Hinata PoV (most of this story is gunna be Hinata PoV)
After we finally got all the dye out of my hair, which took forever, Tooru waited outside while I took a quick shower. He tried to convince me a bath was safer but did I listen? No. Because I knew I'd never be able to get out of the bath so a shower seemed like the answer. I unstrapped the brace holding the ice to my foot and gave it to Tooru, he put the ice back in the freezer so it would be extra cold when I put it back on, and stripped the rest of my clothes off while he was gone. Hopping over to the open shower I had I turned on the shower as I stood by the sink waiting for it to heat up. Eventually it was the scorching temperature that I like, there's nothing better then spending a cold day at the rink and taking a hot shower or bath afterwards, and carefully hopped in holding on to the wall rail tightly. As I balanced on one foot I washed my hair again and scrubbed all the sweat off of my body, washing my face as well to remove the feeling of my tears that still lingered. Once I was done I stepped out and sat on the sink as I pulled on my boxers and T-shirt. My joggers were on the opposite side of the room, so against my better judgement I hopped off the sink onto one foot, slipping and crashing hard. "Tooru!" I called out though I can guarantee he heard me fall. "Are you decent or am I just coming in anyway" I breathed through gritted teeth hissing "just come here"

He slowly opened the door expecting me to be naked or something but instead I was there in my boxers and T-shirt lying on the floor hissing in pain. "You idiot! What'd you do?!" I told him how I fell and he gave me a look off 'well that was dumb' and grabbed my joggers. "Let me help you put them on" he sat me on the sink again and ruffled up the trousers so the waistband was at he feet (you know like you do with tights or socks?) and pulled them up over my good ankle. He then slowly manoeuvred the other one around my foot and ankle without touching it and pulled them up slightly. He lifted me off the sink and let me stand up leaning against him as I pulled up the waist to their place on my hips.
When I finally got dressed he swept me up into his arms carrying me back to my bed and placing me on the sheet with the quilt pulled back. "Let me grab your brace and then I'll be back ok?" I just nodded and watched him sneak out the door, checking for Karasuno first. They weren't back yet but that meant I got more time than Tooru so I didn't mind. He came back pretty quick with it and a cup of tea which apparently nana made for us. As he strapped it on he said something that shocked me "your legs are looking better" he whispered it as he crawled into bed with me pulling the covers over us and snuggling me tightly. "Y-yeah I guess, I haven't done it since. I'm trying figure out how to tell my dads." He just hummed closing his eyes holding me close. "Tooru are you ok?" "Y-yeah I'm just...I guess I'm worried about you. It's stupid I know." "It's not stupid, what's worrying you" he took a deep sigh and started petting my hair

"Well when you called me the other day I was scared out of my mind, and then when I actually got here I was mortified. I get that we're new to this, theres a lot I don't know but I just got terrified of what happens to you that I don't know or when I'm not here. And I figured that's why you asked for long sleeves the first time you slept over but I didn't want to ask... and then earlier! I couldn't stand to see you like that, In so much pain and looking so distraught. And with everything going on I feel like I'm not there for you or I'm not enough"
I stared at him for a second. I never knew so much was bothering him. "T-Tooru" my words failed me as my eyes filled with tears. He opened his eyes and saw my face suddenly looking surprised and worried for me, "ah! Sho im sorry I shouldn't have said it"  I shook my head "no-no it's fine I j-just didn't know you had so much on your mind" as tears began to leak from my eyes he quickly wiped them away, pressing a kiss to my forehead and I shoved my face into his chest sobbing. "I'm -hic- Sorry Tooru!" "No dont be sorry you did nothing wrong" "but you're beating yourself up because of me! If I had just told you or-" "hey, stop. It's no ones fault. We aren't even dating yet so I don't expect to know everything about you, I've barely told you anything about myself so I can't expect to know all your secrets. I just got scared today that's all"

Pushing myself off of his chest I looked up at him and frowned "I don't want to blame anything on us not dating anymore, if we don't know about each other why don't we just get to know each other? I want to know more about you, and maybe finally being able to open up will help me. " "why don't we talk now then? We've got time until Karasuno come back and I'm sure Suga will come to warn me to sneak out. So what do you want to know?" "Whatever you want to tell me"

"Well, I was born July 20th (happy birthday Oikawa since I'm writing this chapter on his birthday) I'm 18 tomorrow, I-" "WAIT ITS YOUR BIRTHDAY TOMORROW?!" "Y-yeah" "you didn't think to tell me?" He shook his head and averted his eyes "I have bad memories of my birthday so I don't like to celebrate, I didn't want you to feel inclined to do something when I'll probably be in a bad mood" "what happened? You don't have to tell me I just-" "my parents had a huge fight on my 15th birthday and divorced, I was talking to them about how I was going to see Iwa-chan and my dad got upset because he's gay. They had a fight and my dad said some.. horrible homophobic things and ended up h-hitting my mother. I ran to Iwa-chans house and stayed there for a while. When I went home my mum was crying and my dad had left, so I've hated my birthday since, that's why I didn't tell you" now I understood his breakdown in the toilets that day when we had practice, he had already seen his family be torn apart by a friend being gay and he was terrified of what could happen if he came out. "I'm sorry Tooru" "don't be, me and my mum are actually pretty close, it's just the day I don't like. He never touched me anyway and my mum wasn't hurt that bad so we've tried to just forget it. Now that I think about it that's the only interesting thing about me other than volleyball and my knee"
"Huh what about your knee?" "Wow we really haven't talked much have we? I injured my knee in my second year and it never really healed properly so I always have to wear a brace and Iwa-chan has to stop me from pushing myself too far or else I can't play. He gets really mad at me about it" "is that why you wear one white knee brace and one black?" "Yep! The white one is my bad knee"

"Well if we're talking about family, my dads in prison" he looked at me with shock sitting up straighter to see my full body. "I didn't know-" "no one does, well other than Yuri, Victor and Yurio. I haven't told anyone, they just assume I don't have a dad because I never mention him. H-he was a child abuser, o-on more than one occasion" "oh my god Shoyo, are you ok? When was he arrested?" "A y-year ago" a tear slipped down my cheek once again and he kissed the trail it made. "Um I guess I still have P-Ptsd from it but it's not that bad. I have -um- stress related depression b-but that's usually due to skating and volleyball so I'm ok I promise!" Tooru was at a loss for words, he just continued to look at me with with pity and concern. I sat up straight shuffling to give him a hug when I yelped in pain. "OUCH!" I hissed through gritted teeth and jumped slightly when my ankle hit Toorus legs. "What happened is it your ankle?" "Yeah I hit it on your legs because they're inhumanly long!" This caused him to giggle while I groaned and the tension and negative emotions faded away. "You know you should probably drink that tea before it gets cold"

Time skipppppp

We continued to talk about ourselves until eventually there was a knock at the door. "Who is it?" "Suga!" "Oh ok come in" I yelled back hearing the handle click and it slowly open. "Hi mr refreshing!" "Sup Oiks" just as Suga went to shut the door another person pushed it open. "Shoyo?" Uncle Yuri stepped in closing the door behind him and coming closer to me and Tooru in the bed, "you're dads told me to check on you or whatever, before your team sleeps over" he grumbled taking a sip of my tea. " I came here to warn Oiks he needs to sneak out, oh and to bring you your rice balls and ramune" Suga smiled handing me a bag "thanks Suga" "of course! I'm gunna go get changed and then I'll be stealing Oiks place so you might want to head out soon in case the team get here before me, bye" he waved at Oikawa and Yuri before stepping out into the corridor heading back to his room to get into his pjs. "Anyway you ok? Ankle hurting?" "This idiot decided to take a shower and fell over trying to get dressed so I had to help him" Yuri smirked at me and I turned red from embarrassment "I-I was decent it wasn't like that!" I squealed waving my hands in front of my face. "I'm just teasing, but you're good right? I mean, I saw the bandages on your leg today- your parents may not have but I know you haven't told them so?" "Um that was this morning, but I called Tooru and he helped me! I didn't want to disappoint them so I didn't tell them" he nodded and ruffled my hair "well you should get comfy I assume Sugawara won't be letting you move at all so no one sees the brace. Do you need to get changed before Oikawa leaves?" "Nope I'm in sleeping joggers so I'm here for the night" "ok then I'll tell the family you're fine, if you want anything just text me and I'll get Nana to send it over. Have fun or whatever"

He left quickly and then it was just me and Tooru. "I guess I better go, Iwa-chan will yell at me if I don't eat and anyone could barge straight through the door any second" I nodded reaching up to wrap my arms around his neck and placing a soft, slow kiss to his lips. Once we broke apart I whispered "I'll see you at practice tomorrow?." "That's if they let you go. But yes I'll see you there, even if you just sit on the bench. Now have fun ok?" "I'll have fun if you let me wish you a happy birthday tomorrow" "if you must, no doubt Iwa-chan will" I chuckled at his look of disgust and gave him one last peck before making shooing motions with my hand and pointing to the window. "I got it I'm going I'm going. Don't forget to text me later ok?" "Ok just go I can hear Nishinoya yelling at the other end of the corridor! Love you bye" I yelled as he shut the window.

Now I was left alone with a crushing feeling of loneliness as I waited for a knock on my door. It felt like hours before the door opened causing me to whip my head towards it. "HINATA!" Nishinoya yelled as he let go of Asahis hand running towards me and jumping on top of me. He somehow managed to miss my ankle and lay fully on top of me with his arms hugging on to me as if for dear life. "Oi Noya, I already dibs cuddling rights today" Suga chuckled walking in with Daichi. The captain moved to stand next to Asahi while Suga came towards me and Noya practically prying the smaller boy off of me. "Go cuddle with your boyfriend and let me have my son" Noya got up grabbing Asahis hand and laying his futon down before pulling the ace to the floor and wrapping his arms around him. "You can take the inside today Suga" I said shuffling slightly to let him get under the covers in the space next to the wall "the ice is on my right foot and I don't want you to get cold" I whispered to him as he got settled. He nodded and curled up against me whilst the rest of the team started coming in. "What film we watching boyyyyssss!?" Tanaka yelled as he stormed in dragging Ennoshita. "Not sure, I was gunna let you guys pick, there's a load of films in that cabinet under the tv if you wanna choose" "YES TANAKA LETS PICK SOME FILMSSS" Noya yelled springing up from the floor and running to the tv with tanaka. "Oo you have the sword art online film? Oo and the new my hero one as well! Wait you have all the marvel films too, and the fairy tail ones. Oh and what are these?" He pulled out a collection of dvds labelled 'ice palace' "hey isn't that what the ice rink is called? What are these?" I had to come up with a lie quick, nana always liked to buy the dvds of our families performances at the rink and stockpiled them all in my room since I wasn't here that often. "Nana buys the dvds of all the skating here, I guess she keeps them in here since I'm not here much" "oh ok, how about we watch the sword art online film, then dead pool?" "Yeah sounds good!" We all replied.

We finished our first film and halfway through the second my phone began to ring. "Oops that's mine sorry guys, does anyone see it? It's not on the bed" we all looked around the room before noticing it next to Kageyama "it's here Boke" he called out grabbing it and throwing it at me. 'Hm? I don't recognise this number' I thought as I pressed the green answer button. "Hello is this Hinata Shoyo?" "This is He, can I ask who you are?" "Oh sorry this is the Miyagi hospital, I have some news for you" "o-oh" "well it's a Miracle but you're younger sister Natsu woke up a little while ago" "she did!" My eyes welled with tears at the good news. "She seems ok apart from a slight concussion and a broken arm, would you like to speak with her." "Y-yes please" I heard movement on the other side of the phone and put it on speaker mode waiting to hear her voice

"Shoyo?" "N-Natsu" I cried at the sound of her perfectly healthy on the other side. "Hey Shoyo! Sorry I couldn't come to see you with mum" "don't be sorry, I'm glad you're ok. The doctor said you broke your arm is it alright?" "I have this hard thing on it but they said when I see my friends they can draw on it so I don't mind. Is Tobio there?" "Hey Natsu" Kageyama called out from across the room. "Tobio-nii! Guess what?" "Wassup?" "I did some counting and my birthday is in 20 days!" "Wow you're getting so smart, you'll be better than your brother soon" "haha Shoyo's stupid" "don't call me stupid dummy" "sorry sorry" "your sister knows Russian?" Asahi asked. "Is that you're volleyball team? Hi everyone!" "Hello!" "Ahhh your brother has told us all about you, how old are you going to be on your birthday?" Suga asked, acting like the mother he is. "I'll be 5!" "And I still need to buy all your presents, so why don't you write me a list while I'm still at camp. And then I'll come visit you as soon as I get home alright?" "Can you bring Tobio-nii? And can I meet the team? Oh and can you tell dad too?" "Of course I can, I'll bring the team down to see you as well ok? Plus I have another friend I want you to meet" "can I see Kenma *yawn* again?" "Maybe sweetie, now why don't you go to sleep. It's getting late and you need to get better" "can you call me again tomorrow?" "Of course, now get some rest alright" "bye bye Shoyo, bye bye a Karasuno!" "Bye Natsu!!"

The phone beeped signalling she hung up and I lay back against Suga's chest letting out the breath I didn't know I was holding. "I'm so glad she's ok" I whispered closing my eyes and accidentally falling asleep.

Suga PoV
"Looks like he fell asleep guys" I smiled stroking the gingers hair who slept peacefully on my chest. "Let him sleep, Im Sure that was relieving for him" Daichi responded "his sister is so cute!" "Yeah I wanna meet her now!" Noya and tanaka squealed. "Yeah, she's pretty smart for her age and she always asks me to teach her how to play volleyball. Looks a lot like her brother too" "when did you meet her Kageyama?" "Oh Hinata invites me to sleep over a lot and so obviously she'd be there" as I looked around at the small first year and the clock on the wall i figured, "why don't we head to sleep, I don't wanna wake him up with the tv" Daichi seemed to agree and stood up switching off the tv and turning off the lights. "Let's not bother him, night guys" "night everyone"

Authors note- I've had a few comments about Yurios ages so let me say, for the purpose of this ff I've made him the same age as Yuri. I've also aged the three yoi characters up a bit to make them more suitable as parents and Yurio as uncle Yuri

I'm slightly stumped on how I want the team finding out about Hinata's skating so if you have any ideas please comment, or how the team finds out about Hinata dating oikawa. :)
