Chapter Three!

Kitty's POV.

"Wolverine has the location." The Professor says through the comms. "I'm transmitting Coordinates."

"Got it, Professor. Be there in 3!" Scott says, as he turns his car around.

Emerald's POV.

I hear the door get sliced open and Fred is surprised and confused. I hear the door break open and Logan growl a he's dressed as Wolverine. They fight as I try to get out of the metal and help them. I can't see what going on outside the door, but I hear them fight. I try concentrate on the shadows and faze through the metal and end up still inside of the room.

"Ugh... Can't breathe..." Logan struggles underneath Fred.

"She's my friend! You can't take her!" Fred yells. "Huh?"

"We're just giving her a way out. Through you if necessary." I hear Scott warn, I also hear him shoot above Fred as warning. I try to get out of the room but am too weak from using the shadows too soon.

"No!" Fred yells, sounding like he threw Wolverine at Scott. Fred opens the door as I use the fire' slight to levitate the file cabinet. It hits him in the face. "Nobody respect me! And you're the worst!" I sit in the chair tiredly. "You pretended to be my friend!" He threw the cabinet at me and I barely dodged it since I'm tired. He walks out and seems to get ready to drop a heavy item on the room. He gets hit in the back of the head by a laser, but it's not Scott's.

"Leave her alone, ye yahoo!" Rouge yells at him.

"What ya gonna do to me?" He taunts. "Make me wear bad makeup?"

"Didn't Mystique tell you what my power is?" Rouge asks.

"No. 'Cause I don't care!" He throws punches at her but she dodged. She steals his power.

"My power is your power, and I can take more than one!" Rouge yells over Fred's pain. She throws him in the air and hit him with Scott's laser. He lads in a bunch of old metal.

"Hah! I got too much power even for you!" He throws metal off of him. "You can't hurt me! I'm the Blob!"

"Nah. Your just garbage that wanted a date." Rogue says, standing up. "Now tell ya what- I'm taking you out!" She yells, her eyes glowing still. He lunges for her but she uses the lasers again he flys into the sky and lands in a dump.

"There you go. I only took a short-term dose of your power." Rogue says as she gives Scott his lens back. "You should be back to normal soon."

"You are like an angel, Kate." Scott says after groaning a bit.

"My name's not Kate. And I'm no angel." Rogue denies.

"You saved me Rogue, thank you." I say, hugging her.

"You helped us, why?" Jean asks from beside Scott.

"I don't know. I just don't know!" Rogue runs off.

"Hey wait!" Jean says, trying to follow.

"Easy red, let her go." Logan says, grabbing Jeans arm.

"But she-"

"She ain't ready. Trust me on this." Logan says. We watch Rogue run off.

"Ok, so maybe she's part of the dark, icky side. But I figure we, like, totally owe her now." Kitty says as Logan wraps an arm around me.

"Yeah. Yeah, we do. Big time." Scott says, watching Rogue, he looks back at me and I run into him for a hug. He was like a older brother to me, even though we both have our own siblings.

Couple days later.

I went with storm to watch her nephew play basketball at his Highschool. The crowd was cheering loudly for them. The whistle blows, and Storm's nephew grabs the ball after it misses the hoop. The cheerleaders go crazy as he dodged the opposing team.

"Yeah! Go, Go, Go, Go!" Thy cheer.

"All right, that's it. Keep him away from ya. Keep him away from ya." The coach tells Storm's nephew as he passes him.

"Daniels! Over here!" A teammate yells and I notice he has white hair.

"Storm?" I whisper which I earn a 'hmm' as a response. "You don't think he's a speedster, do you?" I whisper, pointing at the teammate.

"Your imagining things dear." She chuckles and focuses on her nephew again. The white haired one misses as the crowd groans.

"Get him! Steal the ball!" Storm's sister-in-law yells.

"Set up your zone. Don't let him shoot." Storm's brother yells next.

"Is it always this exciting?" Storm asks him.

"No. This one's a real nail-biter." Her brother says proudly.

I look at the score board. 81-82 with 11 seconds to go. I thought to myself.

"Come on, 10 seconds. Let's go." The coach yells. "Pietro, Daniels is open. Now!" He says to the white haired one. 'Pietro' passes the ball to Storm's nephew and he runs to the basket.

"You can do it, Evan. Shoot, shoot!" Storm yells, standing up to encourage her nephew. He shouts and gets hit by an opposing player, the ball makes it's way to the basket and... I feel something go wrong. I look at Evan and see his arm grow spikes.

"Storm." I hiss, I gesture to my arm as then to Evans and she looks shocked. I look back at the ball and see it made it in. The crowd cheers and Evan lifted up by his team. He tore some of the basketball tiles. He checks his arm and nothing's there.

"Yeah! Whoo-hoo! Yes!" He yells after he sees the spikes gone. They carry him away and I see Pietro standing alone, angry. Storm watched as he follows his team. I sense something was gonna happen so I excuse myself and wait outside the boys' locker room for Evans. Me and Storm hear him and Pietro fighting inside the locker room.

"I should have known you'd hog all the glory." Pietro starts.

"What are you talkin', man? Everyone knows that-" Evan starts to say but is cut off.

"Everyone knows if it weren't for me, you wouldn't have had that last shot." I look at Storm and roll my eyes. "I knew I should've just taken it myself."

"Hey, that was a great pass, man. But there's no way you could've made it down the court in time for a shot." Evan says, obviously finishing packing his bag.

"Hey, dude, I got moves you can't imagine. And I'm through holding back just to make guys like you look good." Pietro walks away. I lean on the door frame as Storm talks.

"Seems like that boy has been competing with you ever since you were babies."

"Hey auntie O, what's up? Where's Dad and Mom?" He asks, then looks at me. "And whose that?"

"Waiting outside, and this is a close friend of mine." She smiles at me and I walk up.

"Emerald. I think you did a great job out there." I say, shaking his hand.

"I think the boys' bathroom makes your mother nervous." Storm says to Evan.

"Right. Some game, huh? It's tight that you showed." He sadd, grabbing his bag. What he said makes me giggle.

"And miss my favourite Nephew's big game? Heh. Not a chance." She hugs him.

"Mm, thanks again for coming, Auntie." He says as she breaks the hug.

"Evan, are you all right?" Storm asks, referring to the... Spikes earlier. "I've been concerned about you lately." She sits down. "You know, about the things we've discussed before."

"Yeah, yeah, no problem, Auntie O. Everything's cool."

"Evan, we saw what happened to you out there tonight when you fell." Storm says.

"Hey, it's no big deal. I got it under control. Ah... Ah-choo!" He sneezes and spikes hit the lockers.

"Bless you." Storm says, glancing at a spike near her head.

"Busted, huh?" He sniffles.

"Big time." I comment, grabbing a spike and examining it.

Timeskip.

"Still can't get over that last shot, son." Evan's dad says as he cooks the food on the barbecue. I sit a bit away from them and use the shadows to make shapes floating above my hands. "What a beauty. You're gonna remember this game for a long time." Mrs. Daniels walks outside to us.

"Yes. Wasn't it exciting?" His mom asks. I look at Evan to see he's right beside me, looking at the shadows in my hands.

"What amazes me is that you've kept it concealed this long." Storm says, her and Evan sitting on the chairs while I lean on the tree.

"I'm telling you, I've got it covered. A few points, a few spikes. I mean, so what?" Evan says, looking back at his aunt. "This is New York."

"Evan, you need to take this seriously." Storm warns. "The Xavier institute can offer you training."

"I don't need training, man." I gets off his chair and steps over my legs. "I can take care of myself. Anyone messes with me- bam." He slices his spikes onto the tree, making leaves fall onto my head. Storm looks at his parents.

"No, Evan." She stands up. "You mustn't use your powers like that. You have to learn control."

"Hey, I've got Control, see?" He asks, retracting his spikes. "Everything's cool."

"Like in the locker room?" Storm asks knowingly, I wince knowing she night hit a nerve.

"All right, so it's not perfected yet." He says, leaning on the tree and I move to go help Mr. and Mrs. Daniels.

"I think we'd better continue this conversation with your parents." I hear Storm say.

"Like I didn't know that was coming." He says. "Look, can't this wait till after school tomorrow? I mean, this is a big night for them."

"Get 'em while they're hot!" Mr. Daniels calls.

"All right." Storm sighs. Evan walks to his parents and I can tell Storm is telepathically talking with the Professor. She walks up to me dyer she finishes. "Jean and Scott will be here tomorrow. Are you sure you don't want to sleep over here?"

"No thank you, I'm good." I smile to her, she nods hesitantly and I finish eating the dinner given to me. "This was very delicious Mr. and Mrs. Daniels." They nodded and I bowed and left to go get a room at a hotel.
