✿Chapter Four✿
Nathaniel's P.O.V:
"And... that should do it for our storyboard!"
I inform Marc as I turn myself in my chair towards him. A more relived like smile on his face as he closes up his black notebook and tucks it in between his red binder. I scratch the back of my head as I sigh. Wow, another days of comic book making in the process done. At least until we can spare more time together later.
"T-That's great! S-So... w-what now?"
Marc questions me as we share a soft stare to each other, a pause of silence in between us as I start thinking. Oh right, that little talk I wanted to have with Marc! I stand up from my chair as I head towards the exit door of the art room. Marc quickly follows after me as I hear Alix say goodbye to me as she continues her work on her large mural.
"I just remembered that I wanted to take you somewhere so we can talk! How does some fresh chocolate croissants sound to you?"
"T-That sounds great!" Marc informs me with a more positive tone. I look over my shoulders as I look at the slightly taller male right behind me. His more soft rosy lips shape more into a smile as he still keeps his black notebook close to him.
I swear I can feel something burn onto my cheeks. But, no way I can really be in love with one of my own best friends? I mean, I already am still hurt by Marinette's rejection, and Ladybug is already a big one in that place. Come on Nath, what is going on with you these days?
"N-Nath? I-Is everything going o-okay?" Marc questions me with both curiosity and concern. I snap back to reality as I turn to him again.
"Huh? Oh yeah, I am! I was just kinda deep into thought for a second there..."
Wow, how much more plain can that sound? I mentally facepalm myself as I twirl a piece of my own red hair in between my fingers. Marc and I make it out of the school as we begin to walk to our destination. My hands on my satchel strap as Marc keeps quiet behind me. Why can't I just say something to him? Anything!? I release a small sigh out of my mouth as Marc catches on real quick, quicker then I believe.
"I-Is something w-wrong? I-If your t-tired, I understand if you want t-to c-cancel... I-."
Sudden sparks go off in my body as I spin myself around back towards Marc as I grab a hold of his lower arms in a cross over his black notebook at his chest.
"N-NO DON'T! Please, I-I'm fine."
A explosion of blushing erupts on both my own and Marc's face. I retract my hands back as I clear my throat, what's all that about me? I look back to Marc as he scratches the back of his head with the same blush on his face. Slightly biting his lower lip in the process.
"Sorry, But... the place I wanna take you is going to come up real soon! So, don't worry about anything."
Marc nods to me, no words, just nodding. I turn myself back around as I continue forward. I peek over my shoulder one last time to see if Marc is still really following after me. He is, but his eyes are at the cement of the sidewalk as he hugs his black notebook closely. Perfect me, I just need to ruin a nice, pleasant moment of us together.
Marc's P.O.V:
My eyes are stuck to the ground... I'm actually not kidding, I can't take my eyes off the ground for a second. Nathaniel, touched me, but... it feels just like an angel just blessed me. Not just any angel... but, a angel named Nathaniel. Yeah, I definitely have a crush on him no more lying.
'Nathaniel...'
I finally force my eyes back up as I stare at the back of my best friend, and... crush. I can already feel my own heart beat more faster as instincts make me bite the inner parts of my lips. Nathaniel stops in his tracks as I stop right after him. He turns back to me with his ocean blue eye with a more sheepish and awkward like look. I don't even care of anything else right now, but, I think my face is still that same pink blush from before.
"Marc, we're here!" Nathaniel informs me as he points to the small bakery with the sweet aroma of fresh baked macaroons and breads. He hurries inside as I just barely make it in after Nathaniel, I stare at the delicious food items in displays as Nathaniel reaches into his satchel and pulls out his wallet. Man... I feel so bad to make him waste money on me-, "Hey Marc! Want some chocolate croissants like I promised?"
"H-Huh? Oh, yeah... s-sounds nice!"
Nathaniel smiles as he turns around to order our food. I turn back around as I walk further into the cafe or bakery in other cases for a place to sit. Keeping my notebook close to me as I take a deep inhale. Perfect, some time to unwind myself from Nathaniel for a moment.
"Ah!"
I snap my head towards the noise as I spot a more shorter old man crash into me by accident as the sudden rush of hot tea soaks into my rainbow tie-die shirt. I stare at him for a moment as I simply kneel down to him. Well, at least my notebook can now smell nice. I grab some napkins off the left side of me and dry myself off. Then help clean up anything else of the mess.
"I am so sorry young man... please, forgive me-."
"I-It's not a-a problem sir! P-Please... m-maybe I can help get you some more tea-?"
"That's very generous... Mr?"
"I'm M-Marc... M-Marc Anciel."
"That's very generous Marc Anciel, but... I believe that you've already done a big favor for me."
"F-Favor? B-But... I-I haven't done-."
"You've done and shown me kindness Mr. Anciel, that's all that needs to be done."
The man shifts himself around me as he swiftly leaves the bakery. I look back down at myself at the quickly cooling hot liquid on my shirt and red hoodie as I keep trying to dry myself off. Great. Nathaniel catches up to me as he stares at me with mountains of napkins in both of my hands. He hurries over to my side as immediately all the emotions in my heart switch into high gear.
"Whoa, Marc, what happened here?" Nathaniel questions me, holding a medium plate of fresh chocolate croissants in his hands. I flash at him a soft smile as I shortly throw away all the napkins.
"N-Nothing! Just... a-accidentally crashed into someone t-that's all!" I inform Nathaniel as he hums to me. Placing the chocolate croissants to a very conveniently empty table right next to us.
I go towards the table as I take the typical mental chair as Nathaniel takes the comfy booth seat. My artist crush reaches for the first chocolate croissant as he takes it back to himself and bites into it.
"So, I was thinking... Maybe, the finale comic can wait."
"W-What? W-What're you trying t-to say?"
"Simple, I... was getting kinda interested into that dance... And, I need your advice on something."
My heart goes far more into high gear as a lump is stuck in my throat. Who is this person he wants my advice on? God, maybe this whole thing to agree to come to is all a mistake.
"S-Sure, w-what do you n-need?"
"Your the best writer I know... s-so..."
"Yeah?"
"I need your help on writing a letter, I'm p-planning on asking..."
"Asking? Asking w-who?"
"Asking, Lila Rossi to the dance..."
