It's been a month since I started school, and the twins spend every possible moment with me at school. Other kids don't dare to look at us and do whatever they tell them.

It feels wrong to have people doing whatever I ask them to, the twins seem perfectly content with their classmates' obedience.

We started training on my third week and I got my own personal trainer that they called in. It was surprisingly easy to summon my power and control but the running, core work, and agility lessons were difficult. My body was just not used to the brutal training that they were putting me through but slowly it started getting easier as my body got faster and stronger along with my mind. 

Iris was distant and always kept her head down. The twins always followed her around that corner and she would sometimes come to school with bruises.

It was the end of the day and as per usual and I waved goodbye, she mumbled a goodbye in turn. She trembled as she walked around that corner and when the twins followed her their grins sent chills down my spine.

I followed the twins instead of walking home (I had been walking home myself for two weeks now), and my heart thundered as I turned the corner.

My body froze as a scream rips through the air, Iris writhes on the floor, and her body moves in a way that suggests that she is in immense pain. Leila and Sara must be using their powers on her, what could she have done to deserve this?

"Thanks Iris, I really needed to let some steam off," Leila said with a sickening grin, a blazing heat coursed through me, and a deadly calm settled over me.

"Let her go." The words were so simple and weak in another's mouth but in mine they were terrifying. Power echoed in every word, my body was completely engulfed in flames but all I could see were red-hot flames.

True fear was in their eyes as they looked at me, they knew what I was capable of. Iris coughed and tried to lift herself up but her weak body immediately collapses.

I falter at the sight of Iris but my rage comes back with a burning rage. I can only see red and all I can think of is Iris.

"You deserve to die!" my voice doesn't sound like mine but the words were mine all the same.

I focus on the girls and their bodies go up in flames, they scream from pain as their skin burns and their hair catches fire. I move forward in a blink of an eye and before I know what I'm doing my hands surround their throats and the fire disappears as I choke their life away.

"Stop!" the voice doesn't come from them and I turn my head to see iris leaning against the wall looking at me with tears streaming down her face. Her eyes stare at me with terror and I drop the girls and stumble towards her.

She takes a step back and my rage disappears in a second but crippling panic and fear fills the hole it left. I start backing away from her and staring at my hands, she looks at me and starts taking slow steps towards me with a hand in front of me as if I was a wild animal.

" S-stay away f-from me!" I yell, images of my burning mother fill my vision. My breathes come short and fast as I slowly back up. Steam rises from my face tears come and immediately evaporate due to my hot skin.

"Look at me" a commanding voice breaks my spiral and I look up. Iris approaches me, her body is covered in water keeping her safe from my heat.

"It's ok, just follow my instructions...ok?" she waits for my answer and when I nod she continues. "Focus on your breathing, in and out" she takes deep breaths with me and I feel my temperature go down as I get calmer.

" Think of your favorite place in the world" I try but it's impossible to think of joy,

"I-I can't" I stammer she nods and takes a deep breath.

"Then I'll tell you about mine, there's this grass hill just outside town that I ride my bike to. The sunset and sunrise is phenomenal but my favorite part is when the sun sets and I lay down on the hill and look up to the stars. A feeling of total peace takes over me and I feel absolutely euphoric, nothing can touch me"

I listen intently and I imagine myself next to her, the boiling rage subsided and a feeling of calm fell over me. My cheeks are still wet when I open my eyes but my eyes are dry.

"Thanks" I whisper, she smiles and I feel my cheeks burn red.

"Why don't we go to your house and cool down" a warm smile made her face shine,

"We have ice cream" I blurt out, damn it she dazzled me. She laughs and takes my hand,

"You lead the way, yeah" I nod, my face still blushes and start on our way.
