The beginning of an end

I woke up at 6 in the morning and I couldn't fall back asleep. I eventually decided to pull myself out of bed and into the shower. When I finished my quick shower, I picked my outfit for the day. I finally settled for a lace top, "distressed" jeans, some silver jewellery and for my hair I did a beautiful yet simple french braid. As I was walking downstairs I could smell the mouth-watering scent of pancakes. Once I sat down at the table, a plate stacked with pancakes was put in front of me.

"Thanks." I chirped.

"Any time" Aunt Amanda replied.

"Where's mum?" I asked curiously.

"At a job interview." Aunt Amanda answered briefly.

When I was done I brushed my teeth, smacked on some chap stick, pulled on my leather boots and I was out the door. My new school was a couple of blocks away but the birds were chirping and the sun was shining I simply couldn't resist but walking to school. Once I made a appearance at school, I went straight to the office to tell them that their new student has arrived. Then a lady with brown hair and vivid red glasses approached me.

"I'm Cara Hills, the new student." I stated.

"I'm Mrs. Lemoine, the principal of Rosedale High school." She stated back.

"Follow me." She added.

I followed her through the halls. All of a sudden we came to a stop in front of a locker.

"This will be your new locker. Here is the lock and here is the code for the lock." She orated giving me a lock attached with a little piece of paper with four numbers on it." She acknowledged.

"Thank you." I said cheerfully.

"Now, follow me to homeroom." She ordered.

Not far from my locker, we came to a stop.

"This is homeroom. Here is a timetable of your classes and we have all sorts of clubs and comities, I gave you a copy of those too. Be sure to check them out! Please, feel free to ask me if you have any questions or concerns." She said in a kind-hearted voice.

"I will, thank you so much. See you later Mrs. Lemoine." I replied.

I walked into homeroom and saw that there were a few uninhabited seats left in the corner. I sat in one of the seats and I was getting ready for the lesson to start. A few moments later the boy from the restaurant walked into the room holding hands with another girl. Once he laid his eyes on me he let go of the other girl's hand and walked towards me.

What do I say? Should I tell him my name or should I ask for his name first?

Questions and thoughts swirled in my head as he was walking towards me.

"Hey, I'm Brayden." He started.

"I'm Cara, I'm new here." I chimed in.

"Cool, I'm so sorry for what happened yesterday. My girlfriend was gossiping about how like who and whatever else, whenever she does that I seem to zone out. I think the I zoned out too much because I couldn't see where I was going and then I bumped into you." He elaborated.

"Yeah, sorry about that." I blubbered.

"I got to go. Catch you later Cara." He said while waving goodbye.

"Bye." I said waving goodbye to him.

The teacher walked into the room as if he was in a tornado. He staggered into the room with papers flying everywhere. What a mess!

"Hello class. Sorry I'm late the traffic was terrible." He said in a shaky voice.

Excuses! I walked to school and I didn't see any traffic.

"Let's get started with the attendants and I see a new face in the crowd, Cara." He continued.

"Remy" The teacher shouted.

"Here" The student replied.

"Ok, so let's get started." The teacher announced.

"That's what we've all been waiting for. And by the way I like to be called Tori not Victoria, if you please." Tori said in the meanest and the most sarcastic voice possible.

Wow, she was a pain. Speaking of which, she was the girl that Brayden held hands with when he walked into the class!

After a boring hour and a half of introduction and some school it was break time. It went by so quickly though. I managed to write a quick poem and have a little snack. Next, I have P.E. I went to the girl's change room and got into ivivva shorts and a sport top. I pulled on my runners and I was in the gym. We started off doing some suicides and then we had stations to do. The coach put us in groups of three. I was put with two other girls. Our first station was the jump ropes.

"Hi, I'm Cara." I peeped to the other girl.

"I'm Jennifer." She peeped back.

She was not very tall, blonde with brown eyes. She was beauteous.

"What sports do you play?" I asked.

"I play soccer and I dance. You?" She answered, then, asked me.

"Nothing yet. I just moved in yesterday so I haven't really had time to look into extra curricular activities yet." I claimed.

"I understand, I saw you this morning in homeroom." She giggled.

"You did?" I asked curiously.

"Yeah, you were talking to Brayden" She stated.

"I remember." I said.

We were skipping ropes the entire time during our conversation!

"So who's Brayden's girl friend?" I asked.

Victoria, The most popular girl in school. He just wants the best of the best so she became Brayden's girlfriend. She thinks she is the best when she really isn't" Jennifer confessed.

"Well, Jennifer..." I started.

"Don't even... call me Jenn. You're my friend" She rejoiced.

Ok, well, Jenn I don't think that she should be the "popular one". It should be you. You are funny, beautiful, kind and probably very smart. That's all there is to being popular. Trust me, I know from experience. And you're really good at skipping; I am having a hard time keeping up. " I said in the sweetest voice ever heard.

At that moment the coach yelled switch and we were of to the next station. The rest of the day flew by quickly. Once I finished my English class I went to my locker and checked my timetable. My next class was biology.

No time to waste. I've got to get to class.

On the way to class I was wondering what we would be doing. I entered the classroom and saw Brayden doodling on some papers in the corner. I walked over there.

"Hey, what are you drawing?" I asked.

He showed me his doodles. They were all drawing from the Looney Tunes Show. They were amazing!

Wow!

The class came to a start. The teacher got us all lined up and then paired us in groups of two. I was put with Brayden. The teacher finally announced that we would be dissecting frogs. I was so squeamish. The last thing I want is throwing up on his Nike shoes. Once Brayden opened up the bag in which the frog was in I almost threw up just from the smell. The entire time there were these two girls whispering to each other. How were they not grossed out?! By the end of class I gaged quite a few times and I threw up once. Not on his shoes though. The word got out that "the new girl" threw up in biology class. By the time I walked out of biology class everybody was laughing at me. How old are they? 6? What children, so immature! Jenn managed to beat the crowd and get to me. Even though I've only known her for a few hours she was a true friend. Not like the ones I had back in London.

We defeated the crowd and managed to get out of the school.

"Thanks for what you did back there." I thanked her.

"That's what friends are for." She replied with a smile on her face.

"Do you want to come over on Friday?" I asked her.

"Sure, after soccer though" She said.

"Of course" I giggled back.

"Bye." She sang out.

"Bye." I chirped back.

When I got home I saw mom was in the kitchen surrounded by papers with a smile on her face.

"How was the job interview?" I catechized.

"Procligious! I got the job and now I am put on my first assignment" She said with humongous cheer and the biggest smile on her face.

I couldn't help but squeal with joy!

Aunt Amanda was in the living room watching TV and when she heard my squeal she thought there was something wrong.

"Is everybody ok?" She said as she rushed into the kitchen.

"Yes, in fact better than ever! Mom got the job." I squealed.

With a sigh of relief aunt Amanda smiled. We enjoyed each other's company and time flew by fast. The next thing I know I'm in bed. I don't want to go to school tomorrow, everybody will make fun of me. This was a great start with a terrible end.

It was the beginning of an end.

*Author's note*

Tell me what you think! I'd love to hear how I could make it better. Any inputs will be considered!

Also shot-out to SirWattOfPad for helping me out a little. I'm still working on the part that he told me to "fix up" but when it is done I'll let you know
