Drifting
Snowfox's life was always in danger. But then again, always safe. She was the only heir to the IceWing throne. The Queen was always suspicious of her. But she totally had the right to be cautious around her. As the heir, one day (not too long from now) she would challenge the Queen to the throne and they would battle to the death.
Purple light poured through the window, reminding her of her mother who had been lost in the constant war with SkyWings. Her mother had been a shimmering purple-white princess. Just like I am now. She thought. She had been lost in battle. She suspected something else.
She watched the dragons of early morning soaring on the crisp, perfect morning air. A servant carrying seal fur blankets dropped the blankets, slipped on one, tripped through the door, and toppled onto Snowfox!! "AARRRRRRRRHHHHHH" He screamed.
"Watch it beluga-brain," she snarled. Then as he jumped up off her right wing now aching, she realized it wasn't a servant; it was worse. It was the arrogant blowfish-of-a-dragon Prince Arctic. She felt bad for Snowflake. She was engaged to him against her will. She obviously was miserable and was trying to keep her temper but was going to lose it any day now.
The prince snapped into IceWing soldier position. She hated him so much she had to hold back the urge to explode a blast of frostbreath into his annoyed face.
"S-sorry Snowfox'' Arctic stammered. She huffed a heap of snowflakes piling from outside into his face.
"You are so asking to get bitten" She threatened. He gave her a terrified look, picked up his blankets and scurried away. That was very strange. She knew that he preferred only one banket. What could they be for? Then it hit her. It was for that NightWing girl he liked.
He used his animus magic for her. He KNOWS that is punishable behavior.
Arctic was more frightened of her than usual. She knew something was happening that she DIDN'T know about. No one keeps secrets from her.
