1 - And So Begins the Summer
Day 1 - Monday
"Come on Sammy, it'll be fun."
"Says you."
"You've never been before, I have. Besides, Dad's busy these holidays, we may as well do something with our time."
"Yeah but why a camp?" young Sammy Winchester muttered. Sam, currently 14, would much rather spend his summer holidays reading and being antisocial. Such was his life. His older brother Dean, 18 years old, had instead forced him to go to the annual summer camp he always went to, since Sam was now old enough.
"Sam at least try and have fun," Dean said. "If within a week you still don't want to be there, then we can leave. It's not like a prison or anything."
Sam sighed but gave in, climbing into the passenger seat of the Impala. Dean smiled before starting the car and the long drive to the secluded location of the camp.
"Dean you know how I feel about meeting new people," Sam muttered about an hour into the drive.
Dean sighed and gave his brother a sidelong look. "Look Sammy. I know how you feel about that, but that doesn't mean it's good for you. You need to stop pushing everyone out. Make some new friends. Or at least a friend. Please."
"So it can end up like last time? How about no."
Dean sighed and focused on driving again.
Sam was...not the most open person in the world. In fact he usually didn't even talk to anyone outside his family. Due to his quiet and innocent nature, people hadn't exactly been too nice to him in primary school. This took a bit of a toll on poor Sammy's mind, and now he blocked out most people to avoid feeling the pain again.
Dean knew what Sam had gone through, and tried to help. But Sam refused help. He was hoping that maybe the change of scenery and people at the camp would help him out, even if it was just a little bit.
~~
"Gabriel what's taking so long?"
Silence.
Castiel sighed and walked upstairs to where his older brother was still sleeping.
"Gaaaabriel. Get up."
"Nah," Gabriel muttered into his pillow. Cas glared and then shoved Gabe out of the bed. Gabe yelped as he hit the ground, then looked up at Cas. "What do you want?"
"Camp. Today. Luci invited us remember?"
"Oh shit that's today."
Cas just walked out of the room as Gabe jumped up and tried to get ready.
Castiel was 16, and Gabriel was 17, both younger brothers of Lucifer who was 21. Their dad was Chuck Shurley, even though the brothers had the last name Novak.
"Okay I'm ready," Gabe said, running downstairs with his bags. "How are we getting there?"
"You're driving us..."
Gabe was silent for a moment. "I'm only 17."
"Yeah I know," Cas said before shrugging. "No one will care. Besides, we're already late. We don't have time to organize a legal ride."
Gabe shrugged too and walked out to the car, throwing his bags in the backseat.
And so, their long drive began too.
"Cassie, wanna make a bet?" Gabriel asked at some point.
"What bet?"
"Will Michael and Lucifer get together this summer? I think they will."
Cas just raised an eyebrow at Gabriel. "They've said it a million times, they're just friends."
"Pft. They're totally gay for each other. I bet fifty dollars on it."
"You're on."
~~
"You look like you're plotting."
"Yep."
"Are you trying to get your ships together again?"
"Yep."
"Who is it this time?"
"Dean and Castiel."
Michael just gave Lucifer a weird look. "They've never even met."
"Shhh," Lucifer said, putting his hand on Michael's face and pushing him away. Michael just shoved Lucifer and looked at the cabin planning that they totally hadn't left to the minute.
Michael and Lucifer ran the summer camp. Originally it had been passed down Michael's family, and Lucifer was invited to help him since they were pretty much inseparable.
The camp was located kind of in a forest, and was made up of several cabins spread around. They always 'randomised' who would be in the cabins. Meaning they wanted to get their ships together.
"Well Dean is bringing his little brother isn't he?" Michael asked. "What's his name again?"
"Sam," Lucifer said, looking at the list. "They'll probably want to stay together."
"So how about Sam, Dean, Castiel and Gabriel all in the same cabin?"
"That works. Also means we can say we just wanted to keep the brothers together as an excuse."
"Wait...what?"
Lucifer smirked slightly. "Sam and Gabriel...come on, they'd be adorable."
Michael just shook his head at his best friend. "You're an idiot."
"I'm adorable."
"You're literally satan."
"What, satan can't be adorable? Where's your inner satanist?"
Michael just laughed and shook his head again.
~~
Dean pulled the car into the parking lot while Sam death stared his surroundings. They got out of the car without a word and grabbed their bags to walk along the rocky path towards the campsite.
"Is there internet here?"
"Nope. Sorry Sammy."
"You couldn't have mentioned that before?"
Dean smirked. "You never would've come."
"That's the point," Sam muttered.
"Come on, cheer up. You like the stars right? Well there's a great view of them out here."
Sam brightened slightly at that, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
They finally reached the campsite, and Dean led Sam to the main hall where everyone was waiting.
"Dean!"
The Winchester's looked to see a blond guy with blue eyes waving and running over. "You're late."
"You need everyone to be late though," Dean said. "Considering you always leave cabin planning until the day."
The guy laughed. "Absolutely true."
"Sammy, this is Lucifer," Dean said softly to Sam, who had shuffled behind Dean. "He runs the place with Michael."
"Don't worry Sammy, I'm not actually satan," Lucifer said, seeing Sam's unease.
"Coulda fooled me," a black haired guy said, walking up to them. He had hazel green eyes. "Hey Dean."
"Michael, still ignoring the obvious truth?"
Michael rolled his eyes. "There's no truth to ignore."
"Stop blowing holes in my ship," Dean said, and Michael just sighed.
"Stop shipping us, we're just friends."
"Sure you are," Sam said, smirking.
Michael just looked at him while Dean high fived him.
"We should probably get this thing started," Michael said, giving up. Lucifer nodded and they walked up to the front of the crowd of people.
"Ok humans!" Lucifer yelled, getting everyones attention. "Some of you know how this works, some of you don't."
"Basically, from here on out, you follow our rules," Michael said. "Which isn't hard considering there aren't many."
"Rule 1," Lucifer said. "No fighting, no injuring, no torturing, no murder."
"Rule 2," Michael said. "Stay on the campsite unless you have permission to leave. Seriously, people have died out in that forest."
"Rule 3," Luci said. "Keep the destruction to a minimum. If you destroy something, we'll make you fix it."
"Rule 4," Michael said. "If we tell you to do something, you do it. No questions asked."
"Rule 5," Lucifer said while Michael gave him a weird look. "Worship me."
"That's not an actual rule, but feel free to do so," Michael said. "Luci may possibly try to force satanism on you guys."
"Anyway," Lucifer said. "First thing, cabins. You left your stuff at the doors, and the staff are currently dragging peoples stuff to random cabins."
Sam gave Dean a frightened look.
"Don't worry," Dean said. "They just say that. They actually plan out the cabins, and they would've put you with me."
Sam nodded, relieved.
"Second," Michael said. "Activities. The activities are pretty much open at all times to anyone who wants to do them, it's not really strict. There are some scheduled things which will be written up on the board in here."
"Third," Luci said. "Food. You come here for food when we call. We will not feed you outside of those times. Don't blame it on us if you starve."
"Okay, names are on cabin doors," Michael said. "Go find your cabin, settle in, explore, dinner is in a couple of hours."
They left, and everyone dispersed to the cabins outside, trying to find theirs. Dean walked to a secluded one at the end immediately and Sam noticed they were both in it.
"How did you know?" Sam asked.
"This is pretty much my cabin," Dean said. "They always put me in here. Also says we're with Castiel and Gabriel Novak."
"Who are they?"
"Well if they're Novak's, then that means they're Lucifer's brothers," Dean said. "Come on, choose a bed before they get here."
Sam walked into the log cabin. There was a main room with a fireplace and couches, a bathroom, and two bedrooms, each with single beds.
Before they could do anything, the door burst open and two arguing people came walking in.
"Seriously, it's like he's trying to torture me."
"Wow Cassie, I feel so loved. What's so bad about hanging with me for a summer?"
"Hmm let's see...everything. You're annoying."
"Such a clever excuse."
"It's not an excuse, it's a reason. I put up with you all year, can't I avoid you for one summer?"
The two seemed to notice the Winchester's in that moment, falling silent to look at them.
The two boys were about the same height, the black haired one being slightly taller. He had bluer than blue eyes, it was almost creepy.
The slightly shorter one had golden hair and golden eyes, a lollipop in his mouth and a mischievous grin.
"Name's Gabriel," the golden haired one said. "You must be Sam and Dean."
"Yeah," Dean said. "I'm Dean, the short ones Sam." Sam glared. Yeah he was short, but he knew he'd get taller soon.
"I'm Castiel," the black haired boy said. "I'm the younger one here...surprisingly."
"Really?" Dean asked. "How old are you guys?"
"I'm seventeen, Cassie is sixteen," Gabriel said.
"I'm 18, Sam's 14," Dean said.
"Ok...does this Sam person talk or...?" Gabriel asked. Dean glanced over at Sam who decided the floor was interesting. "Hey it's fine if he doesn't, I was just wondering. I shall communicate through candy." Gabe pulled a sucker out of his pocket and threw it to Sam, who managed to catch it. Sam glanced up at Gabriel and smiled as a thank you. Dean looked at Gabriel in surprise.
"So, there's four beds," Castiel said. "Two rooms...please don't make me stay with Gabriel."
Dean winced. "Well...this is a bit of a problem," he said, looking at Sam.
"It's fine Dean," Sam said, looking at the sucker with interest.
"Oh my Chuck he spoke," Gabriel said. "Such a rare occurrence must be recorded. Wait it already passed. Damn."
Sam laughed quietly as Dean gave Gabriel a weird look. "Oh my Chuck? What?"
"We have an ongoing joke in our family that Chuck is god," Castiel explained. "Chuck is our dad. I don't even know, don't ask me why."
Dean just smiled. "So do you mind being with Gabriel Sam?"
Sam shook his head and Gabriel smiled brightly.
"Great, just don't steal my lolly stash," Gabe said, and then walked into one of the rooms, flopping onto a bed. Sam dragged his stuff into the same room before walking out again.
"I'm going to explore," he said quietly, before leaving the cabin.
"Thank you for saving me from the torture known as Gabriel," Castiel said as him and Dean walked into the other room.
"No problem, just so long as he's good to Sam."
"He will be, he's actually kinda protective of people like Sam."
"People like Sam?"
"I do psychology, I can tell," Cas said. "I think you did good by bringing him here."
"I hope so," Dean said. "I really do hope so."
~~
And so begins another fanfiction :D Oh I have so many plans for this. Including the ending.
I also accidentally made Sammy's condition a bit like mine...hmm should be interesting.
To anyone new here, this is my thing for every chapter --> *gives everyone pie*
