Y/N
I slowly open my eyes, the pain gone. I sat up and looked around, curious to see if Hiei stayed, he wasn't too keen on even helping me. I sighed when I saw that he was gone, I don't know why but I was kinda hoping he stayed. I made my way to the kitchen, I was starving, I wasn't really paying attention since my mind was elsewhere, causing me to bump into Shuichi. "Sorry Shuichi...I wasn't paying attention...what are you doing here?"
Shuichi gasps, "I'm hurt, I came to check on you."
I look down, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that, I-I was just surprised that you were here."
"No, I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking, it was a joke."
"So, you aren't mad...?" I ask, softly, guilt eating away at me, even if it was just a joke.
"No! Of course not! Now what are you doing out of bed? Hiei filled me in before he left, shouldn't you be resting?"
"My headaches gone and I'm hungry, plus we have plans soon, don't we?"
"Go sit down, I'll make you something to eat and we can head out in a few."
I nod and sit at the counter, "so what are we going to be doing and who's all coming?"
"Well, it'll be Hiei, Kuwabara, Yuske, Botan, Keiko, you, and me." He says, getting the ingredients needed to make a sandwich, "and you and Keiko will be hearing a story that's true.
"A story?" I ask, tilting my head, "why a story? We aren't five."
"No, yall aren't, but this story is special, you'll see why, we'll be leaving for Yuske's house soon."
I nod, confused, but shrug it off, "Shuichi, is there any way to get rid of the mark?"
"Unfortunately, I don't think there's a way to get rid of the mark but you don't have to use them once you learn how to control them," He explains, softly, causing me to sigh. He handed me a sandwich and I began to eat it slowly since I haven't eaten today. Shuichi put on some random music because eating in silence is boring. His phone goes off a few minutes later, "that was Yuske, he's ready for us to head over."
"Sounds good to me," I say, putting my plate in the sink. "Just let me grab my purse real quick." I grab my purse and make sure I have my phone, house keys, and feneimine products before I walk back into the kitchen, "alright I'm ready." I hope my period doesn't make this mark go haywire.
As we were walking, my mind wandered, thinking of weird stuff trying to figure out this story they wanted to tell me. "Hey Shuichi, did Hiei leave me alone?" I ask, curiously.
Shuichi smirks, "he stayed until I got there, why? Do you miss him?"
"What? No! Of course not! I was just curious," I mumble, feeling my face turning red. As we got closer to the house, I could tell there was something wrong with Shuichi, his mind seemed to be elsewhere, "Shuichi, are you ok?"
"Of course I am, why do you ask?"
"You just seem distant, like you're thinking hard about something."
"I'm fine," he says, stopping at the doorstep of a house with different colored curtains.
Shuichi knocked on the door and Yusuke opened it, "Hey you made it! Come on in!"
"Thanks," Shuichi says, making his way inside the house. I hesitated for a minute but followed suit. Yusuke led us to his room where Hiei, Botan, Kuwabra, and Keiko were waiting. I sat down beside Shuichi. The seating arrangement consisted of Yusuke, Keiko, Kuwabra, Botan, Hiei, me, and Shuichi, sitting in a circle.
"Y/N, Keiko, there's something we haven't been very truthful about," Botan says, looking at everyone.
"This is stupid," Hiei grumbels under his breath.
"Ok, Kuarma first," She says, giving the floor to who I think is Shuichi? I'm already confused and we just started.
"I'm not human, I'm a fox demon, my real name is Kurama, Shuichi is just a cover up name. I'm actually from a different world, called demon world, and I'm actually around 1,000 years old. I was weakened so I took refuge in the living world disguised as a human boy, my mother found me and took me in raising me from a baby." He says.
I blinked and wanted to say something but Yusuke stopped me, "I suggest you let all of us speak before you say something. I'll go next, I'm a spirit detective, I saved this little girl but ended up dying in the process. It wasn't time for me to die so I was given a second chance. I now use my powers to stop the bad demons from hurting people in the living world." He says, glancing at Botan.
"I'm a grim reaper, I guide others to the spirit world to await judgement. I also give these stubborn idiots tasks from the ruler of the spirit world. We all know they wouldn't survive without me," Botan says, nodding towards Kuwabra.
"I was participating in a tournament to prove I'm the best and discovered I have very high spirit energy! I now help with missions! My story isn't great like the others, but it's just beginning!" He exclaims, boosting his ego.
Hiei spoke up next, "I'm here because I'm looking for my sister who's somewhere in this world. I agreed to help these dimwits until I leave. I have a third eye that I had implanted into me to help me find her, which also gives me unique abilities," He exclaims, leaning against the bed, not showing any emotion.
I blinked, it was a lot to take in all at once. I looked over at Keiko and saw a look of realization on her face, "so that's why you're always disappearing, huh?" She asks, looking at Yusuke who nodded.
"How come you never told me?" I ask, looking at Shuichi, Kurama sounds weird to me.
"You're really close to me so I thought I'd be protecting you but after what happened I see that I should have told you sooner and for that I'm sorry."
"It's ok, I understand." I'm sure he was just doing what he thought would protect me, "it is a lot to take in though."
Botan nods, "I'm sure it is, now why don't we all have a sleepover!?" Botan suggests.
"I didn't bring a spare change of clothes," Keiko and I say in unison which was kinda weird.
"We got you covered," Botan says, nodding towards Shuichi who pulled out pajamas and new clothes for tomorrow, and Yusuke pulled out the same thing for Keiko.
Keiko eyes meet mine then back to the others, "should we be worried you planned all this without us knowing, and even got us two changes of clothes without us noticing?"
"Nah, being secretive is kinda our thing," Yuske chuckles.
Hiei scoffs, "a sleepover sounds stupid, count me out."
Shuichi sighs and stands up, "Hiei, a word." He rolls his eyes, following Shuichi out. While they were gone, Yusuke pulled Keiko closer to him which made her smile. Kuwabara eyes Botan who just shook her head.
It was another minute of silence being Shuichi comes back in, Hiei following close behind, face red, as he walks back to his seat, hands in his pockets, "fine, but just this once."
"How did you get him to change his mind?" I ask Shuichi in a whisper.
"I just reminded him that a certain person will be here tonight and he instantly changed his mind."
"Well, who is this person?"
"Not telling," he grins, looking at the others.
"Alright, let's get this sleepover started!" Keiko exclaims, causing the others to cheer.
