Galactic Introduction
The next day
Shelly's phone was ringing. Tiredly, she rolled over and answered it. "Hlo? Hello?"
"Good morning!" Said Callie over the phone. "I hate to drop this on you, but the 'ship' Axel's friend mentioned, I'm pretty sure it just landed. Can you head over here? But wake everyone else up first."
"Mkay." Mumbled Shelly tiredly. "We really need to get Axel a phone... He always gets up early..."
A surprising only 10 minutes later.
Marie heard a knock on the cabin door. "Callie, can you get that? I still look like I died last night."
"Ok!" Said Callie. "I wonder who it is."
She opened the door, to see Axel, carrying his squad. "Well, you got here fast."
"Actually, I had to go slower, because I carried these 3 the whole way." Said Axel.
"I guess forget I said anything." Said Callie. "Well, Marie still can't feel her feet, because of how early it is, so Gramps told me to take you guys to the ship that landed."
"Has it opened?" Asked Axel.
"No, why?" Asked Callie.
"Because not being there to greet a guest is considered rude." Said Axel.
"True" mumbled Colt.
"Lettuce. No. NO! I don't wanna eat vegetables. Mom they are gonna poisen me... Mom stop! NOOOO!" Said Edge, dreaming.
"Tell me you recorded that." Said Axel. "Because I did."
"Please send it to me later, if you can." Said Callie. "Anyways, let's go!"
"How will they understand you?" Asked Axel.
"You understand me just fine." Said Callie. "Why would they be different?"
"Because I have a translator I never take off. You actually thought I was fluent in Inkish?" Said Axel.
"...yes" whispered Callie.
"Sorry to disappoint. Don't worry, it's not your fault. I'm sure the humans will have translators, and Rick can show me how to make them if they don't." Said Axel.
"Ok." Said Callie. "Let's go, before they leave!"
"Actually, I'm pretty sure they are asleep. Self driving vehicles have existed since before I was born." Said Axel.
"Wha?" Asked Callie.
"Cars and vans could navigate by themselves in 2020. I was born in 2034, and Humanity left for space in 2050. Tech was pretty crazy in my time." Said Axel.
"I can imagine." Said Callie. "Well, I see the ship over there."
"Looks like they are indeed asleep." Said Axel. "I assume they have been briefed in somewhat what to expect, but they will likely be nervous regardless. At least they won't see Marie as she looked when we left."
"Most inklings aren't morning people." Said Callie. "I'm a bit of an oddity."
"So I see." Said Axel.
"Well, since it seems like we'll be sitting here a while, I wanna know more about your time." Said Callie.
"I can't really say much about my time specifically, because I was almost never outside. But what I do know is that while the Cyborgs, like myself were the pinnacle of man's achievement, everything was high tech. Holograms were everywhere, and everyone had some form of eyescreen, just nowhere near a cyborgs caliber of technical. Before my time, humanity was a mess. Get this, in the 1700s and 1800s, people all over the world had other humans as slaves. They treated these slaves barbarically, and usually had little to no provocation for their actions, but it was seen as acceptable." Said Axel.
"Wow... I can't even fathom something like that..." Said Callie, stunned.
"It gets worse." Said Axel. "In the 1900s, humanity actually were at each other's throats, at least in the US, where I lived. Very few groups of people didn't hate each other. It would be like if every combination of skin complexion, tentacle color, and gender in Inkopolis hated all other groups."
"That's terrible!" Said Callie. "Why were they all like that?"
"I wish I could say for certain." Said Axel. "But the 2000, especially from 2016 to 2020 were another kind of messed up. So get ready for this. In 2016, the US elected a leader, that probably single handedly ruined everything. About half the population of the US loved him, and worshipped his every word. The leader in question was just like people in the 1900s, he disliked just about everyone. He also didn't believe in global warming, which is why global warming speed up so much during his time. This speed up is why humanity had to leave the planet, because the ocean levels rose, and buried everything. In addition, the younger generation during that time we're all crazy. In 2016, they were obsessed with these things called fidget spinners. There was nothing interesting about the spinners, but every kid wanted one, just to act 'cool.' 2017 was almost tolerable, I heard, but 2018 was a nightmare. This game called 'fortnite' was loved at that time. The game itself was pretty good, but the people who played it we're the worst kind of annoying. And that went for everyone, mostly at the age of 12. But after 2020, everything calmed down. But because of the US leader, other nations caused trouble. The US was overrun and destroyed by Russia, another country. It took till 2025 to get back on our feet. North Korea stopped being a joke, as no one focused on them, and proceeded to try to nuke dozens of nations. They were stopped, but they still destroyed half of a continent. And with all that radiation in the air, the earth was plunged into an ice age. Most water froze, and billions of people died from dehydration. After 2040, the sun came out, as the radiation had cleared. Global warming went faster than before, melting the new ice caps by 2050, when I left with all the humans left for a different galaxy entirely. But, as you can see, I didn't quite make it."
"Wow." Breathed Callie. "The earlier 2000s sound rough. I can't say any of them were wrong, but it's kinda odd, and that coming from me."
"I'm pretty sure furries would love you, Callie. After all, you, in their eyes, are half human, half squid. Not that anyone in that time could comprehend an intelligent life form besides themselves." Said Axel lightly.
"What's a furry?" Asked Callie.
"I don't think you wanna know..." Said Axel ominously.
Suddenly, a hissing noise emitted from the ship.
"Whazzat?" Asked Callie.
"I'll take a guess that the humans are awake. They are kids, so try not to scare them. And we need to wake these three up." Axel said, pointing to Edge, Shelly and Colt, all in squid form, who were lying on the ground.
(A/N it was at this point I read the character descriptions of DisRandomDudes characters like 10 times to get them right, because I have standards.)
5 teen boys slowly walked out of the ship. The first thing they saw was Axel, and the one in front smiled. "Good! The commander said there would be a cyborg here, so what's going on?" Then he saw Callie, and his expression turned to pure shock.
Boys POV
"Everyone up?" Asked Jay.
"Yes." Said Jose.
"Maybe." Said G-man
"Regrettably. Why did I agree to this?" Said Riley. "I don't wanna talk to people..."
"Luckily that isn't our job." Said Gaven. "Because I second that."
"Well, I guess I'll talk." Said Jay. "At least one of us isn't shy." He joked.
"I'm not shy either." Said Jose.
"Well, let's open this boi up " said Jay.
Upon getting out, he saw Axel looking at them. He smiled. "Good! The commander said there would be a cyborg here. What's going on?" Then he turned to look at the smaller figure peeking out from behind Axel. He went to smile, before seeing her tentacles and teeth. His jaw.dropped in surprise.
"Mr cyborg, what is that?" Asked Jose.
"This is Callie, a friend. She is a member of the inking species that inhabits earth with a similar species, the octolings."
Callie made a series of gargling noises at Axel, seemingly in a sort of protest.
"Callie, I mean from a physical point of view. Besides, what about 8, or Marina? They are just like you guys." Replied Axel.
The inkling, Callie just looked down and softly gurgled. It looked like an apology.
"It's ok Callie. You didn't hurt my feelings." Said Axel, before noticing that the humans were entirely lost.
"You guys wouldn't happen to have translators, would you?" Asked Axel.
"We do. We just thought that the inklings would speak English." Said Jose.
"Really? Well, turn them on. I'm sure you want to hear what Callie says, as much as she wants to talk to you." Said Axel.
The second Jay switched his translator on, Callie began bombarding him with questions. Meanwhile, Axel's squad was waking up. Callie and Axel forgot about them, when the ship opened its door.
"There are more!" Said Jose.
"Oh, there are a couple thousand, just in the city." Said Axel. "I just brought some friends that wanted to meat a real human, instead of Mr. Danger Machine me. Speaking of which." He knocked in his side. "Shelly wake up. The humans are here!"
Shelly practically burst out of his systems. "Omigoshyeeeeeee!!!"
"Wha-?" Said Jay before Shelly tackled him.
"A real human! How many are there? Where are they? I wanna meet them!" She gasped, before Colt drug her off.
"Shell stop. You're scaring him." He said.
"..." No one had any words.
"Well!" Continued Axel. "I am bringing you guys back up to a meeting center. I have a projector to let Rick and Sue know you guys got here safe."
"Did you say Sue?" Piped up Riley. "She is our sexy teacher. I didn't know she was a cyborg too!"
Axel gave him a stern look.
"She happens to have a boyfriend, and as her best friend I find that kinda messed up to blurt out, dude." Said Axel. "In fact, I may just tell her you said that."
Riley went red, and started saying "oh good please don't that's so embarrassing!"
Callie grinned. "I think that's what Axel is trying to get at. Well, let's go!"
"Wait, Callie." Said Axel. "They can't super jump, and they don't have a grappling fist or leg thrusters. We have to go the long way."
"Oh. Right." Said Callie. "Well, at least when we get back Marie won't look like a horror movie character."
"Should I tell her you said that?" Joked Axel.
"Nya! N-no!" Said Callie, blushing. "Why would you do that?"
"Callie, I'm kidding. I kinda already told her that myself, so she knows." Laughed Axel.
"Guys, we have a long walk, and it's already 9 am. We should get going." Said Colt, clearly still tired.
"Can y'all walk?" Asked Axel.
"Well, Shelly went back and is sleeping in your side again, but edge and I are ok... For now." Replied Colt.
"Ok. Well, let's go." Said Callie. "By the way, Axel. That's nasty that you can do that."
"I get that alot." Said Axel.
4 hours later.
"Finally. We are back." Gasped Edge. "I can't feel my anything."
"Amen, dude." Moaned G-man, shocking the boys.
"G-man, are you ok?" Asked Riley. "You haven't spoke that many words to a stranger in 2 years!"
"No, it was very hard." Said G-man, slightly sarcastically.
"Well, I'm calling Sue now." Said Axel. Give your report, and I believe that you, sir." He pointed to Riley "Have something to tell her..."
Riley hid in a corner.
The call came through. "Ay Axel!" Said Rick. "I assume they made it?"
"Yes." Said Axel. "Are you aware half the group is chronically antisocial?"
"Shit." Said Rick. "I just picked out the squad because they are a big friend group."
"I haven't asked their names, but they have nametags. By the way, tell Sue that Riley-" Axel tried to say, before Riley dove at him.
"You are not saying that man!" He yelled.
Callie grinned, and finished for Axel. "Riley days Sue is sexyyy."
Riley turned so red, he looked like a fierce radish.
"Well." Said Rick. "The commander expects weekly reports. So just look around. We will retrieve you in a month, if you so desire. But we will use the information you get to possibly return to earth, at least some of us."
"Yes sir!" Said Jay.
"Excellent. Have fun with them, guys!" Said Rick, ending the call.
"Well. I get the feeling this will be an adventure. But Rick said a mechanical wolf was with you. Where is h-" Axel started to say, before the wolf in question jumped on him.
"There you are saber!" Said Jay. "Where were you hiding?"
Saber just wagged his big metal tail, and sat down.
"Where are you staying?" Asked Callie.
"We brought a huge ass tent." Said Jay. "I guess we will put it over there." He pointed to a space a short distance from the cabin. Well, we gotta set up camp. I look forward to meeting the others you talked about."
"And they, you." Said Axel.
"Bye!" Called Shelly.
"Well, time to tell cuttlefish that a gang of human teens is sharing his cliff..." Said Axel.
"Gramps won't mind!" Said Callie. "Marie in the other hand..."
"She will live." Chuckled Axel, as the left to discuss the happenings of the day with the agents.
