Hiei
I still can't believe they sent me to save that human girl. I will admit they had decent points on why I should be the one to save her, but it was still irritating. Kurama said she's smart but doesn't realize it, but my question is how do you not realize you're smart? It sounds to me that she's just really dumb. He sent me because he doesn't want her to know he's a demon since he's friends with her. I don't even know why he's wasting his time with friends, how can he even stand humans? I sighed and made my way around the castle looking for the human girl. This maze castle is really annoying me, I almost decided to betray them and save myself, but I needed their help to find and save my sister, although I would never admit that to anyone.
I groaned as I made my way through the castle, looking for the human girl, hoping I got to fight someone as well, I really needed to blow off some steam. My mind wandered to the girl again, there was something weird about her, something I couldn't figure out, which irked me to no end. I really didn't care about the girl, yet my mind has been thinking about her? I even almost got caught off guard in this castle, key word being almost.
After a good ten minutes of looking, I finally sensed the demon's presence. I started to run and got there a few more minutes later, causing me to come across a room with a snarky looking demon and a talking bird that's freaking out. I scanned the room until my eyes set on the girl trapped in an electric cage, her arms bound to the ceiling and her legs bound to the floor, and looked on the verge of passing out.
It pissed me off that the demon was hurting someone that was defenseless. I might also be a demon but at least I had honor which most demons don't have. Since Urameshi wanted to fight the demon, I used my speed to grab the girl but got thrown back. Honestly I didn't expect the electricity to hurt as much as it did. Expecting the pain this time, I stand back up and go to grab the girl again pushing past the pain. Grunting, I managed to slash the electric chains with my sword and catch the girl. I still don't know why I'm even helping the girl, she's definitely not worth my time.
Huffing, I grab the girl and rush out, carrying her bridal style. Passing Urameshi, I stop for a brief moment, "now it's your turn, go save your girl." He looked confused but then got a call from that grim reaper, I knew she would explain what I was talking about. While in the room the demon was holding the girl in, I saw a video of Keiko running with Maki insects chasing her. I continued to run until we got to a safe enough place. I gently set her down and go help Kuama and dimwit fight the infected humans.
After a while of fighting the infected humans, we finally made it back to the top to see Urameshi putting all of his life energy into an attack to take the demon out. He looked at the screen and whispered, "I'm sorry Keiko." Anyone with normal hearing wouldn't have been able to hear him.
Kuwabara, being the only human here, ended up transferring some of his life force into Urameshi. I turned around and went to retrieve the human girl, since I'm the only one who knows where she is. Picking her up bridal style, I joined the others in heading back home...well back to the living world, it's not my home, demon world is, I hope I get to go back soon.
Once we got back to the living world, I dumped the human girl onto Kurama not wanting to carry her any longer, "be careful, it seems as though she went through a lot with that demon." I call out, causing Kurama to nod and start walking. I'm not exactly sure why but I followed them from a distance, jumping from branch to branch trying to stay hidden but since it was Kurama I was following, it would be hard to stay hidden.
"I know you're there, Hiei," Kurama says, chuckling. I grunt and drop out of the tree, landing on my feet, with my hands in my pockets. "Are you that interested in her? I didn't think you took any interest in humans other than Yusuke and Kuwabara."
"Shut up," I grumble, not really having an answer causing Kurama to chuckle again and shake his head. Once we get to what I'm assuming is her house, Kurama pulls a key out of his pocket and unlocks the door, "you have a spare key to her house?"
"She gave me a spare key incase of an emergency since she lives alone," he explains.
"She lives alone? Do you know why?" I ask, curiously.
"Why do you care about her so much?" He asks, chuckling.
"I don't," I grumble, following him into the house.
"Whatever you say Hiei," he says, gently laying her down on the bed, going to get a cold rag to tend to the wounds the electric bounds gave her. I watched her until Kurama got back per his request. She looked so peaceful, if you didn't pay attention to her wounds, you would think she's just sleeping. Once he finally got back, which felt like it took him longer than necessary, I opened the window and jumped out, heading to my house to sleep. I'm tired of thinking.
Once I got home, I decided to shower before going to sleep. I hopped into the shower and started to wash my hair. I thought back back to the demon, he was a despicable creature, I hated those who picked on the helpless.
After I got out of the shower, I went to lay down when my stomach rumbled. Realizing I was hungry but also being as tired as I am, I ate a small snack for the night and thought of what I should do once I get to leave this wretched place. I had stuff to do down in the demon world.
I sighed in content once I finally got to lay down with no interruptions, I had missed my bed, it was warm and comfortable. I let my mind wander for a few moments and started to think of the girl. I hope she's ok, wait what was I thinking? I don't care if she's ok or not! Do I? I yelled loudly, frustrated with myself before finally falling asleep.
