The sorting hat
When judgement day is upon us he shall rise and sort the worthy from unworthy.
John's p.o.v.
"John Watson!" Professor Dumbledore called out. My entire body seemed to become frozen. Pushing the jitters away I walked to a chair in the middle of the platform. My hands started to sweat. I wiped my palms on my trousers. What if the hat decided that I don't belong here? What if Sherlock and I were separated? What is my housemates don't like me? I pushed the worried thoughts out of my head. I sat in the chair and an old patched up hat was placed on my head.
"Hmmm difficult. Wouldn't want to separate you from your best friend. Sherlock the kid genius. You're so afraid of rejection. But at the same time you're so brave. Gryffindor." The Gryffindor table cheered. I went to sit with my house. This would be a fun school year.
Sherlock's p.o.v.
Bored. John was already put into his house. As I suspected he was a Gryffindor. I knew what house I'd be in. Slytherin. I guess I shouldn't complain. I'll be with Jim and Sebastian. Yippee.
"Will... er Sherlock Holmes." Dumbledore began but corrected himself. I walked fearlessly up to the chair not wanting to waste time it wasn't until the sorting hat approached me that I got metaphorical butterflies in my stomach. I tried to keep an expressionless face on but inside I was dying.
"William. More commonly known as Sherlock. Your not hard to place at all. But let's explain why. Oh who's that? John Watson. Your best friend. How you wish to be in his house. But you can never fit into Gryffindor. Ravenclaw." When the hat spoke the last word my heart fluttered. I'm not in Slytherin. Nothing's wrong with Slytherin except that it is an enemy to John's house. The Ravenclaw table clapped and cheered as I sat down at the table. This is going to be a fun year.
Molly's p.o.v.
Judgment day. My family has always talked about judgement day. Unlike how the bible describes it, my father said that it was when you get divided into one of four groups. These groups are the snake, the lion, the badger, and the raven. As I awaited judgement I listened to the other first years whispers about their hopes of getting into certain houses.
"Molly Hooper!" It was my turn. Judgement was upon us. I sat in the chair and tried to be brave as the hat approached. I found my mind wondering back to the tall dark haired boy on the train ride. His curls hung limply in his face. His eyelashes cast shadows across his porcelain face. Sherlock Holmes.
"Sherlock Holmes huh he is rather cute isn't he? You're a sentimental one. Hufflepuff." I blushed when the hat brought up Sherlock. I went to join the table filled with students wearing black and yellow ties and scarfs. All the Hufflepuffs cheered as I sat down. This would be a fun year.
Jim's p.o.v
Sorting hat! Sorting hat! I sound like a bubbly teenage girl who's about to graduate but once again I don't care. I'm literally bouncing up and down. Sebby puts his hand on my shoulder.
"Calm down Jim." He removes his hand and takes mine. He has huge hands.
"Jim Moriarty!"
"Wish me luck Sebby!"
"You don't need luck you'll be fine." He pecked my cheek before I bounced up to the chair. I bounced impatiently in my chair. The hat was finally placed on my head.
"Calm down Jim! You're like a bubbly teenage girl. But that's just on the outside. Something much darker lurks in your heart. You're cunning and clever. Slytherin." I bounced to the Slytherin table. The cheering subsided.
"Sebastian Moran!" I watched as Sebby sat in the chair the hat was placed on his head.
"You're about as hard to place as you're boyfriend. Slytherin." Another round of cheers rose from the Slytherin table. Sebby came to sit next to me. He took my hand under the table. This would be a fun year.
