Y/N
The light was extremely bright as I slowly opened my eyes. My head was throbbing, my leg and arm were also in pain but it was a dull pain, thankfully. I felt something ward holding my hand and I shot up, wincing in pain from my leg. "Y/N? A shaky voice asks.
I would recognize that voice anywhere, "Hey," I smile, looking at Hiei.
"Y/N...I'm so glad you're ok, I was so worried. Y/N, I'm so sorry, this is all my fault."
"What happened exactly? I don't remember much." I say, sitting up slowly.
Hiei looked at me with worry written all over his face, "you should lay down."
"I'm fine," I lie, looking over at him, "can you fill me in?"
Hiei sighs, "I don't know much but after I left for the demon world, I got ambushed. They were a bunch of low-level demons so normally I could have beat them easily but they knew about you. Once you were brought into the equation, I lost all focus and they captured me. I don't know exactly what they did but they put restrictions on me so I couldn't get out of the cell. While I was trapped, I saw you a couple times, you looked awful. Y/N, they did unspeakable things to you, I really hope you don't remember any of it. I was outraged when I heard what they did to you. They were also about to experiment on you to see how you had demon powers even though you're human, but Kurama, Yusuke, and I managed to stop them in time."
I squeeze Hiei's hand tightly, "thank you, for saving me."
Hiei looked at me and moved from the chair to the bed, laying down beside me, "Y/N, you mean everything to me, I'll always save you but nothing like this is ever going to happen again."
"Please, don't leave me again, it was miserable without you."
"I won't, I promise." he says, bringing his hands to my hair.
I smiled softly and laid my head down on his chest and closed my eyes. "I'm tired, I'm going to sleep," I mutter, letting myself fall asleep.
The next time I woke up, the others were in the room as well. I smiled when I looked beside me to see Hiei asleep, "he's so cute when he's asleep," I chuckle, sitting up. "Thanks for helping rescue me, although sorry I'm always getting into trouble."
"No, it was my fault. I heard noises but I just thought it was a really bad storm," Kurama admits.
"There's really no point in blaming anyone, I'm just glad that it's over with. I didn't have the heart to tell Hiei but I remember everything." I look off at the wall, "I don't like remembering it though, it's horrible." The few who didn't know what I was talking about didn't ask what I was talking about which I was honestly grateful for. It's not something I want to relive.
The rest of the day, the others came and went. Hiei slept the entire day and I wonder how long he had gone without sleep to be so tired. I didn't go back to sleep, I just kinda laid there with him and played with his hair, knowing that if he was awake, he'd be complaining right now. I chuckled at that thought and brought him as close to me as I could without using my left arm since it was still broken. Doctors and nurses came in every now and then to check on me and bring me lunch and dinner.
Hiei had awoken by the time dinner rolled around so the nurse brought him food too which was nice of her. He didn't say much as he sat with me, looking around the room. While we were eating, my head began to hurt with a dull throb. Hours passed and my head began to hurt so bad, I curled into Hiei and cried silently. My head hadn't hurt this bad since that day at school when Hiei took me home. Remembering that memory made me smile a little but not enough to ignore the pain. While I was crying and squeezing his arm, he turned to me, "Y/N, what's wrong? Do I need to get the doctor?"
"My head just hurts so bad," I whimper, "don't leave."
Hiei sighed and pulled me onto his lap, playing with my hair, "I'm not going to leave you again, I promise." I just sat in his lap and cried into his shirt. He didn't make any negative comments about it which made me happy but I could tell he was worried. "Y/N, I'm not going to leave but at least let me go grab a doctor, they can give you some pain medication for your head."
"Fine," I mutter, scooting off his lap, "just please hurry."
"I will, I promise," Hiei says, as he gets up and heads into the hallway to find a nurse or doctor.
