RECAP: The Final Step
If you don't carry out the plan...everyone you love will die.
The morning was silent, peaceful as I stood there still and quiet. Three days, it's been three days since I showed Elsa what's happening between Jack...and Tooth. I had went down to check on her periodically but every time I did I was shooed off in a hurry. I've been giving her food, but every time I went down to retrieve the tray, the plate was still full. I have been begging her to eat, but she gave me no answer as she continued to watch Welshin. Watching as she slowly crumples from the pain and agony. Elsa...what are you doing to yourself? You haven't eaten in days, I doubt you sleep at all, Elsa...poor Elsa...what have I done to you?
❄
Walking down the stairs to the cellar, a tray in my hands as a plate full of food laid upon it. The walls were black from the little light that surrounded me. It was cold and silent as I walked down the spiral stair case. The wooden door came into sight as I got closer to it, as I got closer to the room. Stopping in front of the dark wooden door, hesitating as I reached for the copper handle, pushing the little nob that unlocked the door down. I sighed, pushing on the door as it creaked open.
The cold icy air hit me as if death himself had walked right through me. The room silent as life had vanished from it's existences. I dim blue light illuminated from the corner of the room, walking to it I knew I would the person I was looking for. The person who had mourned for her lover, for her lost. I had expected her to be there...but I hadn't expected her condition to be so bad. Dropping the tray as it made a violent clang against the floor, my hands shaking as my eyes widen. There she was...faced down on the floor, still and silent, her hands cringed as if they hooked onto the floor, clawing to it. Her braid beginning to unravel from pain and madness.
"Welshin!" I demanded as I rushed to Elsa in great worry.
"Stop and leave," I said calmly as I kneeled in front of Elsa, turning her over as I held her head and shoulders in my arms. Welshin had obeyed, leaving me as it know I was filled with concern and that I was not mad at it. I wasn't mad at Welshin, it was only doing what Elsa had asked, what...I had asked. She was weak and feeble as she laid still in my arms, her face pale as her eyes remained close.
"Elsa," I cooed softly. Hoping for a response.
"Elsa," I cooed again. No response and I begin to panic.
"Elsa wake up! Say something! Anything!" I shouted desperately.
I stared down at her waiting anxiously and finally...her eyes had open. Dull, gray, pale eyes greeted me with a broken gaze, eyes that showed the pure emotion of pain. Her eyes looked shattered as if they were made of glass, eyes that were as lifeless as their owner. Her eyes were screaming why while her heart was breaking in a trembling scream. She stared at me, emotionless, lifeless, laying like a cold corpse ready to be buried. She was not dying, but she felt like she was and I bet...she wishes to be dead.
"Elsa?" I questioned softly.
At first she said nothing, but then her pale lips moved to mutter something even I wasn't expected.
"He's gone," she muttered through her trembling lips, her hoarse voice barely able to go above a whisper from all the cries she screamed.
"He's gone," she repeated once more, still trying to grasp the meaning behind those word. I said nothing as I held her gingerly in my arms.
"I......I don't understand..." She spoke desperately, lifting her left arm in the air as she tried to reach for something. Her eyes following her hand as tears streamed down her cheeks, her hand stopping in mid-air as if she was caressing someone's cheek or holding someone's face.
"...he......he was there. He...he was just in my arms......he.........he loved me...He's......he's gone! He's gone!" She croaked. She trembled, her hands falling to her face as she covered the world from her eyes. Her trembling lips uttering words of pure emotion as she concealed her crying face to world, as she wanted to conceal her heart once more.
"He's gone! He's gone! Why...oh why! My loving Jack...my beautiful Jack, he's gone! Take my heart, take my soul, kill me here and now! Kill me to stop this aching pain in my chest, take my heart so I can not feel, take my mind and soul so I could not wish! I'm dying, my heart is breaking as it shatters into a million pieces! He's gone! My Jack is gone as he runs into the arms of another! I can't take it! Kill me, kill me now! My life is an abomination! Was I never meant to happy!? Why place this curse on me if all it brings is sadness and pain, Kill me! Please!" She screamed desperately, rashly, frantically as she began to thrash in my arms.
"Shhh, shh calm down Elsa, it's alright, it's alright." I said as I held her tightly in my arms.
"But it's not alright!" She screamed against my chest, her arms slowly finding my body as she searched for my comfort.
"My Jack......he's gone......he......doesn't love me......anymore." Her voice began to shake as she could no longer keep it steady. She cried, screamed, trembled in my arms as her hands clutch my shirt tightly, trying to grasp on to any sanity that she had left. She cried like a little child, but...she also cried like a heart broken lover as her cries filled my ears. Her cries and moans made my heart heavy as a knot formed in my stomach, my chest tight as my shoulders became stiff. Her screams where like my screams, desperate and frustrated, I...I can't leave her like this, I can't leave her knowing a lie instead of the truth. My guilty conscious was coming into play as the white Angel appeared on my right shoulder. Whispering words of wisdom into my ear as it was convincing to do the right thing and...it was winning.
"Elsa," I said and she stopped her crying. Moving her head to look at me with her shallow broken eyes.
"Elsa I..." I paused pondering if this was a good idea, but my Angel was still urging me on.
"Elsa there's something I need to tel-"
Carry out the plan......or everyone you love will die.
I stopped, remembering Tooth's warning as it echoed in my head.
Everyone you love will die.
Everyone I love will die. I sat there silent as the pros and cons of my situation bounced around in my head. If I don't finish the plan, everyone I love will die. If I finish the plan Elsa and Jack will both be living a lie. What to do, which do I choose-
"Pitch?" Elsa cooed as she broke me from my train of thought.
"You were...going to tell me something?" She questioned.
I hesitated before I spoke. "Elsa......I know this is hard for you and I know this is going to break your heart over and over again. But it's not like you can just forget him."
It was at this comment that her eyes had widen as a realization had came upon her.
"What?" I asked confusion.
"Take my memories away," She spoke, her hands gripping the bottom of my shirt desperately.
"What?!" I said shocked, my own eyes widening.
"You said I can't just forget him, but I can if you take my memories away. I know you can do it, please...take my memories away! Take them all away!"
"Elsa-"
"Please, take them away! Please, I know you can do it, take them away! Please Pitch, please!"
"Elsa!" I demanded as I grabbed her by the shoulders. My yellow blazing eyes staring into her dull gray ones. She stayed silent as she now looked at me with shock.
"Elsa do you know what you ask for? Do you know what you are losing when I take your memories away?! Do you know if this what you really want!?"
She said nothing as she looked away from me, her eyes averting to the ground as she sat in front of me. Her hands loosening their grip on my shirt as she kept her head bowed in front of me, tears falling from her eyes as her loose platinum bangs hid them.
"Please..." she paused.
"Don't leave me with this pain, don't leave me with my breaking heart. Don't leave me with the memories of being loved and then not being loved at all. Don't let me voice fade into nothing as I scream it away with the screams of lost and agony. Don't let my eyes burn from my cries, turning my eyes colorless and lifeless. Don't make my teeth bite my lips just to keep them from trembling. Don't leave me with the memories of love when all I feel now is emptiness. Don't leave me here with my memories..."
She paused, slowly picking her head up, allowing me to see her face. Tears streamed down her face once more as the loose strands of hair fell against her face desperately. Tired, empty, frustrated, pain, agony, lost, death, all painted on her face. The days in this cell had aged her, the days watching her lover with another drained her, the days without sleep or food had made her weak as she loses weight. She's more than just desperate, she's begging and she's willing, she's screaming for help and......am I going to listen. I'm I going to grant her this wish.
"Please...I'm begging you...take my memories away."
❄ Manny's P.O.V ❄
Rushing through the doors to the council room, the big white doors slammed open as I walked in furiously. The council members flinched as they heard the doors slammed, looking up from their council papers as the sat in their council seats. Looking at me puzzled as I walked towards them, my face showing distress and confusion. Solaria, my fiancee, stood up with worry and concern as her hands remained on the table in front of her.
"Manny, dear, what is the matter?" She questioned as she looked upon me with worry.
"Something's wrong," I answered as I looked upon her as she stood on the council pedestal that was prompt higher than the floor. The other council's members looked at me with shock and confusion as they remained in their chairs.
"What could you mean?" Father Time question, his moustache twitching as he spoke.
"It's Elsa......I......I can't find her anywhere," I spoke frantically. All the council members eyes widen as their jaws became tight and their chest heavy with fright.
"What......what do you mean?" Solaria spoke in a hush whisper.
"I...I can't find her, I've looked everywhere. I checked every place she could be but...I can't feel her presence anymore."
"What? How can that be possible?! Did you check every where?!" Mother Nature questioned me.
"Yes, I'm sure of it," I said desperately.
"But you couldn't possible-"
"He's right." Saraphine spoke, cutting of Mother Nature as everyone snapped their eyes to her. Her eyes were closed as a white illuminated around her, she was soul searching.
"He's right, I can't find her. I can't feel her aura anywhere," She spoke opening her eyes. The light dimming from her body as it faded away.
"I can't find her soul," she spoke solemnly. Everyone was silent as they looked down at their desk, trying to process this new information into their minds the best they could. Unknowing that I had more bad news to give.
"There's one more thing..." I paused as all the council members looked up at me. The faces showing pure fear as they waited for the bad news to reach their ears. Getting ready for the impact of what I was going to say next.
"...The Guardians...they aren't answering."
"What?" Neptune said stunned as everyone became stiff.
"I can't get a hold of them...they aren't answering."
"But...but they always answered," Mother Nature said.
"I know......and that's why I'm worried."
"Manny," Saraphine spoke desperately, I looked at her. Our eyes connecting as we both feared the worst.
"You don't think that..." She spoke frightened as she looked at me with her concerning eyes.
I sighed, "Yes I do." I paused as I look to the floor, my shoulders becoming tense as my jaw was tightened. My eyes closing with frustration as I could feel them become ablaze with rage. I breathed in heavily as I lifted my head, snapping my eyes open as I looked at the council with rage, determination, and...fear. Standing up straight as I looked upon them, my hands turning into fist as I spoke in a harsh tone...
"The war has begun."
❄ Elsa's P.O.V ❄
"Please...I'm begging you...take my memories away." I begged Pitch desperately as my body trembled. The cold floor against my knees as my hands clutched Pitch's shirt desperately, grasping for any help I had left.
"Take them! Please!" I pleaded.
I needed him to take my memories, I needed him to take these awful feelings away from me. Please, don't leave me feeling this pain, don't leave me here wanting to die as these memories of love and rejection play in my mind like a broken record. Don't let the sound of my breaking heart ring in my ears as I claw for sanctuary. My heart, my mind, I'm conflicted, my mind is screaming forget while my heart is shouting remember and love. I'M CONFLICTED as my mind and heart split me in two. Take my memories or leave me here to die cause I'm already dead if I have to live with these memories. The images, the images of Jack and Tooth haunt my memory as their words of their love make me want to go deaf. He loved me...now the memories of his love for me seem nothing more than a dream. A hoax created to toy with me as Tooth ravishes herself in his irresistible sweetness. When did it all go wrong...when did I go wrong?
"Please Pitch, take away my memories, free me from the curse of knowing rejection. I had once knew love, but now all I know is pain. Take away the memories, please, Pitch, take them all away."
He remained silent.
"I beg of you," I whispered. Bowing my heard as he remained silent, as he contemplated on what to do. Then, with an exhale, he sighed and said...
"Very well then."
I looked up at him, my tears ceasing to exist as he stared upon me with his vibrant yellow eyes. His face pale as he looked at me with worry and concern, still unsure if this...was the right thing to do.
"I'll take your memories, I'll take them all away. You will not remember who you were, you won't remember Anna or Arendelle, you won't remember Manny, you won't remember The Guardians, you won't remember Jack. You won't remember the person you use to be, you'll only remember the person I let you remember. I'll take your memories and the only thing you will remember is your name and the powers you were born with. Elsa...are you sure this is what you want?"
"Yes," I spoke desperately.
"Yes take my memories away, please...take them away."
Pitch sighed once more. "Your wish...is my command."
His hands grabbed my face tenderly as his eyes looked at me gingerly.
"Close your eyes," he demanded softly as he moved his lips to my forehead. His lips brushing against my forehead as I did what he told me. He whispered softly...
"Forget..." he kissed my forehead. Moving his lips slowly to my right eye lid.
"Don't remember..." He kissed my right eye lid softly. Moving his lips to my left eye lid slowly.
"...what you wish not to see." He kissed my left eye lid gently. Moving his lips from my eye lid, down to my cheek, and in front of my lips. His nose grazing against mine as his breath brushed softly against my lips.
"Your memories......are now mine." He spoke softly.
Pressing his lips against mine hard as my world...and everything I knew...faded into black.
