2 days later.

"Huh? I got a text from Callie?" Shelly looked at her squid phone in confusion.

"Huh? What's it say?" Asked Colt, still half asleep.

"She says we need to go to the shack quickly! I'll get Axel, please go get Edge." Said Shelly.

"Why don't I get Axel?" Asked Colt.

"Because Axel won't flip when a girl kicks down his door." Said Shelly simply.

"I guess I can't argue with that..." Said Colt. "Alright, let's go!"

20 minutes later.

"What's going on?" Asked Shelly, as she burst into the shack, with her squad in tow.

"Gramps found the missile, you know, that missile the captive told us about." Sadi Marie.

"Ah." Said Axel. "So we are going to take it down?"

"Yes. Be careful!" Said Callie. "Gramps said there are lots of defenses."

"Well, Callie, wanna see a neat trick?" Asked Axel.

"What?" Said Callie, confused.

Axel smirked, and equipped all of his weapons.

"That should be able to contend with them, right? One Splattershot, one Charger, and the Arc and Riptide."

"Ok well." Said Callie. "Clearly you are prepared."

"That's not all." Said Axel. "I have a survey drone, and I can get Rick to remote pilot it, so I have eyes in the sky."

"Dude you're a freaking death machine." Said Edge.

"I'm not sure how to take that. But ok." Said Axel. "I'm gonna charge the Arc's special, then let's go."

3 minutes later.

"Ok guys, we will fly you as close as we can get, be careful. Axel, would you mind putting that extra spawn in here, or does it have limited range?" Asked Callie.

"It has longer range than your SPAWN pads, but not long enough to put anywhere and still work." Said Axel.

"Alright then. Be safe!" Said Marie.

Edge, Colt, and Shelly all morphed into their squid forms, and hopped on Axel's back. Axel jumped out of the helicopter, and landed at the base of the missile work site.

"I worry for them, it looks rough." Said Callie.

"They won't go down without a fight, Cal. Axel will keep them safe." Said Marie.

"I just feel there's something fishy about this. I can't shake it." Said Callie, staring off into the distance.

5 minutes later.

"Colt, is that the door?" Asked Axel.

"I think so. Is Rick with us?" Colt replied.

"Am now." Said Rick. "What's going on?"

"Can you fly this survey drone as recon for us?" Asked Axel. "We are raiding a terrorist work site."

"Like ISIS?" Asked Rick.

Shelly made a question face, while Axel said "closer the North Korea in the 2020s."

"Well crap." Said Rick. "Yeah, I'll help you guys out. Stay safe."

"Axel, the door is clear, let's go!" Said Shelly.

Axel flipped down his visor, and started beating down the door. After 3 swings, they were in. Axel deployed the spawn pad, and raised the Arc to charge.

2 minutes earlier.

"Ugh, this is so boring." Complained an octotrooper. "Even the prisoners are having more fun than us!"

"I get your point, but can't you tell none of them want to be here either." Responded another trooper.

"If it weren't treason, I'd let them go just to go home." Said a third trooper.

"Guys." Started a sniper, before the troopers argued more.

"GUYS" yelled the sniper, as a loud slam echoed from the door.

All the troopers snapped to attention. A third resounding bang was heard, and then the door was thrown inwards several feet. Behind it stood Axel, Arc already charged.

"Lay waste, friends!" Shouted Axel. He shot once, and the entire gate guard party was splatted.

"Charge!" Bellowed Edge.

"2 on your 5, 19 on your 11." Said Rick.

Axel nodded, and blasted at his 11, letting Colt and Shelly handle his 5.

15 of the troops Axel shot towards were splatted, and the rest stopped in terror.

(I'm using clock hours as a direction pointer, before anyone asks.)

"No one else I can see, but there are a few different looking ones up ahead." Said Rick.

"Octolings." Said Axel. "They actually have skill." He switched out to the Riptide, and refilled his tank. "But I've got a new toy to use."

The octolings ran around the corner, just to be blasted by the riptide, as Axel railed the strings. All we're splatted on the spot.

"You're halfway to the missile... thing." Said rock. "That's the target, right?"

"Yeah." Said Axel. "I need a way to disarm it. Hold on, I have an idea."

"Well, go for it. But there are over 50 guys on your 9." Said Rick.

Axel swapped back to the Arc, and wiped out every soldier waiting for him when he rounded the corner. Meanwhile, Edge had snuck up to the missile, like Axel had planned. He jammed his Hydra Splatling in the control box, and unloaded his whole charge onto the wires. Then he ran back to Colt, who was waiting for him.

"Did you get it?" Asked Colt.

"Yeah." Said Edge. "Let's see if Axel knows what they'll do."

Just then, an alarm blared. "Launch now! It will all be destroyed if that... THING gets to it! Hurry!"

The missile started the launch sequence, and shot off to end Inkopolis. Except it only went 2 feet, before falling down.

"Just like the old Korean nukes!" Laughed Rick.

Axel pulled out the riptide, and began dousing the missile as fast as he could. All the captive inklings changed their colors to avoid the damage.

"Axel, it's gonna blow!" Yelled Colt.

"I have a plan! Turn onto a squid, and hide inside me!" Yelled Axel.

"All the captives won't fit!" Said Shelly.

"They already hid!" Said Axel.

Edge jumped in. "This is gross dude, I'll need therapy after this."

"Me too." Said Colt, as he jumped in.

"I won't fit!" Said Shelly. "I'll be ok!"

"Colt, listen, Shelly is playing along with the plan. I need you to get out and try to get her to get in." Said Axel.

"But I'll die!" Said Colt.

"I placed the spawn in a bush before the attack began. You'll respawn, and I have a feeling a surprise is needed soon. Trust me." Said Axel.

Colt put on a brave face, and did as he was asked to.

Just then, the missile erupted, showering Yellow and Black ink everywhere. Colt and Shelly both were splatted. Axel yelled "noo! Why Colt, not you both!"

Edge came out, and started crying too.

"Dude, something is coming!" Said Rick, somehow keeping the drone spotless.

"Axel, you are a genius." Whispered Edge in between fake sobs.

Then, DJ Octavio flew into view on his octobot.

"Gah! I'll kill you worms, just like those other ink stains died!" He screamed.

"Get behind him." Axel told Edge. "When he turns to you, I'll shake him up. When he tries to run, Colt and Shelly will stop him."

Edge nodded, and began flanking.

"I see that, ink stains!" Yelled Octavio, turning the octobot away from Axel.

Edge stuck out his tongue at Octavio.

"You worm! I'll end you!" Octavio shouted, right before being tossed out of the octobot from behind. As he fell, he saw Axel's fist being retracted from a large hole in the bot.

Edge was waiting when he landed, and pumped a fill charge at point blank into the octobot king.

"Arg! Worm, you won't catch me!" Octavio yelled, as he ran away. Edge pretended to chase him, as Axel pretended to fix his hand.

Octavio made it out of the work site, and turned to scoff at Axel and Edge, when another splatling smashed him over the head.

"Uh... Cross... Fade... To..." He tried to say, before Shelly smacked him with the splatling again.

"Are you inking kidding me... I... Killed... You..." Octavio slurred as he fainted.

Axel came out of the work site with half the prisoners in tow. Edge followed with the rest.

"Looks like I was right." Said Axel. "Megalomaniacs are so predictable."

"Let's get him back to the others." Said Shelly.

"We hear you, Shelly." Said Marie. "We are landing in a few, see you soon!"

"See Callie." Said Marie. "Axel can keep them safe. Trust in those guys, they are legends for a reason."

1 hour later.

Octavio was still unconscious, and had a monster of a bruise developing. He was sealed in a reinforced snow globe, with barely enough room to move around. The agents and the squad we're sitting together.

Suddenly Shelly said "I just realized! We never thought of a team name!"

"Shelly's team or Colt's team works just fine." Said Pearl.

"But it sounds stupid!" Said Shelly. "Anyone have an idea?"

"Team laywaster." Said Edge. "In honor of that epic beatdown."

"I second this notion." Said Axel.

"Sounds good!" Said Colt. "From now on, we are team laywaster."

"That's a mouthful." Said Pearl.

"Uh, guys." Rick called from Axel's earpiece. "Sorry to drop this on you with such short notice after that madhouse, but the humans are sending down a small craft with a few human teens, like in an hour. I estimate they will get there in a day."

"Wait really?" Asked Axel.

"Yep." Said Rick. "The commander sent them. I believe his code name was DisRandomDude, which I am not gonna stop and question because ain't nobody got time for that. But there are 5 of them, and a robot wolf in addition."

"Interesting code name. Well, tell him I send my regards. Not that he will really know me, but I know Sue talks me up all the time." Said Axel.

"Can do." Said Rick.
