Ezra followed his master down the isle of frozen bodies, trying not to make it obvious he was watching her.

Later, he would ask Kanan why he rescued her. He had no idea what she was doing there. The only thing they knew about her was her name, and that wasn't a lot to go by.

"So, er...what time did you come from?" He asked her, trying to restart conversation.

"Clone Wars," Ahsoka muttered, not meeting his eyes. He felt his own widen. Glancing at Kanan, he wondered if they may have known each other.

"Where you in the middle of it all?" Sabine fell into step alongside her, helmet tucked in between her arm and hips. If Ezra hadn't of known better, he'd have said her expression darkened considerably.

"Right in the middle of it," she said, scowling. Ezra watched her eyes flicker over to Kanan, her eyes pausing at his lightsaber. Obviously realising what it was, she stopped dead. Ezra, who wasn't expecting it, walked into her, as their arms collided.

"Sorry," he muttered. But Ahsoka didn't appear to have been listening. A frown appeared on her face. Ahead of them, Ezra noticed Kanan stopping and turning round, looking for the cause of their stop. He opened his mouth to say something, but Ahsoka got there first.

"You're a Jedi," her voice was suddenly cold, and it sent a chill through his body; and he shivered. Kanan frowned.

"Yeah..." he said slowly, maybe not understanding where she was going. Ezra glanced back at her as she folded her arms, frown deepening.

"I don't trust Jedi," she announced, taking in a sharp breath, which only Sabine missed. She was staring oddly at them.

"Why not?" Ezra enquired, facing her properly. She turned to face him, still frowning.

"Does it matter?"

"Kinda," he admitted, scratching the back of his head. It was certainly annoying him. Why wouldn't she trust them?

Ahsoka turned, throwing one last look at Kanan before stalking off in the opposite direction. Just in time, Ezra leapt forward, grabbing her wrist.

"Hey!" they shouted at each other as one, then glared at each other. Behind him, Sabine stifled a laugh. He scowled. Ahsoka wrenched her arm free, glaring at him.

"I don't get it!" She cried at him, "I don't get why you want me or what you want!" Ezra glanced over at his master for help. He didn't know the answer to her question.

"I'm not a Jedi, but I promise you can trust Kanan. And Ezra. You can trust both of them," Sabine announced. Unfortunately, Ahsoka looked far from convinced. She snorted and carried on, and after Ezra and Sabine had shared a look, they ran after her.

"Look, I'm a Jedi. Well, a padawan anyway. Why can't you give us a chance? It's not like we're gonna kill you," he said, waving his hand in the air to make his point.

"Say what you want," she snapped, "I only ever trusted one. He was the only one who didn't try to kill me,"

Ezra stopped dead, and this time Sabine walked into him. Kanan had his mouth slightly open, as if he was sure he'd misheard, and Sabine looked lost for words.

"What?" Ezra asked, confused.

"You heard me," she hissed, walking away,"Jedi are betrayers!" Ezra looked on after her. Jedi were betrayers? That was the first he'd heard of such things. Throwing a questioning glance at Kanan, he waited for his master to come back.

"What's she talking 'bout?"

Kanan sighed, placing a hand on his lightsaber.

"You know Ezra, I have no idea. I don't know anything about her. I just freed her, because, well, her name. It sounded familiar. Whether it's her first or last name I don't know. But one of them means something," he admitted, looking after her. Beside him, Sabine slid her helmet on.

"Well, are we gonna go find her or what? She doesn't know anything about now, there'll be trouble if the empire find her," she ran off, Ezra and Kanan slightly behind. They ran to the end of an isle, pausing at a set of three joining isles.

"We'll split up," Kanan told them, taking the right. Sabine shrugged, taking the left, leaving Ezra to carry on forward.

Trying not to think about the frozen people surrounding him, he crept forward, hand on his lightsaber,
should he need it. Using the force, he searched his surroundings, looking for her presence in the force. There was Sabine's....and Kanan's too, but wait...no Ahsoka.

Ezra paused, looking behind him. It was eerily silent, the occasional footsteps, but not near him. Then, as he started forward again, he noticed the staircase for the first time. He hurried over, watching the slightly ajar door at the top.

It creaked ever so slightly as he lay a foot on it, but he was confident it would hold him. Unsure of whether Kanan would approve of him going up, he went quietly, throwing a nervous glance behind him. He was all clear.

He made his way up, wincing at every creak, waiting for Kanan to tell him off. But his master didn't appear. At the top of the staircase, the door had disturbed the dust, leaving a clear patch on the floor; it had been opened recently.

Ezra slid through the small gap, keeping an eye out for Ahsoka. Out of the corner of his eye his saw a shelf with torched on. He hurried over, wiping years worth of dust and cobwebs off. Thankfully, it still worked.

He walked down a small corridor, heading towards a doorway at the end, which appeared to lead down another hallway. For once, he was careful not to kick or knock anything over. He didn't want to give himself away.

Eventually, he came to an open doorway. He paused, turning off his touch, waiting for the right moment to go in. He heard a few scuffles, then a clang of metal, and he knew it was almost definitely Ahsoka. He winced when he heard something hiss and spit, almost like sparks in a fire. Frowning, he wondered if she was going to burn the entire place down. Then the smell of smoke wafted through both rooms, and he knew he had to take action.

He darted in, around the door frame, lingering in the shadows. Ahsoka was bent over a small device in the corner, fingers flying as she attached wires together. Then she reached over and closed a hatch, before pulling a funny shaped handle down.

Suddenly light filled the room, and flashes across a control board told Ezra she'd restarted the power. It was going to be nice for Kanan and Sabine, suddenly standing in the spot light. Nice way to scare someone.

But apparently she hadn't finished. She ran to the control board, turning on a holopad, scanning it's data. A white backpack sat at her feet, an assortment of holograms, tools, holopads and other devices tucked neatly in it. Ahsoka was engrossed in her work, still not noticing Ezra, hovering in the doorway.

"Er...Ahsoka?" He asked, as she span around, eyes blazing in anger. She slammed the holopad in her bag, glaring at him.

"What do you want?" she snapped, glaring at him. He paused.

"You don't know anything. You don't know about the empire, the laws, the stormtroopers, Sith lords, or the rebellion. You don't know anything! The Clone Wars, it ended before I was born!" He tried to explain to her, but he didn't quite know how to explain. How did he put it into words?

She shook her head.

"It won't make any difference to me Ezra. I lost all I had ages ago. I have nothing to loose anyway, whatever happens to me, it won't make a difference," she turned, around, slipping handfuls of data cards in her bag. He frowned, walking over to her.

"You can't have nothing. You must have something, even a friend! You always have something!" He exclaimed, denying. There was no way she had nothing. He would help her find something if he had to.

"My friends? I had one. He could be anywhere now. Even dead," she replied, but Ezra knew she believed him to be alive. She just wanted him to go.

"Why don't you trust us?" He watched Ahsoka pause, ever so slightly, as her hands found various buttons.

"I don't trust people. They take advantage of it," she sighed, shoulders drooping. Ezra moved to stand next to her.

"Why would we take advantage of you? We barely know anything about you," she turned to look at him, frowning.

"I used to trust everyone. I went on to regret it. Bitterly. My best friend tried to murder me, and I trusted her with my life," Ahsoka told him, looking him in the eye. He looked away.

"But...why?" He didn't understand. There wasn't any logic to anything.

"I never knew," she walked away, slinging the bag up onto her shoulders. Ezra watched her go, left with a mixture of emotions he couldn't explain. What had happened to not letting her go? He hurried after her, darting around the various pieces of electrical equipment.

"Wait!" he called. But it was too late. She'd disappeared again.

"You let her go?" Kanan watched him carefully, as Ezra nervously scratched his neck.

"Well...yeah. I went after her again, but she'd disappeared," he explained, watching Sabine play with the control boards. She frowned.

"Well, as far as I can tell, all she did was fix it. But there's a fair few things missing, including data cards and holopads," she told them slowly, frowning. Ezra frowned. Ahsoka was one weird Togruta. He had no idea about her, but he felt as if he should know her better.

"Spector Two?" Kanan's voice woke him from his thoughts, and he looked up to see Kanan speaking to Hera through his commlink.

"Uh huh?" She answered, sounding calm and ready.

"Her name's Ahsoka Tano. We don't know a lot else, but we do know she doesn't like Jedi...and, well, gone," he said, glaring at Ezra. He threw his hands up in mock defence.

"Gone? As in ran away?"

"Yep," he frowned when she didn't answer, "Hera...?"

"She moves pretty quickly. Do you want me to pick her up?"

"Wait! What?" Ezra leapt over to his master, pulling a face, "She can't have got over there already! It's only been two minutes!"

Hera laughed.

"Well, you better hurry up then!"The commlink turned off and the three of them shared a look. Sabine turned the power back off and they began to make their way back to the Ghost.
