Split Paths
Lucifer let out a shout, slamming his hand against the steering wheel of his car as he sat in the driveway of an abandoned building. He couldn't believe that the bitch of a boss had fired him over his relationship. Over something personal and completely not related to his work at all. It completely pissed him off.
It had been two weeks since being fired, and he has yet to find a job. He knew that Sam and Gabriel was getting suspicious about his lack of bringing home money, but he just kept telling them that he was finishing a big project. He'll get paid then.
The worst thing was that there was plenty of places offering open job spaces, but none of them would accept him. If it wasn't for his name - which he got denied for quite a bit - then it was for his relationship. He didn't mention his relationship of course, but if the interviewer asked, he wasn't going to lie. He wasn't ashamed of his love, but other people sure seemed to be.
The next noise that followed was a whimper, leaning his head back and letting it rest against the head of the seat. He couldn't believe that he lost his job. How was his family going to be supported on only one income? What was he going to do?
A tap on the window brought him out of his woes. He looked over, seeing a man with a gruff and angular appearance hidden under the roughness of his beard. Lucifer frowned, but rolled down his window, just enough that he could hear the man, but not enough where he could reach through the window.
"Can I help you?" Lucifer asked, his eyes narrowed. He wasn't in the mood to be friendly. The man only grinned, rubbing his thumb across his lip thoughtfully. Lucifer decided he hated that look.
"Well, if you are who I think you are, then yes, you can." The man offered, his eyes twinkling with eager and - it made Lucifer want to vomit - lust. The blond Novak blanched, shaking his head.
"Sorry, not who you were looking for." Lucifer said, his hand moving to roll the window back up when he was stopped by the man's fingers getting in the way.
"It certainly is a shame. I would have paid you quite well for your.....services." The man said, a sigh escaping his lips as he looked over Lucifer's face. He had a knowing look in his eyes, as if he knew what would happen if he said that. Regrettably, Lucifer was actually considering the offer.
"What kind of payment?" Lucifer asked, feeling his stomach twist with nervousness. He knew that he shouldn't be even considering it, that doing this would hurt Sam if he ever found out, but without money, they wouldn't be able to keep their kids, and Lucifer couldn't let that happen. Plus, he could stop as soon as he got a job.
"I'd say...a hundred dollars a time. I think that's appropriate for your looks alone. If you do good, I might even give you a tip." The man said with a wink. Lucifer shifted uncomfortably in his seat but he knew that hundred dollars would be more than he had now.
"Ah....how many times do you plan on doing it?" Lucifer asked, almost timidly. The man only shook his head, seeming to enjoy the way Lucifer became nervous.
"Well, I have some buddies here as well, so...." The man offered with a suggestive tone. Lucifer frowned, looked down and almost started to shake his head. "Don't worry. We'll all use protection."
Lucifer screwed his eyes shut, trying to make up his mind. IT was when the man huffed that he finally opened his eyes, looking dejected and defeated. "Fine. I'll do it."

To say Lucifer was ashamed would be an understatement as he slowly made his way back to his car. Every single step amplified the throbbing in his back that made him almost wimper, unable to think about anything but than thought that this was how he had always felt when his father was around. He felt thankful to Castiel at the moment.
When he managed to sit down in his car, he let out another soft whimper, tears welling in his eyes from the pain that shot through his spine. This was probably the worst idea that he had done yet, but the thousand dollars in his pocket suggested otherwise. He turned on the engine, groaning when he saw the time. He was going to be late getting home.
He backed out of the abandoned house's driveway, trying not to think about the men's invitation for next week. He knew he would find a job, and then he would never have to consider letting people doing such things to his body again.
He wished that he truly believed that.

Getting home, he saw the shadows of Sam and Gabriel on the curtains in the kitchen window. He felt a lurch in his heart, hoping that nothing would go wrong. He even had stopped off at a nearby gas station and cleaned up as much as he could in the bathroom so at least he looked presentable.
He slowly switched off the engine and made his way to the front door, trying to look stoic despite the pain that continued to ricochet through his body. Luckily, he had been using a mask of indifference all his life, so it slipped on easily as he walked into his home.
He was greeted by the smells of dinner and his stomach churned, both from nervousness and hunger. Silently, he made his way into the kitchen, where he saw the kids finishing off their last bit of food, Sam and Gabriel standing beside the counter, obviously waiting.
"Where have you been?" Sam asked calmly as soon as Lucifer walked in, tipping his head. Lucifer bit his lip, knowing that the man was too caring for his own good.
"Sorry Sam. The customer was being a bit difficult today." Lucifer said, offering him a reassuring smile. Sam seemed to visibly relax, which made Lucifer's heart throb in pain, almost as much as his back ."But, I finally got paid today, and it was quite a bit too."
He pulled out the thousand dollars and handed it to Sam, a grin splitting his face. Sam smiled back, pulling Lucifer into a hug. It took the blond Novak all he could not to flinch in pain. "Thank you! I was getting worried. Come on. Let's get you something to eat. You must be starving." Sam offered, wrinkling his nose after a minute. "After you shower of course."
Lucifer blushed, swallowing the lump that was forming in his throat. "Yeah. Could you get me a plate while I'm showering?" He asked, sagging in relief when Sam nodded. He pecked the Winchester on the lips gratefully before making his way to the bathroom, his mask crumbling as soon as the door closed.
He let out a silent scream of frustration, hot tears pouring down his face. He hated that he had done this, that he couldn't man up and admit to Sam that he got fired. He was so worried, and he didn't know how to handle it, and it was breaking him.
Slowly, he peeled off his clothes, hissing in pain everytime his back strained and stretched. With the clothes finally off, he didn't need to look to know that he was raw, and whimpered, knowing he wouldn't be able to have sex with Sam until he was healed and looked normal, which frustrated him even more.
He managed to get in the shower without the shooting pain reaching his spine and turned on the hot water, letting out an appreciative groan as the water slowly warmed, soothing some of the aching muscles.
With great care, he got washed up and clean, stepping out and wrapping a towel around his waist. He slipped out of the bathroom and into the bedroom farther down the hall, sliding in and shutting and locking the door. He got his clothes on, but eventually had to lay down just a minute, the throbbing now a burning as his back arched trying to let the pain ease down. A sob escaped his lips before he stopped it as Sam opened the door, having been walking to get Lucifer just then.
"Lucifer?" Sam said worriedly as soon as he heard the sob, hurrying over and climbing on the bed, looking down at the man with such concern, it made tears sting the back of his eyes all over again. "What's wrong?"
Lucifer didn't say anything at first, but wrapped his arms around Sam, pulling the man down to lay beside him. He buried his head in Sam's chest, squeezing him tight. "It was just a bad day." Lucifer whispered, feeling those warm and strong arms circle around him in a silent comfort.

Sooooo, this is a little bit rough around the edges, but oh well. Anywho, I was wanting to tell you about the new stories I will be starting very soon!
The first is a destiel au and mostly takes place in the hospital. Remember, all my stories end happy so if you're interested, check it out.
I'm also considering starting a Sadreel(Sam and Gadreel) and I hope you will look at it and support it as I don't think that is a very popular pairing. Oh, well, I ship Sam with everybody. He's the Draco Malfoy of the fandom.
I'm also going to start another SABRIEL. That's right, you heard it here. It's going to be a highschool au where Gabriel is the well known trickster and Sam is the poor nerd that gets pulled into his antics. It also has a couple of strange plot twists that you might not see coming. XD ;)
And finally, I'm going to be starting a fluffy one-shot compilation! It's basically an apology to those that are reading my stories, especially as they get angsty. So, if you want a break from all the heartbreak(<-XD) then yeah, those are going to be for you.
Nos Vemos!
