DAY FIVE

You sighed and slowly turned the small rabbit you were cooking for dinner. You managed to catch it a while ago and somehow was able to kill it with a stick. Besides that one titan, no others had attempted to confront you. They would look at you, turn around, and walk away. You didn't know what was going on anymore, but you didn't care. As long as you're alive, it doesn't matter how.

'It's been two days since I escaped from that dungeon... I don't know how I'm still alive...' You thought, staring into the crackling fire. You removed the cooked rabbit from the fire and began to eat it. It wasn't the best tasting thing, but it would have to do for now.

'I don't know how long I'll be out here.' You thought while pulling out its leg bone. You groaned as you realized how long it would take to get to the walls. You're too tired to walk right now, the only source of water you had was a lake, but you can't take the fucking lake with you, and you have nothing to carry it in, short of your hands, but that's hard. You let out a sigh and rested your forehead against the back of your hand.

"Fuck."

Hanji has had enough. Enough. You were somewhere out there, alone, injured, and extremely susceptible to titans. You needed to be found, not only for your sake, but for the others as well. Especially Levi's.

"Commander Erwin!" Hanji yelled, barging through his office doors. Erwin, totally expecting this, calmly looked up from his paperwork. "Maybe Y/n's not dead and she's wandering aimlessly! We have to find her!" Hanji slammed her hands onto the desk and glared at him with all her might. Erwin just sighed. As much as he doesn't want to waste precious soldiers and resources, Hanji would never stop pestering him and Levi would continue to be in his gloomy mood. He had no choice but to give in.

"I understand. I'm apologize for my uncouth behavior. You're allowed to bring five people along with you. Choose wisely," Erwin agreed, going back to his papers. Hanji squealed, barely containing her happiness.

"Shorty!!! Get up, we're going out!!!"

"... where?" He asked, glancing up at her.

"We're going to find Y/n! Duh!" Hanji replied. At this, Levi perked his head up.

"Fine," he agreed. Hanji squealed, jumping up into the air.

Hanji's small squad consisted of Eren, Armin, Mikasa, Levi, and Mike.

"Alright, our mission is to find Y/n! Eren, Armin, Mikasa, you're with each other. Mike, Levi, you're with me. We have the flares, let's go!" Hanji said while charging on her horse through the gates.

"Wait you shitty glasses!" Levi shouted after her.

Once you were done eating, you drank as much water as you could and started to run away from your little camp, putting out the fire first. In about half an hour, you exited the forest. However, due to the flat land, titans were easier to spot and so were you. One of them saw you and made a beeline straight towards you. Not to mention it was an abnormal. You began running as fast as your legs could carry you.

'Not good, not good, not good!!' You thought. You looked all around for any cover, but your eyes only landed on a small pond filled with water that magically appeared there. (Thank you Ruby-chan~ Edit: Shut the fuck up.) You looked back behind you and saw the abnormal titan running towards you.

"WHO GIVES A SHIT AT THIS POINT?!?! FUCK IT!" You yelled while sprinting towards the pond. You took a large breath and dove straight to the bottom of the pond where it was darker. You looked up and saw the titan kneel next to the water. It stuck its arm into the water, making you sink further down. It clenched its hand, catching nothing, before slowly retracting it. It stood up, and looked both ways before walking off in a different direction. You couldn't hold your breath anymore, so as you were going up to the surface, you exhaled, bubbles coming out of your nose. You slowly peeked your head out enough to get air, but still remain undetected. You spun around in a complete 360 and once you figured it was safe, you emerged from the water, flopping onto the grass like a fish. You looked down at your clothes that you found in the underground lab and saw they were completely soaking wet.

"Well great, I have to deal with a second skin now..." You muttered before hauling your wet ass up and beginning to walk again.

'I can't do anything as long as I have no weapons or transportation.' You thought. The abnormal seemed a distance away to your relief, so you just kept going. Forwards and forwards.

"Alright, the three of them headed towards the left, so let's stay on this course! Maybe we'll find her easier then!" Hanji said.

"Tch. We better find her, shit glasses," Levi said from her side.

"Don't worry, we will! Besides, we need her to straighten you up again!" Hanji called back. "Mike! Do you smell her?" Mike sniffed the air like the precious bloodhound he is.

"I don't smell her," he replied.

"Great," Hanji muttered. They soon came close to one of the forests.

"Wait. I smell something else. I smell smoke from a fire," Mike added. Hanji's face then lit up, a large grin appearing.

"It's her! It's Y/n! Where's the smoke?!" Hanji screamed at Mike with a crazed look in her eye that honestly scared him a little. Mike calmly pointed towards their right, making Levi's eyes light up with hope. "What are we waiting for?! Let's go!!" She changed her horses direction and shot a green flare to signal the direction change.

"Look! A green flare. We need to change directions," Armin pointed out. Eren and Mikasa nodded, changing their courses as well.

"I wonder if they know where Y/n is and that's why they changed direction so suddenly," Eren thought out loud.

"That could be it, but it's a big world. She can be anywhere," Mikasa blankly pointed out.

"You're right, but Commander Y/n isn't the type to not try to get back to the walls. Besides, who knows how injured she is," Armin said. Eren's and Mikasa's faces darkened at Armin's statement.

"Guy, I have something to tell you," Eren spoke. The two of them turned to look at him.

"What is it Eren?" Mikasa asked. Eren pondered about whether or not he should tell, but it's been eating at him for a while now. Three damn years actually. He exhaled deeply, before looking straight at them.

"Commander Y/n and I... are cousins..."
 Mikasa's and Armin's eyes widened at him.

"What do you mean?" Armin asked.

"Her mom and mine were sisters. They stopped seeing each other after I was born. They lived in a different district."

"So she's blood related to you?" Armin asked. Eren nodded.

"But you have to promise not to say anything to anyone about this! Commander Y/n said it could put me and her in danger and possibly you guys too," Eren said. Armin and Mikasa looked at each other before nodding towards Eren.

"We promise," they said simultaneously.

"Footprints?" Hanji repeated.

"It's no doubt Y/n's... but how far is the trail?" Levi spoke.

"You don't think that guy did anything to her... do you?" Mike asked. Levi unconsciously clenched his fists. Levi's brows almost unnoticeably furrowed.

"Well, let's go find her. Time's a wasting, besides, it's almost dusk," Hanji pointed out, looking at the setting sun. The two males nodded and hopped back onto their horses, continuing to follow the footprints with the golden trio not that far behind them.

'It's almost dark out... I need to find shelter... but how? It's almost flat land...' You thought, looking around.

'There's cover in bushes, but get cuts, bruises, and scrapes? Not to mention poison fucking ivy?' You sighed before walking over to a tree and slowly sitting down into the small hollow of it and leaning my head against the tree trunk.

'This'll have to do for now.' You thought, slowly closing your eyes.
