly.

"Yeah, it really is," Gabe said.

On a rock lower than Sam and Gabe's, Cas and Dean walked out, right to the very edge. Dean sat with his feet hanging off a hundred metre drop.

"Dean are you sure that's safe?" Cas asked.

"Nope," Dean replied, swinging his feet slightly.

"You really shouldn't be right on the edge."

"Oh come on, live a little."

"That's not living, that's severely close to dying."

Dean sighed and stood up, walking away from the edge. "Fine Cas. If it'll make you worry less."

"Yep," Cas said, relieved. "You've seen this before, haven't you?"

"Yeah," Dean said, looking at the view. "It never fails to amaze me though."

"I can see why."

Dean sighed. "You know, I'm really going to miss this place. I was trying not to think about this being my last time, but since you mentioned it..."

"I'm sure Michael and Lucifer would let you come back," Cas said. "Maybe to help with the activities."

"I hope so," Dean said, brightening. "Which means I might be able to see you again." He said it without thinking, then immediately shut his mouth. Cas just smiled slightly, still looking at the view.

And back to Michifer we go.

Michael was standing on one of the rocks, arms crossed, looking at the view.

"Michael," Lucifer said, walking up behind him.

"Hm?"

"Are you...okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine. Sorry for falling on top of you and everything."

"It's fine," Lucifer said, internally sighing. Of course Michael would pretend nothing really happened.

"Hey Luce," Michael said. "What do you think about letting Dean work here?"

"What, why?"

"I overheard him and Cas talking. It's Dean's last year here."

"Damn, it's gonna be weird without him."

"It also breaks up your ship."

Lucifer was silent for a moment. "No. We're bringing Dean and Cassie back, end of story."

Michael smiled. "Do they have any choice in the matter?"

"Nope."

Michael laughed. "Maybe you should just try to get them together before the camp ends."

"Oh they're doing that on their own. It's great." Lucifer pointed to them standing next to each other. "Sam and Gabriel too."

"Guess you're good at pairing people," Michael said. "Anyone else you ship?"

Lucifer was silent for a moment. "Maybe."

"And who would that be?"

Us, Lucifer thought but didn't say out loud. "People."

"That's somewhat suspicious," Michael said. "You ship yourself with someone, don't you?"

Lucifer looked away. "Maybe."

"And you haven't told me? Offended."

"Maybe one day," Lucifer said. "Let me silently fangirl over my ship for now."

"No I am definitely getting this out of you."

You might not like the answer, Luci thought, sighing to himself. Michael seemed to sense his sudden upset attitude and his gaze softened, and put an arm around Luci in comfort.

"Don't worry," Michael said. "I'm sure it'll work out."

Lucifer just winced. "Yeah, I hope so."

So...I'm excited for the next chapter :D Anyone wanna guess why? :P

So this whole mountain thing, based off the hike we went on in year 8 camp. The place was called the Grampians or something, and the view was seriously amazing. I tried to find a picture of where we were, but all the pics were from other places. Oh and when we went there the mini waterfall and lake weren't working because, there was literally one drop of water.

I went back to school this week. I was done with it before I even got there. And I am seriously regretting doing advanced science.

But anyway :) *gives everyone rainbow sprinkles* ...I don't even know xD
