Y/N

After Hiei managed to calm me down, we made our way back to his house, but he was nice enough to carry me! Honestly, It surprised me that he was willing to even offer but I guess it makes a little bit of sense since he did admit to liking me. I ended up snuggling into his arms as he ran and fell asleep, due to the relaxation I felt from the speed we were going at, plus I'm exhausted from the storm that I created that almost destroyed the town. Falling asleep in the comfort of his arms, a dream started to form.

Hiei was standing in the middle of the doorway with a smirk plastered across his face. "Hey Y/N, did you have a good nap?"

"Yeah...I did, come here though, you said we could cuddle," I pout.

"I never say no such thing, insolent human. Why the hell would I want to cuddle with someone like you? Someone who tried to destroy the town? I might be a demon but at least I don't prey on the weak which is exactly what you would have been doing if you had gone through with your plan! So, no I'm not going to cuddle you and you're also not leaving. You're going to stay here where I can keep an eye on you so you don't mess anything else up! Oh, and by the way, I was lying when I said I liked you, I could never like someone that preyed on the weak," he seethes.

"Wait...Hiei, I'm sorry!" I exclaim, moving to get out of bed, only to find I was trapped? "What the hell?" I mumble, looking up at Hiei, "a little help?"

"Why would I help you?" He scoffs, "I'm the one that put you there. I trapped you so that you can't leave unless I allow it, so get comfy," he smirks, walking out of the room.

"Hiei..." I mutter, as I lay back down, tears falling down my face, "I'm sorry..."

I woke up as the tears started in the dream, they had also started in real life. I laid there and cried softly, making sure not to make any noise, I wouldn't want to disturb anyone, especially since all I've done is make everything harder on them. "I'm so sorry Hiei..." I mumble quietly as I lay there, when Hiei unexpectedly shows up in the room, sitting on the bed beside me.

"Y/N? Why are you sorry?" He asks, frowning. "Wait, are you crying? What's wrong?"

"I hate your hearing," I mutter, turning to face the opposite direction from him.

"Y/N, why are you crying? You're going through a lot right now, you know you can talk to me, right?"

"It was just a stupid dream, I'm fine, don't worry about it. I've lived with these dreams or well actually nightmares my entire life and didn't have anyone to help me through them before, now is no different."

"Now it is different though! I'm here for you now, I want to help you through your tough times Y/N, so please talk to me...I'm not good at this type of thing, I don't even know if I'm doing this right..."

"Hold me," I whisper, laying my head in his lap, "reassure me that you actually like me and that you aren't mad at me, that's all I'm asking from you," I whisper.

"Of course I like you Y/N! You are kind, considerate, and adventurous! I think the adventurous part is my favorite part about you even if it does get you in trouble," he chuckles.

"Hiei...thank you...for being here for me, even though all I do is mess everything up."

"Y/N, please stop thinking that way. Just because you made one mistake, doesn't mean you mess everything up." I was about to argue when my stomach decided to interrupt. "Are you hungry?"

"Yeah, I am...sorry"

"You have no reason to be sorry. There is literally nothing wrong with being hungry. Come on, there's still some food leftover from when Kurama decided to cook, I can fix you a plate."

"That sounds nice, thanks!" I say, standing up, grabbing Hiei's hand and pulling him to the door.

"Y/N..." Hiei mutters, "I-I'm not ready to show this side of me to others. I hope you understand but if you're mad at me, I'll understand."

"Oh, right of course, sorry." I nod, taking my hand away from his, "I'm not mad." I smile, opening the door, turning to face him, "come on, let's go eat."

He blinked and nodded, following me out, putting his neutral face back on because according to him, showing emotions is weakness in front of others. Both of us walked into the kitchen and made us each a plate before sitting down at the table. The both of us started to eat and the whole time, my mind was on Hiei. The way he held me so close to him when he was carrying me back home. It felt nice, his body was so warm but could that have been because of his fire powers? Now that I think about it, has he even talked to the girl he saved? I know he knows her because that's the girl from his paintings. I still wonder what she is to him, he reassured me that she isn't a lover of any sort and he also told me that he does like me in that way, but I can also tell he cares about her, I just wonder who she is and why.

"Hiei, who's the girl that y'all went to save? She obviously means something to you. Have you even said one word to her since y'all saved her?" I ask, quietly.

Hiei shook his head and stared at his place, "don't worry about who she is, and I plan on talking to her later today. I wanted to make sure you were ok first though. I was too worried to talk to anyone else."

I look down, "I'm sorry for making you worry. Why don't you talk to her though?" I suggest, feeling slightly guilty for being the one that caused him not to talk to that girl yet. I have to admit though, she's really pretty. She had sea-green hair with red eyes. She's super quiet and very polite and seems to keep to herself a lot but she was talking to Kuwabara a lot. He seems to really like her. He might flirt with a lot of girls but this time it actually seems genuine. Good for him, I just hope she ends up feeling the same way towards him, but the way Hiei glares at Kuwabara everytime he sees them together, I'm guessing it's going to be a little more difficult then Kuwabara is hoping. I still can't help but wonder who she is to Hiei though.

Sighing, I turn back to my plate which was empty? I don't remember finishing my food? Blinking, I just shrug, figuring I had zoned out while thinking about the girl, whose name I've yet to learn. I got up and put my plate in the sink before walking over to the girl and sat down, "hey, I'm Y/N. What's your name?"

"It's Yukina," she smiles back.

"That's a really pretty name. So, um do you have anywhere to go?" I ask, awkwardly.

"I was thinking about going back to the demon world to continue my search for my brother."

"Oh? Do you know his name or what he looks like?"

"No," she sighs, sadly. "All I know is that he has one of our mother's tears. It matches this one," she says, grabbing her necklace to show it to me.

"Oh wow," I mumble. "That's not a lot to go on."

"Yeah, I know," she sighs, looking down.

"Hey, don't worry. I'm sure you'll find him and I'll even help if you want!"

"You will?" She asks, her eyes lighting up with hope.

"Of course I will!" I exclaim.

"Y/N, can I talk to you about something?" I hear Hiei's voice call out.

"I'll be right back," I say, standing up and walking over to Hiei, "what's up?"

He grabs my hand and drags me into the locked room, making sure no one follows us, "what are you doing? Offering to help her find her brother?"

"What's the big deal? If I can help someone, I'm going too!"

Hiei sighs in annoyance, "I'm going to tell you something but you can't tell Yukina or Kuwabara, understand?"

I look at him, crossing my arms. If I accepted then I couldn't tell them no matter what it was, but maybe if it's bad, I could talk Hiei into telling them, "fine, I won't say anything, now what is it?"

Hiei closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, "I'm Yukina's brother, but I'm an abomination to the family because I'm a male, only females are supposed to be born into the family. I don't even know why she wants to find me, but it's best that she doesn't know about me. She doesn't want a murderous fire demon as her brother. The only thing I care about is keeping her safe. I plan on giving her the tear she's looking for and telling her that I randomly came across it. The only people that know about me being her brother are Keiko, Yusuke, Kurama, Botan, and now you."

That was honestly a lot to take in but I know that Hiei needs to tell her. I won't tell her because I don't go back on my word but she deserves to know, I doubt she'd care to know her brother is a murderous fire demon, why should that matter? He doesn't seem to kill anymore that I know of, plus he's been so kind to me, so he can't be that bad, right? "Hiei...I think you should tell her, plus I literally just told her I would help her find her brother, so what am I supposed to do?"

"I can't tell her, when I got the Jagan eye, the demon that gave it to me made me promise I wouldn't tell her," he explains.

"Then use a loophole!" I exclaim, "if you can't tell her, have someone else tell her! Honestly, she doesn't seem like the type to care if you've killed a million people in the past, I mean I don't care, so why would she?"

"You might be right but I'm still worried, let me think about it."

I nod, "good idea." Looking around the room, now I know what he meant when he said she wasn't a lover but he still cared about her. I think it's sweet that he's been looking out for her from the shadows. I must have been lost in thought because Hiei grabbed my hand in his to get my attention.

"The doors are locked and I want to hug you," he says, wrapping his arms around me. I squeaked in surprise and went to hug him back but he immediately removed his arms, "what's wrong? Did you not like it? Is that not ok to do?"

Honestly, I love seeing this side of him, I think it's really cute. "No, I just wasn't expecting the hug to feel so nice. I've hugged Kurama and Keiko plenty of times but hugging you just feels...different but in a good way." I smile, wrapping my arms around his tiny self.

After hugging me back for a minute he pulled back and I watched as he had a smile but turned it into a frown, "do you have to hug Kurama? I want you to be mine and only mine."

"I don't feel that way about Kurama, we're friends and we've been friends since childhood! So yes, I'm going to hug him, but it doesn't mean anything more than friends, I promise." I say, sitting down, Hiei following suit.

"Fine," he grumbles as I lay my head on his shoulder, smiling a soft smile. Holding Hiei's hand tightly in mine, we sat there for a while, not sure how long honestly until we were interrupted by a knock on the door. Hiei groaned and cracked the door so the person couldn't come in. I'm not sure who it was but they were talking about something serious because I felt Hiei's arua darkened.
