Chapter 16: A New Dawn in Strangetown

I slept extremely well that night, to say the least. Something I had to look forward to was that I most likely wouldn't have to deal with any more problematic guests for awhile, and I could now rent out the penthouse like any other hotel room.

Which I did, the next time Ara needed a room. She loved it, especially since I'd added new furniture items to it--a massage bubbler and a dance machine.

For the next week, there was complete peace in Strangetown. No alien or robot invasions, no criminals to be hunted down...everything was blissfully normal by Strangetown's standards. And when the end of that week arrived, you would think I was implying the peacefulness ended...right?

Wrong. It would only continue with the arrival of Burple, one of Xizzle's men and apparently his nephew. Of course, when he appeared in the hotel lobby, everyone panicked except for Cory and I. Since he'd overheard my conversation with Michael last week, he knew I was waiting to hear back from the aliens.

"Greetings, Alessa," he began, "I am Burple. I was sent on my uncle's behalf as he himself is very busy at the moment. He wanted to give you a message."

"I have a feeling I know what it's about, but go on," I said, "You have very good grammar, by the way."

"Thank you. Now, his message was that he is willing to accept your proposal of a treaty. A meeting must be held sometime in the future to negotiate the terms."

I was elated at this news. Finally! Now there wouldn't be any more fighting between us and them! "You have no idea how happy that makes me, Burple, seriously. Have you guys sorted out any of the details yet of that meeting, or are you planning on leaving that up t me?"

Burple shrugged. "It is up to you, human. Just be sure to contact Emperor Xizzle when you have decided."

"Okay, well, the one decision I can make right now is that I would prefer it take place here at the hotel, just in case something comes up down here," I replied, "I'll be sure to let him know when I figure out the date and time and whatever."

"Very well. Goodbye for now, human manager." With that, he was beamed away.

From there, things became busier again. Not only did we have to work out the details of the meeting with Xizzle, but at some point one of the carbon monoxide alarms in the hotel began to malfunction. At first, we weren't sure whether or not something was actually being detected or if it was screwing up for no reason, so to be safe we had to evacuate everyone from the hotel including myself and Cory. Thankfully, it was a week where we didn't have very many guests and Cory and I were able to stay in the City Hall.

Once we determined that it was just a malfunction, a new alarm was ordered and we had to wait until it was done being installed before anyone could go back in. That took two days, and the amount of complaining we had to endure was insane.

The Saturday night after that hectic week was when I finally got the meeting fully planned. I figured the best thing to do would be to have it on Tuesday at three PM due to the hotel's schedule and the likelihood of being disturbed by guests. When I told Xizzle this, he agreed without hesitation, and he planned on bringing Burple and a few others to the meeting with him. This was fine with me, since Cory would be there as well.

Something occurred to me, though, as we were having that conversation. "Speaking of your planet," I said to him, "I'm not going to lie, I'm really curious about it. I mean, I pretty much know nothing about it despite you guys knowing so much about Earth."

"If questions have you, then be asking away," replied Xizzle. "After all, Earth is being very different than Sixam."

"Sixam? That's what it's called?" I asked. He nodded. "Interesting name."

I learned many other interesting things about Sixam throughout the conversation. For starters, there were different kinds of aliens, as Tristan had predicted on my first day in Strangetown. There was also something of a hierarchy, with Xizzle being at the top since he was the Emperor. Right under him were female aliens called Birth Queens, whose sole job were to act as a reproductive system for the other aliens.

There were also pollination technicians. They were typically the ones who abducted humans in UFOs and were somehow able to impregnate male humans with advanced technology. Every city and town on Earth apparently had a pollination technician assigned to it, but only one per town or city. "I do not know anything else about alien-human hybrids," admitted Xizzle after telling me that, "Ask the one who works at your store if you wish to learn more."

Workers of alien society were called Colony Drones, and the jobs they did seemed to vary, according to Xizzle. Retirement, as it turned out, was just as much of a thing in Sixam as i was here, and even pollination technicians could retire and move to another planet such as Earth if they wanted to. This rarely happened since there wasn't a whole lot of peace between our two planets yet. The treaty would hopefully remedy that.

Other than all of those things, aliens as well as their society were startlingly similar to Earth and humans, from what Xizzle was telling me. It was all very interesting, and he even recommended some books to check out if I wanted to know more. I made sure to write the titles of them down so I wouldn't forget later.

As I was putting the note with the titles on them in my pocket, something occurred to me. Xizzle's English, it seemed, had improved a whole lot since I saw him last. His sentences were a lot more grammatically correct, even if they weren't perfect. I had to commend him; he was doing really well. When I asked him about it--politely, of course--he agreed that it was because he had been learning from Burple during his free time, and that talking to me helped as well.

"I see," I said, "Well, in light of us burying the hatchet, would you maybe want to spend time together sometime? You know, as friends?"

Xizzle smiled at me, something that hadn't happened very much up to this point. "I would like that. But focus we must n the treaty first."

I smiled back. "Agreed. See you on Tuesday afternoon, then."

A/N: Just so you guys know, I got all my information on Xizzle's planet from various Sims pages on Wikia. I figured it'd be cool to add things from the other games to flesh out the story more.

And no, I did not come up with the name 'Sixam' myself; that was in the other games as well , mostly The Sims 4. :P (I found it pretty cool that it's an anagram of 'Maxis' though.)

Having said all that, I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter, and look forward to the next one!
