CHAPTER 1: Friends Beneath The Water

- CAMP HALF-BLOOD -

The group sat in silence for a moment as they looked at the tension between Reyna and Jason, Leo was the first to break such pressuring silence as he cleared his throat, drawing attention to him. “So do I need to go fire up the Agro III? Or? Where are we going?” “Argo III?” Hazel questions Leo as she leaned over to see him in the room. “Yeah I made a new one after the Argo II was destroyed.” Leo said of handedly, and Chiron swiftly brought the attention back to him. “Mostly all the campers disappeared while in the camps borders, few of them appeared in Destin Florida, some in Lake Texoma, and one of them reappeared near the Sea of Monsters” Chiron spoke while everyone tried to process the information.

“Most of the campers disappeared while in camp borders? Which of them didn’t?” Jason questioned, “Ten campers disappeared in total. Six were found in the places I just mentioned.” Chiron answered, and Reyna continued, “Three had disappeared while on a quest and were assumed dead, but they were later found outside camp Jupiters borders and had shown signs of being drowned.” “And one has still not been found.” Chiron finished, and all the half-bloods had frowns upon their faces with this new information. “So six alive, three dead, and one who has the possibility of being either?” Frank asked, assessing the situation, “Have all six lost their minds?” Leo questioned more to Mr. D then Chiron. Mr. D chuckled slightly, “Hell I’ll say! I’ve been known to make people go insane but I've never seen people go this crazy.”

“So the massacre begins again.” Jason said lowly while turning his head to Reyna as he glared at her. “Dude, not the time.” Reyna spoke, now too tired to snap at him again. “Okay, ignoring whatever drama you guys got going on,” Annabeth started, getting the attention focused on her rather than the glaring pair. “We need to split up in groups of three. Each of us will go to one of the locations and see what we can find.” Everyone nodded, and Leo was the first to call, “Me, Jason, and Piper will head to Lake Texoma.” “Why do you immediately want to go to Lake Texoma?” Percy questioned, his curiosity great. “Because I’m from Texas, duh.” Leo said, like everyone in the room, had the power to read his mind. “Well, okay then.” Percy said, accepting his answer, while Nico was next to call his group. “I guess me, Hazel, and Frank can head down to Destin Florida.” Annabeth nodded and spoke, “Cool, and since me, Percy, and Reyna have survived the Sea of Monsters before we can go there.” Percy and Reyna nodded in agreement.

“Yeah, it's not happening. I don’t trust Reyna to go to the Sea of Monsters with anyone.” Jason said, his voice almost annoyed. “Dude, need I remind you that I can easily kick your ass?” Reyna questioned, taking a daring step towards Jason. Piper took a quick step between the short distance of the two and questioned both of them. “What is going on between you two? Y'all have problems.” “Let’s just say some shit happened on a quest, and I no longer trust Reyna to go to the Sea of Monsters.” Jason leaning in Reyna’s direction as he glared at her, “For fucks sake that was over five years ago and it wasn’t my fault.” Reyna said, and Nico noticed the falter in her glare, like she was sad.
“Who votes we keep Jason and Reyna very far away from each other?” Frank asked worriedly to the group, and everyone nodded.

“Everyone clear on what we’re doing?” Percy asked, “I believe so.” Piper said in confirmation. “Good everyone pack your things and meet back in an hour.” Annabeth ordered and everyone went their separate ways.

“Reyna, we need to talk.” Jason said behind Reyna as she stopped walking and turned to face Jason. “Not now, Jas-” Reyna was quickly cut off by a hand on her shoulder that quickly shoved her into the wall of the Big House. “Jason, what the hell!” “What did you do!? What did you do to them, Reyna!?” Jason shouted, his voice enraged. “What are you talking about!?” Reyna raised her voice to match Jason’s. “You know damn well what I’m talking about!?” Reyna pinned Jason’s hand to her shoulder and snuck in between the space as she put her back to his chest and rotated her hips, flipping Jason over her and quickly pinning him to the ground.

“Grace I don’t know what your fucking problem is, but you better knock it o-” “It was your song wasn’t it!?” Jason yelled, and Reyna’s pin on him faltered slightly. “I-..I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Reyna said, her voice dripping with unease. “Yes you do. Five of the campers were Romans, it was your song that lured them into the water wasn’t it?” Jason said his voice no longer loud but still full of deathly rage. “Jason..” Reyna whispered in disbelief. “Wasn’t it!? Was it you!?” Jason questioned, raising his voice once more.

“No! Gods, no, it wasn’t! I haven’t been near the water for two months!” Reyna desperately shouted, upset that someone so close to her would accuse her of such acts. “That’s bullshit and we both know it!” “You don’t know what you’re talking about!” Reyna was trying so hard to understand Jason’s accusation, “I know the last time you and I went on a quest involving Sirens, you almost killed me, and you drowned our friends!” Jason yelled, his voice slightly breaking at the end. “That wasn’t my fault! Their deaths were not my fault!”

“How do you figure! Your song made them lose their minds, and they jumped off the edge of a cliff!” Jason said, with much malice behind his voice. “Jason I told every single camper that day to cover their ears and beware the Sirens Song. It’s not my fault they disobeyed their leader.” Reyna said, her voice stern yet guilt still hung in her voice. “You shouldn’t have been using your song- you know how fucking dangerous that thing is?” Jason said, slowly. A great turn from his shouting.

“Jason you know damn well that I never use my song unless absolutely necessary. It is not my fault if those campers chose not to listen to me when I blatantly warned them about the Siren song.” Reyna answered, and Jason scoffed, “And what about the ones that are missing now, huh? Are they just victims of not listening to you?” “Jason, I had nothing to do with these campers.” Reyna said with finality in her tone. “Oh really cause five of them were in your damn camp.” Jason accused once again, and Reyna got up off of him, “I’m done with this Grace, believe me or not, I did nothing to those campers.” “Well I’m glad you said that cause I don’t believe you.” A knock on the Big House door caught their attention, and there stood Nico.
