Chapter 4: The Scent of Pomegranate Smoothie

Surprise, motherf*ckers!! Today's narrator is gonna be me, the great Will Hemmings because.... I have nothing to do. Why am I supposed to narrate again?

Author: Uh.... because I told u to?

Fair enough. So the day so far was stupid as f*ck because we have P.E., the worst period in the universe, right now. I personally hate it because of the harsh routines, us guys have to do.

I'm not gonna tell you about the torture we all went through but I'll tell you what happened after that.

"Hey there, Will," Chase said, smiling at me. We were in the boys' changing room and most of the guys were already in the shower.

"Hey," I said.

"I thought you were a bunking type," Chase said, opening his locker.

"I am. I was caught a lot of times so they called my parents," I said, taking my sweatshirt from my locker.

"Oh." Why is he talking to me?

I took my clothes from my locker and sat down on the bench and that's when Chase said,

"This was you're first P.E. after the complaint?" he asked.

"Sorta," I said, shrugging.

He sat beside me on the bench. "Must've been hard for you," he said, smiling.

"Tell me about it! My legs are killing me!!" I said.

He chuckled. "It'll hurt more tomorrow," he said.

"Oh no!!" I said, worried. "I bet you're used this by now."

"Actually, I am. I'm not interested in bunking so I'm a part of every P.E. session."

"Wait-" I looked at him. "You're not interested in bunking? Don't tell me you never bunked before?"

"Nope."

My jaw dropped. "You're a naïve idiot, you know that?" I said. "This is the last year of high school and you never bunked."

"Not even once," he added.

"You know what? I'm gonna make you bunk a period with me and you're not gonna say, 'No'."

"Alright," Chase said, smiling at me, slightly amused. "I wonder what it feels like."

"Trust me the feels are great," I said, smiling. "But if you get caught, don't blame me."

"I won't."

"Ashton bunking right now, isn't he?" I asked.

"Always. He never attends P.E.," Chase said.

"See? That's what I call 'a good guy'," I said. "I can't believe that the friend of a guy like that never bunked."

"I thought I was the good guy," he said, amused by my comment.

"You're the 'too-good-to-be-true' kind of guy," I said, smiling.

He pouted sadly. "Aww.... I didn't know," he said.

I placed a hand on his shoulder. "There there," I said, sarcastically.

Chase smiled at me. "Are your eyes actually green?" he asked.

"Yeah. Why'd you ask?" I said, furrowing my eyebrows.

I looked down and shook his head with a smile. "Nothing," he said in a low voice. Hmm...... that's kinda suspicious.

"Chase, I done. You can go now," a dude said, coming out of the shower room.

"You wanna go first?" Chase asked me.

"You go ahead," I said, giving him a small smile. He smiled back and went to the shower room with his clothes in hand.

I sighed and took my phone in hand saw that Jenny had sent me messages, which I haven't read.

'I'm gonna kick butt!!'

'Got a basketball game today 😍'

'Wish me luck!! 🤪'

Sent, 58 minutes ago.

I texted back. 'Goodluck, granny!' I smiled mischievously after I sent the message and I gave my old bunking partner, Aria, whose name I saved as 'Musical b*tch', a call.

"'Sup, William," Aria said, answering the call.

"Don't call me that. That's not even my name," I said, annoyed.

She chuckled. "I know. That's why I called you that."

"Where are you?" I asked.

"I'm with Ashton. We're watching Jenny's basketball game."

"Is she winning?" I asked.

"Is that even a question? Of course," Aria said. "Where are you?"

"I'm in the changing room," I said. "Gotta take a shower."

"You better," she said.

"WOOO!!" I heard people howling in the background. I can hear Ashton too.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Jenny scored again," she said, happily. "You're missing all this."

"I wanna come to the game," I said, sadly.

"Then, hurry!!" she said.

"I'll try," I said. "See you there then."

"Yep. Bye!" And I ended the call.

I went in one of the empty stalls, took a quick shower, dressed up and went back to the changing room, while I dried my hair with a towel. I saw Chase, sitting on the bench, smiling at me.

"Hey there," he said.

"Hi," I said. I kept my sweaty clothes in a cover and put the cover in my bag. "You were waiting for me?"

"Yeah!" he said, smiling brightly.

I couldn't help but smile for some reason. "Thanks," I said.

"You should smile more often, Will. It's rare to see you like that," Chase said.

I felt heat rise up to my face. "Shut up, you a§s!!" I said, angrily.

"Sorry," he said, laughing. "But I do have a point."

"Whatever. Jenny's having a basketball game, wanna join me?" I asked him.

"Really? Sure!" he said, excitedly.

"C'mon," I said, walking out of the room.

♡♡♡♡♡

"WHY?!!" Jenny shouted sadly as she had the straw of the juice box between her lips.

"The last time I saw you this sad, was when you dropped the popsicle I bought you, when you were eleven," I said, before drinking from my juice box.

"Shut up, Will!!" she shouted at me.

In case you're wondering why she's sad, her team lost the game and also because twisted her ankle. We're all sitting in the nurse room with juice boxes with us.

"Don't worry. Things like this happens when you play," Ashton said.

"Easy for you to say," Jenny mumbled, grumpily.

She started murmuring curses in her mother tongue (which is Russian) as she drank from the juice box. She does this every time she's sad, anxious or angry.

"So how was P.E.?" Ashton asked us.

"Horrible," Jenny and I said at the same time.

"It was fine," Chase said with a smile.

"By the way, have you guys seen a duck run by anywhere?" Ashton asked.

"Lemme guess, those two blue-heads lost their daughter?" I said, emphasising the last word sarcastically.

"They're the owners of the that duck?" Chase asked.

Jenny burst out laughing, which was shocked because she was grumpy a while ago. "I'm sorry. I just imagined the duck running into the basketball game," she said, laughing.

We laughed at the thought. "You and your stupid imagination," I said.

"I think it would be cool, if that happened," Aria said, smiling.

"I agree," Ashton said.

"Good boy," Aria said. "Hey William, are you gonna attend P.E. from now on?"

"Don't call me that," I said.

"Oh, please say, 'yes'. I'll be lonely without you," Chase pleaded, excitedly.

"Lonely? Ha! Don't make me laugh," I said. "You can befriend anyone in the school with beautiful face of yours."

"You think I'm beautiful?" Chase asked, happily.

My eyes went wide. "No!! Bleh!! You look disgusting as f*ck!!" I said, quickly. "You can make anyone puke with your ugliness."

"Okay," Chase said in teasing tone.

"B*stard," I mumbled, angrily.

"You're right, Will. He does look disgusting," Ashton said, jokingly.

"Hey!" Chase said.

"I think you're a bit above average, when it comes to looks," Aria said.

Jenny faked coughs. "What?! I'm on Will and Ashton's side," she said.

Chase laughed. "Thanks, Aria," he said.

"Hey, the bell's about to ring," Ashton said, after checking the time on his watch.

"A lil' help?" Jenny said.

I was about to go to her to help but Aria already help her up from her seat. They began walking with their arms on each other's shoulders.

"Any help?" I asked, concerned.

"Aw... Will Hemmings is worried about me," Jenny said, teasing me.

"Why wouldn't I be?" I said, glaring at her.

"I'm fine," Jenny said, smiling painfully. "It hurts, that's all."

That girl. She always get competitive when it comes to basketball, even if it means, getting hurt. When will she ever learn?

♡♡♡♡♡

"MOVE AWAY!!" JL shouted as he and LJ chased their duck-ly daughter in the school cafeteria.

"Talk about a wild goose chase," Ashton said, laughing.

"Yeah," I said, watching the two idiots run.

"Were they at the game?" Jenny asked.

"Nah! They lost their duck on the way to the game," Aria said.

"Are they allowed to bring the duck to school?" Chase asked.

"They're raising it here. They're a part of the culture club so obviously they'll be allowed," I said.

"They joined just to keep her here," Jenny said, pointing her fork at Chase.

I felt a stare to my right and I checked who it was. I saw Britney Parkinson, the most popular girl in school, smirking at me, flirtatiously. I gave her a confused look and she winked at me. Yuck!! That b*tch must be out of her mind!!

I stood up from my seat and showed her my favourite finger, the middle one.

A random guy whistled loudly at my action and clapped, which shifted the attention in the room, move to me. I felt proud, obviously. Someone had to show that b*tch to stop.

She's the flirt of the school and is well-known for breaking hearts. I bet she was targeting me. I saw her scoff in disbelief and I sat back down smiling to myself proudly.

Chase looked confused, Ashton and Aria looked happy while Jenny...

"Proud of ya, man!!" she said, smiling proudly as she pat my shoulder.

"Oh, it's nothing," I said, proudly.

A while later, I saw she and her frien, I mean, minions, coming towards me but thankfully, they didn't stop at our table. Wise decision, if you ask.

But...

"Oops!!" I heard Britney say and next thing I knew.....

I was completely covered in smoothie. I saw the others had their jaw dropped and I could feel my blood boiling in rage.

"THAT B#TCH!!" I shouted, angrily.

I turned around and I saw her laughing as she left the room. I'll kill her!!

"Will...." Chase said, handing over a handkerchief with a worried look.

"Thanks," I said, taking it and wiping the drink from my hair and my face. Ashton and Aria, who was sitting beside me, each took one of their own and wipes my jacket's sleeves. "It's fine, you guys. I'll got to the washroom and clean up." I got up from my seat, slowly as I wiped off the smoothie which were about to drip.

"I'll come with you," Chase said, getting up.

"Alright then," I said, walking to the washroom with Chase.

At the washroom....

"Why did you show that to her?" Chase asked, wiping the drink from my jacket on the side of the sink.

"She was trying to flirt with me," I said, taking water in my hand and trying get the smoothie off my, now-sticky, hair.

"Oh. Then you did the right thing," he said.

I tooked water on my hands and washed my face a couple of times, until the drink was no longer there. I began wiping my face with tissues.

"I didn't know you have piercings," I said, hoping it would start a conversation.

"Just two," he said. "I got them 2 years ago."

"I have two too but I wanna get two more," I said.

"It's kinda painful though," he said.

"But it's worth it, don't you think?" I said.

"Well, I kinda regret piercing my ears."

"Why?"

"I dunno. I just do."

"I'm proud of mine," I said, smiling proudly.

"It really suits you," he said, smiling.

"Thanks," I said, returning the smile.

"Okay, I'm done but it still reeks of pomegranates though," he said.

"It's fine. Thanks a lot for the help, Chase."

"Don't worry. I'm always happy to help," he said, smiling brightly as he handed over the jacket. That smile..... "Oh, the bell rang."

"I- uh.... I have Social right now," I said.

"We're in the same class," Chase said.

"How come I never saw you?"

"You tell me."

"Whatever. Let's go," I said, walking out of the washroom.

Thinking about it now, I feel like it's not so bad befriending that idiot and Chase. I guess I was wrong about them.

I think it wouldn't hurt to open up a bit more to them.
