Queen Anna
When you were small... you would always reach for my hand. Say my name whenever you needed advice or when you needed protecting. You needed me, but...you're no longer a little girl. You're older now, a woman. You have judgement, but at times you still come to me to make sure what you're doing is that right choice. Anna... I'm not going to be there when you need me, not all the time anyway. You need to listen to what your instincts tell you, you need to listen to your heart. So it is with a heavy heart sister when I tell you... be strong. Be strong for our people and lead them.
I walked out onto the main balcony. Facing my people as they had gathered in the courtyard. My sister and her fiancé stood behind me to my left, while Jack stood behind my right.
"Look it's Queen Elsa!" Someone said down below. Informing the others of my presence as all eyes came to me. Their voices exploded as they cheered, screaming "we love you Queen Elsa" or "where have you been my Queen". Their voices of love and care broke me, knowing...that I might not hear their voices every again. With a great sorrow I put my hands up in the air, making them stop. My hands falling once my people were silent once more.
"People of Arendelle," I shouted. Making sure my voice hit every ear it could find. "I stand before you with an urgent matter." I paused as their faces fell in horror. "I, Queen Elsa, must fight a war that is beyond the power of man. This war... could save this world... or exterminate it completely." There was a gasp as every mother held her child and every man held his wife. "I..." I continued. "I don't know if I will be returning from this war. I don't know if we will win. But me...and my companions must fight. I must protect every soul that lives on this earth and I will! I will fight to my very last breath, I will fight to make sure you all have a home before I die. I will make sure we will win, even if death is necessary."
"But Queen Elsa!" A voice said from the crowd. Looking towards the voice I saw it was a young girl. She looked a little younger than Anna, maybe 15 at most. She had brown hair tied into two pigtails. Wearing a tattered blue dress with a cloth on her head. A baker. All eyes turned to her as she looked at me with eyes needing permission. I nodded and she spoke. "My Queen...does it have to be you? Can't the guards or any of your special forces take care of this dilemma? Or anyone, anyone else? We need you queen Elsa. You can't die! Who will be here to take care off us?"
"Yeah," the crowd of people around her said softly. That one word only sounding like a mutter to her brave booming voice.
"Who will lead us Elsa? Who will fight for us? Protect us when you're gone or worst... who will rule the kingdom if you don't come back? We need you Elsa. Please! Please don't go!"
"Please don't go Elsa! Please don't go!" The people spoke as one and begged with one voice. They all had the same goal. The same need, for me to stay. But I couldn't have it, I needed them to look upon a new leader. I needed them to look upon Anna, she needed their support. I put my hand up and shoot a snowflake design in the air. Making everyone go quiet as snowflakes fell upon the crowd. Melting once they hit the ground and in a demanding voice I spoke...
"This is why I must go. I'm not human, you all know that. I have powers that are unimaginable, a gift and a curse at the same time. It is my destiny and I must take it. I don't want to leave you...but I must. And as for someone leading..." I paused, looking at my sister as I had saw that her nerves have gotten to her. Slowly, gently, I reached my hand out for her. "...fortunately my parents had two daughters." I spoke softly as I looked into her eyes. Her hand gently taking mine as I pulled her slowly to walk beside me. "My sister, Anna Dellen, will be your new Queen. She will lead you while I am gone...and take my place if I do not return. I expect you to treat her as well and and with the same respect you gave me. Believe in her, support her, love her. For I know... she will never let you down. You were always first in her eyes and you will always will be."
It was at that moment I had soared our intertwine hands into the sky. Raising her hand above her head as if she was a champion of a battle. I spoke with every inch of confidence I had in me and said, "FOR QUEEN ANNA!"
"Queen Anna! Queen Anna! Queen Anna!" Our people chanted. Supporting her name with every breath they took. Not stopping until the crown that was once my mothers and was recently mine, was upon her head. The people clapping and cheering was almost background. She then looked at me with this beautiful green eyes and I smiled back.
"It's your's now," I took a step back. "Look at your people."
She nodded in reply and faced the crowd. Letting them cheer for their new Queen.
❄️
It was time to say goodbye. And after all the goodbyes we had... this was going to be the hardest for my sister. It wasn't the hardest because of the long wait to meet again. It was the hardest because there was a chance that I will never come back. A chance... where she'll never see me again. And that broke both of us. We stood in the main hall, the four of us looking at one another. Of course, Anna was always the one to cry first. She was the one who always needed protection, I was the one who needed to protect her. She lurched for me as she wrapped me in her tightest bear hug. Burying her crying eyes into my shoulder before I wrapped my arms around her. One hand at the back of your head while the other on her back. My sister, my sweet sweet Anna.
"Shh, it's alright. It's alright." I cooed in her ear. Trying to comfort her. It was at that moment she pulled away and looked at me.
"If you're gone...it will never be alright!" She spoke through sobs and hiccups. Making me grab her by her shoulders and shake her.
"Hey...hey!" I said grabbing her attention and she stopped. Letting me put my hands on her face as I held it. Wiping away the tears slowly. "No matter what happens, no matter where I am, I will always be with you. You are my family, the only blood relative I have left. I need you to be strong. Stay strong, you promise me that. Promise."
She nodded, "I promise I will stay strong."
I smiled, "good," I embraced in one last goodbye hug. Before I looked at Kristoff and wrapped my arms around him as well.
"You protect her, alright? Make sure she's always safe, you need to be her strong hold when I'm not here. Do you understand?"
It took him a moment before he spoke. Wrapping his arms around me as if he was losing a dear friend. As if he was losing family. "I hear you loud and clear."
I smiled as he let me go. His hands still on my shoulders as he looked at me. His eyes filled with the color of sorrow and lost. His lower lips trembling as he begged, "you come back Elsa. You come back and complete this family once and for all. You must come back."
I promise myself I wouldn't cry... but unfortunately... Kristoff's words broke my heart. Making me close my eyes as three tears escaped. Kristoff... kissed my forehead with a goodbye. I opened my eyes and turned away from the two of them. Wiping my tears so they wouldn't see.
"You take care of her. Make sure she gets home safe." Kristoff's voice was broken as he spoke to Jack. Holding his hand out to him in a hand shake. Jack grabbed his hand but instead of just shaking Kristoff's hand. He was pulled into a manly hug. Kristoff patting his back in the least awkwardness way as possible. "You make sure you come back Mr.Frost. Elsa needs you and would be a total mess without you."
"I will, to both of those things, I will."
"Good, otherwise I'll have to wring your neck."
"Kristoff!" Anna scolded. Making me look at the two of them as I chuckled. Kristoff letting go of Jack instantly as he put his hands up in the air.
"What?? I was just kidding!" We all laughed.
"Please...take care of her." Anna said as she walked up to Jack and gave him a kiss to the cheek. Making me a tad, just a tad, jealous.
"I will your majesty." He bowed at the waist in front of her. Making me smile before he straightened up. We nodded and bid them a farewell, turning as we walked to the giant open doors.
"I don't see why they are so worried about you not coming back. You're a guardian, if you get killed, you'll come back just like that. We're already dead." Jack said bluntly as we kept walking.
Alright explanation time. It's true that Guardians can't die since they are already dead. But that doesn't mean they can't be destroyed. I keep remembering that one time when Pitch destroyed Sandy. He didn't really kill him, just destroyed his physical form. The only way sandy came back was to have enough people believe in him and they did. That's why he was able to come back and regain himself. But... if you get destroyed and if no one believes in you... you won't be able to come back. You'll be forgotten...forever.
It was at that moment I had remembered what Saraphine had told me before I came here. I sighed, I must tell Jack, he needs to know.
"Jack," I spoke softly as I stopped in my tracks. Making him stop just a few inches ahead of me. My face held sorrow and fear in it as he looked upon me with confusion. My heart was dropping through the floor and all the way to earth's core.
"What is it Elsa? Why such the hurt look?"
"Jack...there is something I need to tell you..." my voice was thin and my throat was dry. Making me swallow to moist my throat a bit. I was shaking. Seeing the fear in my eyes, Jack urgently walked towards me. Grabbing my hand as the other placed itself on my cheek.
"Elsa! You're shaking." He spoke softly. His eyes looking at me with worry and concern. "What's wrong? What's making you shake like this?"
"Jack...I..." My voice was caught in my throat. I couldn't say it.
"What's wrong Elsa? Please, speak to me." He begged, his voice broken.
I thought I would never be scared in my life. I had to be strong for my sister, for my kingdom, I couldn't let fear get in the way. Yes, I was scared when my powers went out of control but that was before I knew how to control them. I haven't truly been afraid of anything since then. But I'm truly afraid now...I'm terrified. Little did I know that I would come to this point. I've always been afraid of losing him...but now there's a chance that I will...
"Jack... there's a chance that I might die in this war."
❄️ Saraphine's P.O.V ❄️
"In order to win this war we must extract Yami's darkness out of Tooth. There's no other way." Haya spoke in front of the council. With me and Pitch standing off to the side, we watched accordingly.
"Why don't we just kill the bitch," Neptune said as he cleaned his nails. Leaning back in his chair as everyone looked at him with death glares. Feeling the silence and glares, he looked up. He looked at the council with a confused look. "Did I say something...wrong?"
Manny...was furious. He stood from
His chair and slammed his fist down on the desk in front of him. Making Neptune flinch as the rest of the council looked at him with the same conviction.
"That bitch you were talking about is Tooth! She is a guardian and it's our duty to protect guardians. It's not all her fault that this is happening to her. She's not in control! And I'm sorry princess for interrupting you and your nail cleaning, but we have a big issue on our hands! Or do you wish not to be on this council anymore!"
It was Neptune's turn to talk and it looked like he had something to say. "Why do we have to deal with this? Leave the problem to the silly guardians. This has nothing to deal with the council-"
"THIS HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH THIS COUNCIL!" Manny screamed, slamming his fist on the table for the second time. Making everyone flinch. The air was still and silent. "You...are immature. Get out! You are off this council."
All of our mouths dropped. No one has been taken off the council before. There was no need for it, this has never been heard of. Neptune stood up, trying to speak his case. But we all knew he was at the end of his rope. You mess with Manny, you mess with all of us.
"You can't throw me off this council. You need me more than ever!"
"We never needed the likes of you! Now get out!"
"You need a full and strong council to win! Besides, who on earth would take my place." He said smugly. Crossing his arms for he thought he had won. Seeing this, all eyes turned to Manny as we watched his lips form into a smirk.
"Pitch will."
"What?" Neptune said.
"What?" Pitch said.
"What??" The rest of the council spoke. Making Manny cross his arms while Neptune's fell to his sides. Neptune's mouth wide open.
"You all heard me. Pitch Black will take your place in the council. He has proved to me that he is more of a guardian than you will ever be. He has proved to us... that we were wrong about him. That he is not a monster, that he is good. And he deserves to be on the council more than any of us. He...is the true Guardian. Now...for all the council members who thinks Pitch Black should take Neptune's place...say I."
"I," Mother Nature, said first surprisingly.
"I," spoke Father Time and Solaria.
"I," I said with a smile. Making Pitch look at me with shock and yet...happiness.
"That settles it then," Manny then turned to Pitch and said with all the joy in his voice. "Pitch Black...welcome to the council." Everyone clapped as they looked upon Pitch with smiles as wide as the crescent moon. Everyone was happy, well, everyone...except Neptune.
"This is an outrage! Have you all gone insane! He-" it was at that moment I put my hand up. Making a purple ribbon wrap around his mouth to make him shut up. Everyone looked at me as I flexed my hand, Neptune murmuring in the background. Struggling to get the ribbon off.
"I've been wanting to do that since I ever met him."
They laughed at my response. Manny looking at Solaria as he asked nicely, "love, please get rid of this would ya?" He was featuring to Neptune as the "this".
"Of course my darling," and with one swoop of her hand...he was gone.
"Now," Manny sat down as he looked and Haya once more. "Where were we?"
"Tooth, right. Now here's the game plan, we-"
It was at that moment that the council room doors have swung open with a bang. A mad and very furious Jack walking through them as a worried Elsa trailed behind him. Jack was heading right for Haya as Elsa tried to make him stop. Saying his name over and over again. What had happened when they were away? When she saw when that wasn't working, she called upon Pitch.
"Pitch, make him stop!" She pleaded with him. Jack was only a foot away from Haya when we saw his fist go in the air. Haya began to shield herself, everything began to happen so fast. Fortunately Pitch used his teleportation to stop his brother's fist and hold Jack back.
"Jack! What on earth are you doing?!" Pitch questioned his brother, but Jack only ignored his words. Struggling in Pitch's hold. Jack was trying to hurt Haya...but why? Boy, Jack sure does have a temper. I blame it on hormones.
"Jack! What has gotten into you!" Pitch questioned Jack again, still holding him back.
"Tell me it isn't true!" Jack spoke. But he wasn't talking to Pitch...he was speaking to Haya. "Please! Please tell me what you told her was just an assumption and not the truth. Please!"
It was at that moment Haya had realized what this is all about. She took a step forward, standing right in front of Jack. His eyes were no longer angry... but desperate. "Let him go Pitch." She demanded.
"But he'll hurt you."
"Let him go."
"Haya-"
"Let him go!" She demanded and Pitch let his brother go. Jack falling to his knees as Haya stood before him. Looking down on him with great pain.
"What I say... could be the truth,
it could not be. I can't be sure of it, but I can not ignore it. There is a chance...that Elsa could die and not come back." The air turned thin as all our hearts dropped. Jack...began to sob uncontrollably, Elsa rushed to his side. Kneeling next to him as he buried his face in her shoulder. I saw Manny stood up once more, a horrified look on his face. All of our hearts had sunk to the bottom of the ocean.
"W-what do you mean... she could not come back?" Manny spoke broken. Haya turned to him and she was using all her strength not to break down before his eyes.
"Elsa...is different. The first of her kind. A guardian chosen at birth and not at death. She is still alive, immortal, but alive. I don't know what she's capable of. I don't know if she has all of her powers of a guardian or will she get them after death? Will she come back like the rest of us if her life is taken? I don't know! She's mystery to me. But we can not ignore the fact that she might not come back if she's killed!"
"Then we'll just keep her out of the fight. Plain and simple." Pitch said. Trying to look calm, but we could all see the fear in his eyes. He cares about Elsa, she's a sister to him.
"You know we can't do that. We need all four of you to defeat Yami. You know I can't fight her, it's up to you four to save this world."
"Wait... you won't be fighting with us?!" Pitch asked astonished.
"Rule 1 about the sisters..." I intervened, taking a step forward as my arms were crossed. "...and the horrifying joke that God could ever play. The sisters powers become useless when used on each other. They can't hurt each other or even stop one another if the other gets out of hand." I looked at everyone in the room before I continued. "She's right...it is up to us and only us to save this world. But...can a council member take her place?" I questioned Haya.
She looked down and contemplated for a minute. Using her brain like a calculator as she tried to solve the problem. Seeing if it will work. "Well... we can try it. But it would take a great toll on all of you. Mostly on the council member who takes her place."
"That settles it then, we-"
"You're not taking me out of this fight." Elsa said as she cut me off. Standing up as she took Jack with her. Him standing on his own as his arms wrapped around her waist, his forehead against the side of her head. "This is my world too," she continued, "I have a right to fight for it!"
"But Elsa...you might get hurt or worst killed. We don't know what we will do without you."
"Look...I am terrified of dying. I am scared of losing all of you. But if that's what it takes, that's what it takes. My sister lives on this earth, my people live here. We live here. If I have a chance of dying to make sure that she, my people, and we have a home...then it is a price that I am willing to make." She spoke strong as determination burned in her eyes.
Elsa... look how strong you have become. It's hard to remember that you were insecure once. Timid as you stood in the corner, fidgeting, but... your light was always there. It was dim, but it was there, hidden in your timidness. Look at you now, head held high as you outshine everyone around you. I watched you grow up and I was so happy to have met you. I slowly walked up to her, my heels clicking on the ground. The sound rupturing the silence before I stopped before them. Putting a hand on both of their faces as I looked upon them with motherly eyes. They returned my glance with eyes of confusion, but also admiration. I chuckled softly from their perplexed looks.
"I will make sure that you don't have to take that toil, neither of you."
"We will make sure." Pitch said behind me as he placed his hand on my shoulder. Flashing me a smile. Maybe I can forgive him so easily...maybe.
"No, I can't let you do that. I can't let you get hurt because of me. I can't-"
"It will be our pleasure, Elsa..." Pitch said. "...we want to protect you at all cost and we will do just that."
"Besides, we couldn't let Jack be the only one protect you. Knowing he'll kill his dumb ass trying." I said jokingly. Making Jack's face jump from sadness to anger.
"Hey!" He said on the defense. The three of us laughing as I ruffled my hand through his hair.
"I'm kidding!"
Elsa was smiling now, having that same twinkle in her eyes. That twinkle was when you know... she is truly happy. "Thank you, all of you, thank you so much." She replied, looking each and everyone one of us in the eye. I nodded feeling as if a great weight was lifted off of our shoulders. But...this was no time for celebration. Hell was at our door and we had to train and work hard if we were going to have a chance to save this world. This...will take every inch of ourselves. We're not trying to destroy, we're trying to extract. To save. This has never been done and we need every ounce of training we can get. This is not like defeating Pitch when he was evil. This is much worst. We're trying to lock up a creator, the most powerful among us.
I looked at Haya and said, "Let's get started."
