[Ash POV]

"C'mon Snorlax! You gotta try harder. Move your muscles faster." I yelled, Snorlax was having a running session while all of my other Pokemons were resting. They were all in good shape and battle ready, but Snorlax was kinda unfit. 

I had to give him extra training to make him active till the tournament. He had been sleeping and eating since I quit my training all those years ago. 

"Pikaa!(Ash I'm back..)" I heard Pikachu, I turned my head and so him and infernape coming towards me with a bag. I had sent them to the market to bring me those options and revives. 

And yeah, Pikachu and Charizatd returned back from their task yesterday.

"Thanks Pikachu and Infernape. Now go and have some rest after that I'll give you lunch." I said as I took the bag of meds from him. They both went and laid near the other Pokemon. I turned back to Snorlax who was still struggling to run.

"Alright, that's enough come back." I said as Snorlax, slowly walked up to me and and fell on the ground, taking long breaths. "We got to do some serious work on you." I said with a sigh. I went to my bag and took out the Pokemon food packets. I distributed them to all of my Pokemon before going home. 

It was almost noon and I had nothing else to do so I decided to go to the Pokemon centre in Santalune city. After reaching there I went up to a PC. You can say I didn't have a smartphone. I opened the internet and searched for the tournament information. 

Sure enough they had uploaded it there. I went through the rules and then went to the trainers column. All of the participants name were added to this section. So that, trainers could form their strategy against their Pokemon. 

'Ash ketchum' I typed in the search field and it showed me one result. I opened it. It had all of my info.. but the information only what I wanted to be put up.

"Such a pity. Those trainers won't know who they're going to deal with!" I heard a voice behind me. I turned to be met by a familiar face. I smiled instinctively as the person came up beside me. I stood up.

"Hello Ash! It's been such a long time" he greeted as he placed his hand forward. I took his hand in a firm handshake. "It sure has. How are you doing?" I asked, he gave me a small nod. "I'm good, my team has been training hard since the last time we met." He replied.

"So care to have a -" I was interrupted by an explosion from the battle field. We both knew that a battle had just ended and had a smile on our faces. We both rushed to the back of the Pokemon centre. Not forgetting to close the PC first.

When we reached there we saw a tag team battle going on. On one side were a girl and a boy, a twin pair  whom I knew from my school. And on the other side we two boys whom I didn't know. From the looks of it the boys had clearly destroyed the twin's team. 

"Is there anyone who can defeat our pokemon? Or maybe perhaps just give us a perfect battle?" One of the boys yelled out in the crowd, no one answered. I assume everyone was scared of their powerful Pokemon. Obviously any one would, if you had a Dragonite and Metagross in your tag team.

I looked up to my friend, he looked at me and we both smiled knowing we were thinking the same. "We will!" We both yelled together and walked towards the battle field. Other trainers cheered for us as we took our positions. 

"Alright, choose your Pokemons." The other boy said, a boy who was acting as the referee asked our names then started to announce the battle.

"THIS WILL BE A TWO ON TWO TAG BATTLE BETWEEN THE DYNAMIC DUO, JOSH AND ZACK AND THE CHALLENGING DUO, ASH AND HILBERT. ALL TRAINERS CALL OUT YOUR POKEMON." The boy announced.

We both looked at each other with an assured nod and threw out our pokeballs. Luckily I brought one Pokemon with me. And of course Hilbert had his full team.

"Torterra! I choose you!" I shouted as the large turtle Pokemon came out of my pokeball. "Lucario! Take the field!" Hilbert called out as a Lucario came out.

Hilbert then went on to his wrist as he revealed a mega stone. "Lucario! Let's combine our hearts and be one! Mega evolve!" He shouted as he pressed the stone. A glowed came from both Hilbert's wrist and Lucario's wrist and connected. When the glow faded there stood Mega Lucario in his complete majesty.

"Alright! Battle between both the teams now begins!" The boy announced as the twins proceeded to make their move, but we had some other plans.

"Dragonite start off with HURRICANE!" "Metagross, strengthen up with IRON DEFENCE!" Both of them commanded, Dragonite went up to the sky and started flapping his wings to generate a hurricane. While Metagross stood behind and increased his defence.

"Torterra, use LEAF STORM to counter hurricane." I said, Torterra quickly started with his own attack and countered the effects of hurricane, that prevented from Lucario being damaged. 

"Lucario! Go head on with CLOSE COMBAT, target Metagross." Hilbert called, Lucario instantly paced forward and used his punches and kicks to attack Metagross who had his defence increased. But was definitely over powers by Lucario.

"Metagross, block his attacks with BULLET PUNCH." The boy called, "Lucario, use POWER-UP PUNCH, NOW!" just as Metagross was about to start his own wave, Lucario hit him with a powerful uppercut. Metagross stumbled backwards and tried to get his focus. 

Meanwhile Dragonite had been getting tired from continuous flapping for nothing. Torterra was overpowering his hurricane. "Dragonite use DRACO METEOR on Torterra." Dragonite fired an orange ball of fire in the sky which exploded and headed downwards like meteors. 

"Torterra, use FRENZY PLANT! try to knock the meteors." I commanded, Torterra quickly obliged and giant vines grew out from the ground. They blocked the meteors from hitting both Lucario and himself. 

"Lucario, use continued barrage of AURA SPHERES on Dragonite. Take him down." Luacrio nodded and formed two spheres in both hands. He started shooting them continuously, as he formed more and more. Dragonite tried to dodge them by getting to sides but the aura spheres were coming too fast. He got hit by a few when he had to fly further up to avoid them. 

"Dragonite use DRAGON DANCE." Dragonite took a deep breath and flew in an infinity symbol path to power up. Metagross on the other hand was fine now. "Metagross get back with Lucario and use RAPID SPIN!" Metagross hovered up to Lucario who had just stopped from shooting aura spheres. He noticed Metagross and got out of the day just in time for Metagross to go in towards Torterra. 

"Torterra, watch out!" I yelled, Torterra noticed Metagross and used his frenzy vines to smash Metagross but metagross's speed made him cut through the thick vine. He was nearing Torterra, "Quick use STOMPING TANTRUM!" I shouted, the boy's eyes widened, "metagross st-" he started but Torterra had lifted his heavy body on his hind legs and jumped on the spinning metagross. The last attack failing caused the attack power to double. Resulting in metagross to be smashed to the ground.

When Torterra moved back it revealed a dented Metagross. Everyone was shocked, the attack was too much for Metagross to handle, and being too powerful it resulted in a large dent on his head. Torterra quickly used his vines to lift metagross.

The battle had been stopped, both the boys and the Dragonite came up to Metagross. We too ran to the field to inspect. "No Metagross!" The boy was in tears. I was also unsure of how to react. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to do that!" I apologized, "QUICK CALL NURSE JOY!" The other boy yelled. Some people quickly ran inside to call Joy. 

His trainer pulled out his pokeball to return him, "No don't. His injury might get worse if you return him. We have to take him as it is." I said, the boy nodded. Nurse Joy came soon and was shocked to see the Pokemon like this. "How did this happen!?" She asked in astonishment, "It was my fault I didn't know, my Torterra used Stomping tantrum at point blank range after an unsuccessful attack." I replied, she shook her head as she inspected him. "No, I can't do anything, this is beyond my control. I don't have any equipment to heal such injury." She said in worry. "Then where should we take him?!" The boy asked in worry. 

"It's not possible. His injury is too much, we can't transfer him. The doctor whom I know is in lumiose city." She replied, "I know! We can call for the legendary Charizard!" Hilbert said out loud. Everyone looked at him with incredulous expression. "What? Don't you know he helps those who are in need and can hear you from miles away." He told, still no one seemed to believe him. 

"It's true, and it's our only way." I said as I back away and cupped my mouth with my hands and shouted at the top of my lungs. "CHARIZARD! HELP US!" I took a long breath after that as everyone was staring at me. Nurse Joy was measuring his magnetic impulse just to make sure he's alive. 

"It's no use! He's just a fairytale, he won't come!" The boy said as he now kneeled near his dying partner. But when his all hope was lost a loud draconic roar was heard. Everyone looked into the direction of sound and soon a big dragon figure appeared in the skies. Everyone cheered up and the boy was also delighted to see him.

Charizard landed in front of us, and grunted softly. He looked scary as hell and I'm sure no one wanted to talk to him. "Charizard we need to take this Metagross to lumiose city Pokemon centre. He's dying!" Hilbert said, Charizard nodded and picked up Metagross in his muscular arms. We beckoned for the boy to get on Charizard's back. When he got up, Charizard flapped his humongous wings and flew off.

"Now let's reach there too!" I said and we took off running toward lumiose city.
