First Impressions
He came back with a fresh lab coat but nothing else. He looked a little flustered when he went back through the teleporter.
"Sorry I don't have any clothes that fit you, but put this on and I'll wash these for you." He pointed at her dirty red kimono and white shorts and she nodded.
"Okay!" He walked outside to the balcony racking his brain, in the span of a second his whole life was turned around, he didn't even know the girl, where she was from, or why she was blown up.
But, he imagined that whatever the case, she wouldn't know how to do much, she was far too innocent to, unlike him, he'd seen many years of war he'd rather not talk about.
A soft knocking brought him out of his thoughts and he turned to find the very embarrassed looking girl avoiding eye contact.
"Here are my clothes..." She laid a folded bunch of dirty clothes in his hands, "But I don't really want to go out looking like this... the coat is really big on me..."
That would explain why she was hiding a good portion of her body behind the door, so he nodded and smiled, turned on his jetpack and glided through the air to the main room of his castle, he threw the clothes into an improvised washer, and as he watched the clothes turn in the machine, he thought some more.
He never could remember what he was doing here, and he felt nearly incomplete, some memories seemed to be missing, mostly recent ones, he couldn't remember inventing his sorting machine, it was like that memory was erased from his head, or even like he wasn't present for it.
The loud mechanical buzzing of the machine tore him from his thoughts once more as he moved the clothes from the washer to the dryer, to keep his mind from wandering again, he flew back up to his balcony and visited his guest.
She was sitting patiently on the bed, she looked worried, or even nervous. She was twiddling her thumbs and trying her best to make her already small body look smaller. She was right about the lab coat however, it was so large on her that it really didn't cover much.
"I never got your name...." He spoke, and she jumped at it, but quickly composed herself.
"I'm Nano!" He thought for a moment, Nano... small, he then chuckled at her name.
"Fitting..." She pouted And almost stood up before realizing if she did she would be exposed.
"Ugh... I wish I was named something else..." She muttered and he laughed out loud.
"At least your name doesn't sound like someone gagging, My name is Lalna." He could see the gears working in her head as she slowly started to smile brightly, before dissolving into laughter.
"No, it sounds like Llama! And that's cool!" She assured him, he laughed and sighed, shaking his head.
"Llama's are not cool. They literally spit in people's faces." He replied, suddenly remembering Nano's clothes.
"Your clothes are probably dry now, let me go get them." He pointed out the door before zooming off the balcony and landing on the floor of the main building, there, He clumsily folded her clothes and brought them to her, she took them eagerly and he went back out to the balcony.
He knew one thing for certain, he had been alone for far too long, even speaking with her had brought his heart-rate up and that just wasn't normal. He would need to get used to having people around, besides, he had too much room in the castle anyway. There was an entire tower that wasn't in use, if she needed, she could stay there.
Just as he thought that, a very bouncy Nano came bounding up behind him, looking out over the railing and at the Mad Scientists home.
"This place is so cool! Did you build all of this?" She asked excitedly, childlike wonder in her eyes.
"Yes. Would you like a tour?" He asked without a second thought, and she answered with the same enthusiasm.
"YesIWouldLikeATour!" She said so quickly that he had to take a moment to process it, but once he did, he chuckled.
"Okay then..."
