Celest

The trees rustle as 8 paws kick up the snow. Two wolves racing towards the meadow, one black as night while the other white as snow. They run, challenging each other as they leap gracefully over every fallen log and every bush. The white wolf's fur glistening in the morning sun, almost distracting the black wolf with her beauty. The black wolf ripped his eyes away and picked up speed, the white wolf not leaving his side. They were almost to the end and he tried everything to shake her. But she overcame all his obstacles and trickery, displaying her abilities to him. The black wolf smiled with her progress, feeling nothing but pride in his heart as they soon came to the meadow. Kaname had transformed from the black wolf with great ease. Celest following close behind as her white fear revealed her beautiful porcelain body. It had been months since Queen Lapis have gave Celest the life of a familiar. During that time Kaname has been training Celest. Teaching her how to transform, how to control the transformation, and how to use it to her capabilities. She was learning at an alarming rate, which surprised Kaname. She was ready, they were both ready.
Kaname looked at her as she laughed. He always found her breathtaking. She had a small build but lean and strong. Her body was a perfect hour glass with smooth untouched skin with crystal blue eyes as clear as the clearest waters. Her long white hair was untamed and flowed beautiful with her movements. She was dressed in black clothing that had intricate white patterns that seemed almost Sci-fi like. She was the opposite of him. His origin was black, hence why every animal he turned into either had black fur, scales, feathers, etc. her origin was white as snow, making everything that she turned into white. They were opposites and in a sense...they completed each other. Like yin and yang, in order to have one you must have the other. They were a team, but Celest's abilities was not the only thing that developed in those last few months. Kaname had developed what he believed was never possible for someone like him. A crush. He felt his heart pound out of his chest whenever Celest will get near to him and touched his shoulder or arm. His eyes would just wander to her and stare, quickly looking away when she looked at him. Little did he know was that Celest developed the same feelings towards him. She would stare and shivers ran down her spine whenever he gave her his breath taking smile. They were unaware of each other's feelings and neither of them were ready to confess.

"That was Amazing!" Celest said enthusiastic. Laughing from the adrenaline.

"Yes it was," Kaname replied with a smile. But not as amazing as you.

"I have never ran that fast in my life!"

"Wait til you feel the speed of a cheetah." He said with a little snicker. Seeing Celest's eyes widen with excitement.

"Can we do it now??!?" She was like a child begging for a toy. Giving him her best puppy eyes.

He looked towards the sky, seeing the blue hue turn into purple. The sun was going down and it was never save to be out in the open at night. "Looks like it will have to be tomorrow." He said, giving her his most apologetic smile.

At first Celest was distraught by his answer, but his smile made up for it. "Okay", she said and they started heading to the cave they shared. Their cave wasn't far from the meadow, it was only a hop, a skip, and a tree branch away. They began to climb the stone stairs that fell horizontally to the cave entrance, hiding behind small edges of rock. Celest was in front of Kaname and he found it hard not stare at her butt as they climbed the stairs. He was a guy after all. He would take glances but never full on stared for Kaname was a gentleman. They soon made it to the cave, Celest unaware of Kaname's confliction. Kaname draped the curtain of leaves they made in front of the entrance while Celest started a fire. Turning in for the night as Celest cooked the two rabbits they had caught that day. They both sat on each side of the fire, their butts sitting on layers of fur to soften the ground.

I told you they have been there for months, so you shouldn't be surprised by the animal skins that formed their sitting and their beds. Hunting was one of the many things Kaname showed Celest how to do. She had taken down the deer as a lion while she killed the grizzly bear as a dragon. They learned how to form nature to their advantage and what predator was best for hunting which prey. But they weren't barbarians, they could have made a cabin or go back to Pitch's house. But Celest was more comfortable in the cave, that's where dragons lived. But now that she was more human than dragon, she didn't mind homes or enclosed walls. So they could have made that cabin, but now the cave was home and that's where they remained.

The rabbits didn't take long to cook, it was rabbit kabob night. Celest handed one of the kabobs to Kaname, both of them eating in content silence. They ate until their bellies were full, throwing the now empty sticks into the fire. Kaname stared at Celest while she stared at the fire. The warm glow kissed her face as it brightened her most dominate features. Her lips and cheeks had a pinkish tint as the tip of her nose was brightened and narrowed from the orange glow. But it was her eyes that were the most beautiful. Against the fire her eyes turned into ravenous violet, almost looking like cooled glowing embers. It was extra cold that night, a freezing breeze blowing through the cave and giving Celest a chill to the bone. She pulled her knees up to her chest and rubbed her arms with her hands. Trying to get warm, but the fire and her efforts were not enough. Shivering like a leaf by the fire.

"Are you cold?" Kaname asked, his voice filled with concern.

"J-just a little." Celest replied with a brrr. Making Kaname's chest vibrate with a chuckle as he got up from his furs. "W-what are you doing?" She questioned as he sat down next to her. Wrapping his arm around her shoulders, pulling her close against his side.

"I'm using my body heat to keep you warm. The last thing we need is you catching a cold!" He admitted, keeping his eyes on the fire. Afraid that if he looked at her, he wouldn't be able to resist the urge to press his lips against her's. She looked at him with the outmost surprise. This was the first time he had embraced her, his closeness making the butterflies in her stomach flutter while his touch sent electricity through her body. She began to melt into him and before she knew it, wrapped her arms around him tight. His breath hitched once her arms wrapped around his waist, making his heart fast with affection and excitement. But she read the hitch of his breath wrong and recoiled her arms from him. Believing she had crossed some boundary.

"Sor-"

"Don't let go." Kaname cut her off. Straining his voice to hide the sudden huskiness in it.

"What?"

"I said," he looked at her. "...Don't let go."

Her heart pounded fast and blush rose to her cheeks. In a quick hesitance she wrapped her arms around him. Her ear pressed against his chest, hearing his rapid beating heart. To make it easier for both of them, Kaname grabbed her by the waist and placed her on his lap. Her side against his front as her forehead buried into his neck. Her hands clung to his shirt while he held her in a tight embrace. His warmth soon invaded her body. Her own personal heater that she clung onto so dearly. In her heart she knew she didn't cling onto him because of his warmth, it was because of the love she had for him. A love that he might never know. She wanted to tell him so badly, but why couldn't she form the words to do so? What if he rejects me, would I lose him as a friend? Would it be awkward between us?! She pushed all her thoughts aside and allowed herself to melt into him. She was so comfy, unbelievably comfy that her eyelids began to get heavy. She didn't want to sleep, she wanted to burn this feeling into her mind in case it never happened again. So she fight to keep her eyes awake, but her body was beginning to betray as she let out a yawn. A yawn that Kaname found to be utterly adorable.

"Tired?" His lips perk into a smile that held a chuckle behind it.

"No!" Celest said determined, but they're was sleepiness in her voice. Only making her sound cuter.

He chuckled and whispered softly in her ear. "Go ahead and fall asleep. I'll protect you."

She was about to protest, but his hand began to rub circles on her back which made her voice die out and purr with great comfort. She was melting and his hand was only lulling to sleep as she slipped from reality into a dream.

She's so beautiful, he thought. Looking upon her with loving eyes as he allowed himself to kiss her forehead. Believing that she was too far in her dream to feel his lips against her skin. Unfortunately he was right. Celest was too far gone in her dream to feel the tender kiss from the man she was pining over. Too far in the dream that was about him. The dream that she longed so desperately to be reality. Celest slept soundly in Kaname's arms while his eyes just stared at her. He marveled in the beauty that was Celest and loved how her long beautiful lashes touched the tops of her cheeks. He wanted to hold her forever, but tomorrow they we going to the council and...who knows what men she may meet. He pushed those thoughts aside and focused on her. Favoring this very moment as he memorized her lips, her nose, her eyes, her hair, and her slow steady breath. Burning the very beautiful image into his mind. He stared at her for hours, feeling her warmth as the fire stayed strong. He had memorized everything about her as a yawn escaped his lips.
Probably should hit the hay, he thought. Untangling Celest's arms from his waist, hearing her groan in small protest. He picked her up in his arms and moved her bedding away from the fire, against the cave wall. Slowly, he laid her down on the auburn and brown furs that were the perfect bedding. He pulled back the top fur before he laid her on the bed, using that fur as a blanket bringing it up to her shoulders. Covering her body effortlessly. He smiled at her sleeping form, beginning to stand to return to his own bed. But he was stopped by a delicate needy hand that clung to his front.

"Sleep next to me." Celest asked, staring at him with sleepy eyes that contained need. "Hold me in your arms, please Kaname." She wished and he granted it. He slowly climbed into her bed, his chest against her back as his arms wrapped around her waist. Pulling her tight against him as they spooned together, his warmth radiating into her slim body. It wasn't long until she turned in his arms and wrapped her own around him. Burying her face in his chest as she could feel his heart beat. The electricity between them was dancing, but soon died to a halt as they both slipped into sleepiness.

Dreaming about one another.

❄️

After a long restful night they awoke to the rising sun, sitting on the ledge of their cave as their feet swayed over the edge. Drinking herbal tea in a bone like bowl that fit in the palm of their hand. Sipping their tea as they watched the sky's purples, yellows, oranges, and reds turn into the infamous blue. It was a nice morning, a cool breeze ran through the trees and made the cave nice and breezy. They sat on the ledge in silence. Their feet doing the cute touch every now and then. Sometimes keeping their feet together just so they could be connected. They didn't speak about the night before when they slept in each other's arms. They didn't asked what it meant, what it could mean, or if the other was okay with it. He had awoken her with a kiss to her forehead. Which made her melt and the sparks of emotion and feeling danced in a frenzy. They were both smiling like fools while they made breakfast. Robin eggs and strips of wild boar as they finished their meal with a cup of tea on the ledge. Which is where they sat now, watching the forest coming alive from its peaceful slumber. Celest smiled as she heard the distant sound of birds and deer frolicking in the meadow. Enjoying the sweet sweet sound of life itself. They stared upon the forest, upon the place that have been their home for months.
That was when Kaname made a serious decision. It was time to leave. Kaname knew that the final battle was upon them and the Guardians could use all the help they could get. She was strong enough and learned a life time of skills in one week. She had grown in bounds and she will only get stronger, but she was strong enough to fight in this. She was ready.

"Celest," Kaname's voice was soft as he grabbed Celest's attention.

"Hm?" She hummed in response, still a little sleepy. Looking at him as he looked absolutely dazzling, taking her breath away.

"It's time to leave." His voice was calm and almost emotionless.

"W-what?" Celest questioned, taken aback from his words.

"You're ready. You're strong enough to serve and to fight along with Elsa and the others. The final battle is upon them and they need our help. As familiars, it is our duty to protect our Masters and fight along them in the most dangerous events. It's time for us to join them."

Celest was worried about the same thing Kaname was. Once they left the cave and returned to the outside world, will he fall for a women? And if he did, would she be able to move on from him? But it was selfish, it was selfish to keep him all to herself if he did not wish to belong to her. It was selfish to keep his options limited to her and her alone. And she knew what he said was true, it was time to join the Guardians.

"Alright," she agreed with me. Giving him a smile, "when do you want to leave?"

"Hmm, let's leave tomorrow morning, that way we can prepare the cave and hide it in case we want to return."

"Return?" Her eyes widened. "Like just the two of us?"

He looked into her eyes, seeing the excitement that danced within them. "Well I would hope so. But I think once you lay in a bed you might not want to come back." His chest vibrated with a chuckle. That damn chuckle, she thought, always able to make my heart tingle and melt.

That was when an idea popped into her head. One that made her nervous and may ruin the relationship they had formed these past few months. But she wanted to know the answer, wanting to fulfill her curiosity with one risky question. She licked her lips and with a breath of courage she asked, "if I do chose the bed..." she took a breath, "will you be there with me?"

"Celest, I'm not going anywhere. I'm going to the same place that you are." He misunderstood her question.

"No, that's not what I meant." And she began to restate her thoughts, "What I mean is...will you be laying next to me in the same bed. Will you...hold me in your arms and never let go?"

He was surprised by her question as a sense of relief washed over him. The thoughts of her leaving him left his mind as a smile crossed his lips. Her questioned only confirmed her feelings about him, making Kaname beam with so much happiness that his heart couldn't sit still.

"Yes," he answered, placing his hand on her's as he gave it a tight squeeze. She looked at him with wide, bewildered eyes. "I will lay in bed with you and allow yourself to ease into my embrace. For...I can't bare to see you in someone else's arms. I can't bare the thought of not seeing your every morning and not falling asleep to your beautiful eyes. I guess what I'm saying is...is that I love you. And I felt this for a while and I didn't know the right-"

His voice was cut off by two lips eagerly pressing against his. Arms wrapping around his neck as he was frozen from the sudden burst of affection. Her lips against his was still, testing the waters to see if he would respond. He was frozen still in shock, still trying to process what to do as he blushed like a fool. Once she felt him not responding she began to pull away. But once he realized that she was moving away, he snapped out of his shock and slammed his lips back against her's. And their emotions exploded in sparks of electricity, shooting every time they touch each other. His hand tangled in her hair while the other was on the small of her back. Their lips moved in perfect sync as their breaths began to become heavy. Celest's hands pulled his body against her's, another fluttered of sparks igniting from the contact. This kiss was passionate but at the same time timid and shy. It was filled with need but with enough caution not to push the other out of their comfort zone. Her soft moans against his lips drew him crazy and encouraged him to do more. Slowly, cautiously, he ran his tongue against her bottom lip, her cheeks turning a beet red as it made her tremble. Seeing how it affected her, he did it again, this
time a little more comfortable with the idea. She parted her lips and allowed him to taste her tongue. That feeling of electricity only ignited in great magnitude every time their tongues touched. They kissed a months worth of hidden affection and need. A months worth of dashing glances, romantic dreams, and wishful thoughts. They kissed until their lungs couldn't go another second without air, making them tear their lips apart as they tried to catch their breath. Their hot pants brushed against each others lips, their foreheads staying connected. Staring into each other's eyes as love and lust swirled within them.

"I love you too." Celest said breathless. Burying her face in his shoulder as she clung onto him. Catching her breath as she tried to calm her fast beating heart. Kaname chuckled and wrapped his arms around her. Giving her a squeeze as he stroked her hair, helping her calm down as she purred.

"Someone got very excited," he whispered in her ear. Being a tease as the tips of her ears turned pink making a warm-hearted laugh burst from his chest. She slapped his chest playfully, her own chest bursting out into laughter. By this time now the sun was high in the sky, finally beginning the morning that would so quickly drift off into the afternoon. Their laughs soon died off, knowing that they both needed to get to business.

"Come on," Kaname said, making Celest pick her head up from his shoulder. "Let's get to work." He gave her a peck on the lips and helped her to her feet. Dusting themselves, they began to get to work. They had a long day ahead of them, but no matter how tiring it may be, their smiles never faded.

To prepare the cave for their absence they had to do a great number of steps. They broke limbs from trees and gathered long blades of deer grass. They took the limbs and placed them side by side, tying them with the grass as they made a compact skinny gate. This would go in front of the cave and then branches and ferns would be laid on the fence to conceal the cave's opening. Keeping out unwanted guest. They would then take a deer hide that wasn't valuable for any kind of use and put the scent of a lion on it. Hoping that the strong husky scent of lion would keep any kind of critters or predator away. On the day they leave, they'll wrap any kind of tool, bowl, or plate they made in the furs and they will be kept in the very back of the cave. But they will allow themselves to keep their favorite fur. Celest choose the fur of the white wolf to keep while Kaname kept the black panther skin. But before they could do any of that they must sweep all the ash and soot that was created by the many fires out of the cave. They worked hard into the evening, breaking a sweat when the sun began to disappear in the horizon. With the fading light they returned to the cave and made a deal to enjoy their last night.

That night they cooked all their food, leaving some eggs and slices of boar for the morning. They had a feast, rabbit stew and wild steamed potatoes. Carrots cooked with deer meet and boar fat. Leaving fresh Strawberries for dessert. They ate until their bellies were full, throwing the leftover in the meadow far far away for the animals to munch on. They snacked on strawberries and sipped on tea as they talked and laughed. Their heart's fluttering from each other's voices. Melting from the sound of they're laughter as they fed each other strawberries in the most cutest way. Once their laughs ended, they looked at each other. Staring into each other's eyes as Celest bit her bottom lip. Making His eyes snap to her lips and back into her deep blue.

"I want to kiss you," Kaname said sincere, leaning in slowly.

Her lips perk up into a smirk. Her hand grabbing the back of his head as her nose stroke against his. "Then why don't you?" She said teasingly. Making him grin as he placed his tea down on the cave floor, feeling the furs beneath them.

"You're such a tease!" He growled and slammed his lips against her's. Making her fall on her back as he hovered above her, kissing her sweet and passionately. He loved her body beneath him, his hands running down her sides with great need. He squeezed her hips as Celest wrapped her legs around his waist. Her arms around his neck as they clung onto each other. Loving each other's embrace as they kissed in the most romantic and passionate ways. His touch started fires of pleasure across her skin. Her hands running down his back, igniting fires of her in. Their lips and tongues dance in passionate splendor and absolute bliss. They were happy, absolutely happy.
The rest of the night was filled with love and kisses. A night of melting passion falling slowly into a deep restful sleep into each other's arms. The songs of the nightingale singing far away.
