BONDING TIME!!!
It was late at night, maybe close to one in the morning. You couldn't sleep. Like usual. So you decided to walk around the castle for a bit to clear your head and tire you out. Outside on a ledge, or balcony, you spotted the trio looking out into the night sky. Don't ask me how you got there, you just followed wherever your feet took you.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" You spoke up, coming out of the shadows. The three of them turned around, startled slightly.
"Sergeant!" Farlan exclaimed, his eyes wide with shock and confusion. You waved at the three of them lazily.
"Yo," you replied back. Farlan and Isabel kept looking at you while Levi turned back around, avoiding your gaze. You noticed this.
"Levi, you know I'm not holding this against you," you said softly while walking up next to him. You took a seat on a separate block of stone. Levi slowly turned and looked at you with slight surprise. Even though it wasn't that obvious on his face. "If I was still living in the underground I would do anything to live above ground. So I don't blame you in the least." He said nothing after that and gazed back forward.
"Ya know, we've... wanted to ask you some things...." Isabel spoke up quietly.
"Ask away then," you replied with a shrug.
"Well... why were you living in the underground?" Farlan asked first.
"Well, I was born there." You leaned back onto your hands.
"Really?" Isabel inquired, a little shocked. You nodded at her.
"Yeah. It's not the most luxurious place, but I was with my family... or what was my family..." You replied, lowering your voice at the end, though they didn't notice it.
"Well, what about your family?" Isabel asked. You thought for a second on how to answer that question the simplest way.
"I'm an only child, as you could tell, and my father abandoned my mom and I when I was younger. My mom fell ill when I was nine and wasn't strong enough to go out, or let alone get out of bed. So I had to, and that's where I learned how to fight, how to learn to kill in order to survive," you explained. They nodded a bit. It seemed like everyday for them. People who lived above ground would normally cringe at you saying that, but not them. To them it's just the normal. Which it shouldn't be, but they can't help it.
"When did you join the Survey Corps?" Farlan asked.
"Well, my mom died when I was 10, so I was alone for two years. That's when the Survey Corps came down to retrieve me. I joined the Trainee squad, and yeah," you replied. They were silent for a little which made you curious.
"Anything else? You're awfully quiet," you spoke up.
"It's just... how did you become a Sergeant?" Farlan asked.
"Oh... well, on my second expedition, when I was fifteen, Commander Shadis was badly injured and was unable to lead the expedition. On top of that, Titans were coming, so I filled in the roll. I was able to get everyone back inside the walls without many deaths. Apparently, I impressed him and the higher ups so much, I was all of a sudden promoted to Sergeant. Don't ask me, I almost passed out when Shadis said that. Actually, I threw up. Either with anxiety, or just pure shock," you replied while laughing wholeheartedly. "I was such a wimp when I was younger— wait... that was a year ago..." You realized while snickering at your own forgetfulness. Time goes by slower when your life is at the mercy of man-eating monsters.
"You laugh at yourself a lot, don't you?" Isabel asked. You sighed, swinging your legs back at forth.
"I may be a Sergeant, but I'm still a kid, ya know? Besides, I like to laugh at myself. Not degradingly, but to show that it's okay to laugh at yourself sometimes," you replied. Isabel nodded.
"Hey hey! How tall are you?" She asked suddenly. You blinked at her.
"Eh? I'm 5'6," you replied, a little dumbfounded at the question.
"Really? You're taller than Levi too," Farlan said. You chuckled.
"Yeah, I'm a little above average. I get that from my mom's side. Just makes kicking ass easier," you replied while smiling. "So, what about you guys? What's your story?" They didn't say anything and just looked down, expressions dropping. Your face immediately dropped as well.
"It's okay if you don't want to say. We all have things we don't want other people to know," you reassured.
"Are you sure?" Isabel asked. You nodded.
"Yeah, don't talk about it if you're not comfortable." You gave the three a small smile.
"I-I'm sorry!" Isabel suddenly exclaimed, surprising Farlan, Levi, and you. You tilted your head, confused.
"Sorry? What for?" You inquired.
"It's just that... you've been so generous and kind to us all this time, and there's no way we'll be able to ever repay you," she replied.
"Wait, hold on, who ever said you had to 'repay' me?" You asked, straightening up.
"I... well, I just felt like it was necessary...." She explained quietly. You sighed while jumping off of the ledge and walking over to her.
"That won't be necessary," you said while ruffling her hair. "Besides, you have other things to worry about. Like the expedition that's going to happen in a few days."

All of the Survey Corps were all ready to go outside and some for the first time. Shadis was in front of them and you were to his side.
"Levi, Isabel, Farlan! I can't wait for you to see the outside! But don't lose focus unless you want to die!!" You advised, which probably didn't help since it kinda snuffed out their joy.
"Open the gates!!" Shadis ordered.
"Let's show them the strength of humanity!" You cheered. There was a large battle cry and the gates were fully open. You all charged your horses forwards, leaving the walls. You looked back and saw the trio mesmerized by the outside, which made you chuckle slightly.
"Sergeant, I need you to be with me and Erwin." Shadis instructed. You nodded.
"Sure, but let me tell my squad something quick," you replied before slowing your horse down to their pace.
"Yo! I need to be with Shadis, but y'all should be fine, right? Besides, you have Anaka," you said, gesturing to the blonde who just nodded.
"So—"
"THREE TEN METER TITANS!!!" Someone screamed. You snapped your head forward and saw three of them running up towards you all.
"SHADIS! I GOT THIS ONE!!" You shouted while flying off of your horse. As you drew near the Titan, it opened its mouth to try and bite you , but you pushed off of its teeth before it was able to close its mouth. You launched yourself behind the Titan, slashing the nape. You then launched off of that Titan and swiftly killed the other one while the third one shot its hand out towards you. You shot your hook into its shoulder and slid up against its arm before doing a spinning stag and slicing the nape. You landed on the ground, but not without rolling first and quickly mounting back onto your horse.
"Titans eliminated!!" You yelled.
"Amazing!!! I never realized Y/n was that strong!!" Isabel exclaimed in awe.
"It's no wonder she's a sergeant at such a young age," Farlan added, albeit quieter.
"Of course she is! Why do you think she's a Sergeant? It was a mistake to doubt her strength from the beginning!" Anaka yelled, causing Isabel to slightly flinch.
"I know, but she might even be better than Levi..." Farlan muttered.

'I hate when people talk about me...' You thought, irritated while riding alongside Shadis. Your squad was in a separate section of the terrain. A little while later, several Titans were being called out, and two members engaged, but one was about to get caught.
"WATCH OUT!!" You shouted out. Luckily, he heard you and spun around, avoiding the teeth of the Titan and successfully slicing the nape. You looked back towards where the other two titans were, and saw the trio going straight for them
Ja ne!
