Jess's Pov.

I jumped through my open bedroom window and quickly change out of my 'costume'. I ran down the stairs and nearly bumped into Pepper who had just walked through the door. "Hey Pepper, aren't you a little early??"

"Yes the airplane was early" Pepper smiled and gave me a hug. We let go after a couple of seconds and walked into the kitchen.

"So, how is California?"

"Not much changed, but I must say that the house is quieter" I smiled at that. Pepper had always been like a carer to me, she being there for me an all.

"How is dad??" I asked her cautiously. A smile appeared on her face.

"We'll he is making a new weapon for the army" I rolled my eyes, dad and his weapons. I grabbed a cup of thee and handed it to Pepper.

"That's nothing new.. " I muttered. She shook her head.

"Did you make any friends??"

"Yeah some" I said while stirring my own cup

"Don't tell me it's a boy"

"Pepper!! Not like that!!" she laughed while I became as red as a tomato.

"What's his name??"

"Not telling otherwise you are going to check on him"

"I won't do that"

"Yes you do and then the whole media knows about it so, no I'm not telling" I told her. 'Im sexy and I know it' suddenly started playing through the kitchen. I raised an eyebrow as Pepper turned as red as a tomato and grabbed her phone. I laughed as Pepper left the kitchen to speak to her phone. I took out my phone and started to text Peter.

Jess: 'Hey Peter whats up??' It took just seconds before I got a reply.

Peter: 'The roof'

Jess: 'Haha very funny'

Peter: 'Is your dad's assistant early??'

Jess: 'yeah...'

I dropped my phone when Pepper walked in.

"Derr'mo" I softly cursed crouching down to grab it. Some Russian word I remember. No scratches, thank god. Pepper tugged her phone back into her pocked before turning to me.

"That was your father, I need to get back."

"Already?" I asked, disappointed.

"Yes but I will be back soon." Pepper said while zipping up her jacked. "JARVIS, is my ride still here?"

"Yes miss Potts" Pepper turns around to face me, her smile turning sad as she saw my face. Of course I wasn't happy, Pepper is like my mom. I had waited for the day she would come here for days but my father had to ruin it for me again.

"Well, I be going then, I'll see you soon" Pepper said while giving me a awkward wave. When she didn't get the response she hoped for she walked away. The sound of a door closing brought me back. I sat back into my chair, my head in my hands. Anger washes over me so I grab my tea cup and threw it against the wall with a scream. I sit back down and let tears stream down my face.
