One Final Party
A/N this will be the second to last chapter of this book. Apologies to anyone hooked on it that wants more. What I will say is that I already have plans for a sequel. And another, possibly more absurd book besides. Yes, my creative process can out do the ramshackle mess I have written up here. As for the sequel, it's not yet in the works, and I don't have a title. What I do have, is plot ideas for at least the first couple chapters. Rest assured, I'm not leaving you hanging. This book will get one more update after the last chapter when titles for the new books are decided. With that out of the way, in already at over 150 words, so let's do this! Thanks to TheGamingNgweh77 and DisRandomDude for their OC donations. The OCs they gave will be featured again in the sequel, but very likely not in the other book. I appreciate everything. And I almost hit 1000 reads! It's awesome. Here's to the future.
The day was coming tomorrow. The humans had completed the info gathering trip they were sent on, and the ship to pick them up was coming tomorrow. Gaven and G-man were glad that the social interactions they had to tolerate we're about done, but the majority of the group was upset. Namely, Callie was absolutely devastated by the news. The humans were practically a godsend for her, because she got really lonely sometimes with nobody but Marie and Cuttlefish to talk to. Axel was aware this was gonna happen, so he was trying unsuccessfully to calm Callie down with Marie. Shelly and Colt felt down as well, but the most upset about this was Luke. As he had no other friends, he was not in the best of moods.
"I can't believe my luck... I make new friends for once and they gotta zoom off into space 3 days later." Luke grumbled.
"I know man." Said Jose. "We will miss you.
"Well, I know we all are upset about this, but I have an idea." Said Axel. "I know for a fact Inklings do this too. Let's have a party! Make a few more good memories before you gotta go."
This cheered Callie up tremendously.
"Yeah! We gotta have a little more fun, you don't leave until tomorrow." She said. "I'll go make plans!"
"Callie, it's not like a birthday party." Said Axel. "Just get some food and games, and let's all hang out for a while."
"I could go for that." Said Jay.
G-man and Gaven tried to sneak away, but Shelly caught them.
"I think not antisocial ones! You are gonna have a good time, and you are gonna like it!" She said.
Gaven grumbled.
2 hours later.
Everyone was having a good time, even Gaven and G-man. Jose was a bit less shy do to all the social exposure, but he still couldn't talk coherently to any girls. Axel had even called Rick and Sue up on the projector for the occasion. Currently, Shelly and Riley were demolishing in a karting game, and Axel was playing poker with Callie, Sue, Jay, and Cuttlefish. Everyone else was talking and eating contently.
"So uh, Axel. Don't tell me you're leaving too." Said Callie.
"Nope. I'm here, for all my days." Said Axel. "At least a lot of em."
Sue looked like she wanted to say something, but no one noticed.
Jay was on a win streak in poker, with 4 winning hands in a row. He flipped over his hand, revealing another win, a full house. Suddenly he sneezed, and like 70 cards fell put of his sleeve.
"If looks could kill." Said Axel.
"You and everyone behind you would be dead." Finished Cuttlefish.
"At least we weren't betting..." Jay said.
"Dude. You better run regardless." Whispered Sue.
Jay booked it out of the house, screaming "you'll never take me alive! AAAAAAAAAAAA!"
"Ok." Said Callie, confused.
Luke walked up. "Hey guys? Are any of you good at video games?"
"Yes" said Callie and Sue at the same time.
"Some of be needs to stop those 2, no one can do anything against them." Luke said, pointing at Shelly and Riley.
"Oh boy. That'll be tough." Said Sue. "But I got this. Wait... No I'm a hologram over there. Axel is decent, have him go."
"Ok." Said Axel. "Kart games, huh? We haven't played one of those is years."
"You have 10000 years less rust at it tho." Said Sue.
"Oh shit a valid point." Said Axel. "Whatever will I do?"
He ended up playing. Callie and Axel combined were even more of a destructive pair.
"We did it!" Said Callie happily, hugging Axel.
"Oh! Uh, yeah! We did!" Said Axel, taken aback.
'They look so cute." Marie thought. "If only Axel was good at the whole 'emotions' thing... I would love some nieces or nephews..."
"As if that would work. Personally, I want to see it too, but we don't know of they are even biologically compatible." Said Rick, as if he read her mind.
"Dude! Stay out of my head." Said Marie.
Rick put his holographic arm through Marie's head literally. "What you gonna do?" He teased.
"Oh my squid. You're freaking weird." Said Marie.
"I'm not the one having lustful thoughts for her cousin with basically a heap of metal." Countered Rick.
Marie could not reply to that.
Before Rick could tease her more, Sue called Marie over to join in the poker playing.
"She's so easy to mess with." Rick snickered.
A few more hours of good times came and went. Eventually, it was time for bed. That is, for a normal person. But Inklings stay up late all the time, and the humans were all teens. So no one actually bothered to go to bed except Cuttlefish. Sue and Rick had to hang up, and Axel had another idea.
"Hey Riley. Do you have any tntl compilations on your phone?" He asked.
"Why me?" Asked Riley.
"Because you look like the kind of person who lives on YouTube." Said Axel.
"I may have like six. Teen. Thousand..." Riley said.
"I thought so. All right. Let's introduce the Inklings to human teen culture." Said Axel.
"I have a better way..." Said Riley.
"No. We are not touching the deep web sites. Bad child." Said Axel.
"Then I gotta close a few tabs first." Said Riley.
38482 tabs later.
"Ok, on the the next site." Said Riley.
"Excuse me what." Said Axel.
20 minutes and 691749 tabs later.
"Ok. Let's play some of these." Said Riley.
"Yes! Finally!" Said Callie and Shelly, very hyped.
5 whole minutes later.
"Oh my squid? Is he ok?"
"Oh! I get that one!"
"I thought that's Sanders guy didn't have a family..."
"It's a joke, they are ok."
"How'd he do that?"
Everyone was having a blast. The Inklings had the often be taught the fine arts of video editing, because otherwise nothing they were seeing would make sense. But hey, what are friends for?
"These videos are so funny!" Said Callie. "What was your favorite?"
"The 'fbi open up' one." Said Riley.
"I liked 'when life gives you lemons.'" said Marie. "Good thing I have you guys here to tell me what it says."
"They are all amazing!" Said Shelly.
"Well, that's a big part of human culture." Said Riley. "I'd show a bigger part of teen culture, but I think Axel would snap my phone in half first."
"Yes I would. And then I'd do it again. Wait, where's Luke and Jay?" Said Axel.
Luke walked in with an inky nose and a mad blush. Jay looked satisfied ad he hid his phone.
"Jay. Why are you like this. I know what you did." Said Axel.
"Shit he figured it out..." Jay thought.
"I'm about to launch that device out the window, but the damage is done..." Said Axel. "Don't even consider talking about it."
"About what?" Asked Callie.
"Disgusting things, Callie. We would like to keep you as the happy person you are, untainted by that... Stuff..." Said Axel.
"Well then I thinks that's enough internet for tonight." Said Marie. "Bed time guys."
"Do we have to?" Shelly said.
"Yes Shell." Said Colt.
"Well, night all. I'll see you in the morning before you go." Said Axel.
Everyone left for their rooms, and tried to mentally prepared for the drama the next day would bring.
Sue POV
"If only I had told them." Sue told Rick.
"I'm sure they will be more happy to find out themselves." Said Rick. "C'mon babe, let's go have some fun."
"You dork. Drunk again?" Said Sue.
"Only a little." Rick hiccuped.
"Alright. Drunk Smash with the kids?" Said Sue.
"You know me too well." Said Rick.
"Lucky I do. Any people overhearing you would have an entirely different idea." Said Sue, as they left.
