Chapter 22

READER'S POV

Dreamworld...

"Wake up...."

A calm soothing voice said to me while I still had my eyes closed.

"Hmm... let me sleep a bit longer..."

I mumbled and then the voice said to me again.

"Wake up...(Y/n)..."

I opened my eyes and everything around me was in a golden colour for some reason and it felt really warm at the same time like a loving mother holding a child. I looked around and I spoke up.

"Where am I?"

"The time has come for you to awaken your true power..."

"My true...power? ...who are you and...where are you?!"

I shouted but no answer until everything around me turned black.

Dream ends...

I shot my eyes open after I sat up quickly. I was panting in exhaustion still shaken by that dream. I looked around and I was back in my room and it was daylight outside. I sighed in relief and I wiped the sweat from my forehead.

"That dream again...what does it mean?"

I mumbled to myself as I got out of bed. Suddenly, that burning on the back of my hand came back again and this time it was painful that it was before. I gripped my right wrist as the painful burn got worse. Once the burning feeling was gone, I looked at the back of my hand and I wondered why this was happening.

"First that weird dream and now this? what's going on with me?"

Before I started my work as Dark Link's personal servant again, I wanted Vaati or Zoey to check the back of my hand and I had hoped one of them would tell me why my hand was burning. Vaati was examining my hand and he could see a little redness where the burning I kept feeling was.

"How often do you feel this mysterious burning?"

"It just comes and goes without any reason, it started a couple of weeks ago, I thought it was nothing at first but, the pain is getting worse not to mention the back of my hand is turning a bit red."

"Hm, I can see that, well, unfortunately, I don't know what's going on but, just to be on the safe side, I'll put some ointment to stop the burning and I'll add a bandage on it too."

"Thanks, Vaati."

I said to him as he wrapped a bandage around my hand. Zoey was in the middle of cleaning Vaati's leech tank and she then looked at me.

"Word to the wise, (Y/n) if Dark Link tells you to clean out something as horrible as this, don't do it because this is a very disgusting business."

"Well, perhaps you will think twice about lying to me in the future."

I sweat dropped a little when he said this and I then asked Zoey.

"Zoey what did you do this time?"

"Uh...nothing for you to worry about."

Vaati sighed and he then said to me.

"If you must know, Zoey smashed one my potion bottles again and she tried to cover it up."

"Zoey!"

I shouted and she then said to me.

"Don't yell at me, I said I was sorry didn't I?!"

"Well, sorry doesn't exist in my dictionary and I like I said, you'll twice about lying to me in the future, OK? now get back to work."

Zoey groaned and just when she was about to continue with cleaning the tank, I then said to her.

"Uh, Zoey?"

"What now?"

Zoey looked at me and I tried my best to hold in my laughs when I saw two leeches on her face.

"Um...there's something on your face."

"Where?"

Zoey said as she patted her cheeks a little and then Vaati held up a mirror so she could get a better look until she started to panic when she saw the leeches on her right hand and on her face.

"Kyaa!! ew!! ew!! get off me!! ew!"

I burst out laughing and Vaati chuckled when Zoey started panicking while trying to get rid of the leeches that were stuck on her face and on her hands. I stood up from the chair and I then said to Vaati.

"Well, anyway, thanks for this Vaati."

"You're welcome if that burn still bothers you be sure to come back as long as Dark Link doesn't have you on a tight leash."

"I'll keep that in mind, see you later, Zoe and have fun with the leeches."

Zoey death glared at me and I then made a run for it before she could even think about killing me.

ZOEY'S POV

I growled annoyingly and I then grumbled.

"Damn that (Y/n) she's always finding ways to tease me, she's going to pay for that..."

"*Chuckles* you can kill her later, right now, get back to work."

"*Sighs* yes master."

I grumbled and I then got my scrubbing my brush and I got back to work on cleaning the tank.

VAATI'S POV

I chuckled as Zoey got back to work. I then remembered about that burn on (Y/n)'s hand and I wondered why she even had that burn int he first place. I stood up from my desk chair and I looked through some of my shelves to find out what caused (Y/n) to have that burn in the first place.

"Vaati, what are you doing?"

"That burn on (Y/n)'s hand, I haven't seen anything like it so I'm doing a bit of research to find out what caused it to appear like that."

"Need any-"

"Nope! you just keep cleaning the tank."

Zoey sighed and then she got back to work. I flipped through a few pages of a book that I found and I thought to myself.

'That wasn't your ordinary burn that you get from a flame or from touching some hot metal, that one looked different but, why though? is it magic?'

READER'S POV

I could still feel the stings on my right hand where I kept feeling that burn from before and I still couldn't understand why this was happening to me but, I did my best to ignore it. Dark Link was practising as usual and then he saw me. He stopped hitting the practise dummy for a second and he came towards me.

"There you are, where were you?"

"Sorry I'm a bit late to do my usual routine but that's because I had to go and see Vaati."

"What happened to your hand?"

I looked at my bandaged hand and I didn't want to tell him about me feeling a sudden burning pain in my hand so I said to him.

"It's nothing, just an old war injury I took when I was a kid before the invasion happened, nothing to worry about, Vaati managed to put some ointment on it and bandaged it as well."

"I see, anyway, some my weapons need sharpening and polishing."

"I understood."

I said to him and I then got to work on sharpening some of the daggers since Dark Link also has one of his blacksmiths sharpening and polishing some of the weapons. The blacksmith noticed this and he then said to me.

"You seem to have a natural talent for this."

"Well, I was the adopted daughter of a blacksmith back in my old home, so he pretty much taught me everything he knew about making weapons and armour as well, so it's not that hard once you get the hang of it."

"*Chuckles* well at least it's good to know that someone knows how to do their job, the last slave who tried doing this didn't even know what they were doing."

"Obviously, it would take a total plonker to hurt themselves when it comes to this stuff."

The blacksmith nodded his head in agreement when I said this. I placed the dagger back on the weapons table and I then took a throwing knife from the table and I began to sharpen it.

"You know, master Dark Link has changed a bit recently.

"Has he?"

"Yeah, he seems calmer than usual and he doesn't seem to snap at anyone or take his anger out on people whenever he's training, it's actually surprising because this is a side of him we haven't seen before."

I looked at Dark Link and he was still practising with his sword as he hit the practise dummy a few times. I smiled a little and I thought to myself.

'Ever since Dark Link and I talked from before, he's changed completely, looks like I'm not the only one who noticed this...'

Dark Link glanced at me and I looked away quickly as I got back to work. The blacksmith chuckled when he noticed the look on my face.

"Why do I get the feeling that you might have something to do with the change?"

"Uh, it has got nothing to do with me!"

I said as I blushed a little as I went back to work. Suddenly, I felt that burning on my hand and this time it started glowing a little. I gritted my teeth in pain and I grabbed my wrist tightly as I felt that sharp pain in my hand again. Dark Link saw this and he then asked me.

"Hey! are you all right over there?"

"I'm fine!"

I said while trying to hold back my pained expression. Once the pain passed, I looked at my hand I could tell that something was obviously wrong.

MEANWHILE...

LEILA'S POV

"Are you friggin kidding me?!!"

I yelled in anger after I read the book that Vaati gave me and I frowned in anger. Ganon heard me yelling and he then came into my room and asked me.

"What's going on Leila? why are you shouting?"

"I'm afraid we've got a huge problem with the Triforce of light."

"What are you talking about?"

I showed Ganon the page that I had just read and I said to him.

"I was reading this part about Azura passing her power onto one of the Sheikah members, turns out that Lily or should I say Serana's family ancestor, was one of the carriers for the Triforce of Light."

"And?"

"I told Serana that I knew who she really is that night but, when I looked at her hand where the mark was supposed to be it's not there anymore, turns out, Serana had passed her power onto someone else and I don't have a clue who that person is."

"What?! how did you not see this earlier?!"

Ganon yelled at me and I then said to him.

"Calm down, look, when I spoke to her when she died she said she doesn't have a clue what happened to her mark but she clearly lied, so, that's why I'm paying Dark Link a little visit and get him to give me Serana's journal, there might be a clue to who she gave that power to."

"You better do it and fast because I'm starting to lose my patience."

"I understand that but I'm working as fast as I can and besides, it's not easy tracking down a lost magic that's similar to mine, now you know how I feel."

I mumbled that last part and then Ganon glared at me angrily. I sweat dropped and I chuckled nervously and I said to him.

"Hehe, never mind, I'll be going now."

I said as I dashed out of my room and I turned a corner. I panted a little bit after escaping Ganon before he got angry. I frowned a little and I thought to myself.

'Whatever Serana was hiding that day before she died, it's clear to me she gave that power to someone she knew all too well, but, the question is who?'

I was about to walk down the dark hallway until my mark started glowing. I looked at it and then Ziris' voice appeared in my head.

"If you keep walking down this path, you'll never see the light again."

"You don't have to tell me twice, I've already made my choice, nobody accepted me because of this power, I'm fine on the path that I'm on right now and I will find the Triforce of Light."

"You won't find it that easily, my sister's power won't be yours or Ganon's, it will remain with the person who has it."

"I don't care, now stop talking in my head and leave me alone."

I mumbled before Ziris stopped talking to me altogether. I smirked evilly and I then thought to myself.

'I don't care if that woman is the one who gave me this power all I care about right now, is making Ganondorf stronger and get revenge on those who turned their backs on me all those years ago.'
