Aldru looked across her cage to the lava dragon and began to sing. She sang a song for strength, one for luck, one for peace of mind, and many more. By the time the ships haulted again, Aldru was completely exhausted. It barely even phased her when the hunters came below to release the dragon from it cage.

Now back in human form, Aldru was slumped against the back wall of her cell, trying her hardest to stay awake.

Suddenly, her door opened, and in walked Viggo. He knelt in front of her and held a cup of water to her mouth. Aldru gladly drank the cold drink, letting it ease her aching throat.

When the cup was empty, she forced her eyes to look up at Viggo. He surely was a confusing man. "Why..?" She muttered.

Viggo spoke in a monotone voice, "you'll need to be more specific than that." It was obvious that he was holding something back, but Aldru didn't have the energy to prod him. "You need to stand up," he told her, putting an arm under her shoulders, "your blood will flow better."

Although it made her quite dizzy at first, Aldru had to admit that standing did make her feel more awake. She leaned her back against the wall and repeated, "why?"

"'Why' what?" Viggo questioned, his face still unreadable.

"Everything," was all Aldru could manage to say.

Finally Viggo met her eyes, and emotion seemed to seep through. He quickly looked away, turning his back toward her. It was only like this that he could say what he needed to, "to my..beloved Aldru."

Aldru felt her heart drop as she asked weakly, "..what did you say?"

Viggo clasped his hands behind his back and began to pace slowly as he recited on, "I'm deeply saddened that I will never meet you."

"Stop," Aldru demanded with all the energy she had, as if there was still a way to undo his words.

But Viggo went on, "there's so much I want to tell you." Aldru's eyes began to redden with tears. Anger, frustration, confusion. "But circumstances demand you and I live apart...so I pass this to you, may you have better luck with it..than I ever had."

Once finished, Viggo finally got the courage to look at Aldru again. But the hatred and disgust in her eyes shattered him. "No," She whispered weakly, "no.."

A sudden burst of energy jolted through Aldru and she screamed at the top of her lungs. The sound was louder than any human scream and much more high pitched. It grew louder and louder until the ship seemed to shiver. Viggo covered both of his ears and stumbled back onto the deck.

All of the other hunters covered their ears as well. Finally, the noise stopped. Ryker stomped over to his brother and demanded, "what was that?"

But Viggo couldn't answer. He was staring at the sky where every dragon on Dragon's Edge was plummeting toward them. Withing seconds, the ship was in flames and dragons began to tear it appart, board by board. It was a monstrous nightmare that gatheted the unconscious Aldru from below deck. She lifted her onto her nose and flew away.

The other dragons stayed and took care of the rest of Viggo's ships. Aldru was flown deep into the center of the island. There, all of the other wild dragons eventually gathered. Around her, they circled in a state of panic; some on the ground and some in the sky, protecting Aldru at all costs.

Viggo had lost, the Eruptadon was safely returned to her island, and the riders where just arriving back to the Edge. The closer they got, however, the weirder their dragons acted.

"No, Meatlug," Fishlegs tried to say, "we have to go this way." But Meatlug, and all of the other dragons, had different plans.

"What's going on over there?" Heather asked, noticing the cluster of wild dragons.

Astrid finally gave up trying to steer Stormfly and huffed, "well, looks like we're about to find out."

The dragons flew their riders right into the center of the commotion and landed. The wild dragons didn't even seem to notice that the riders had arrived. Hiccup pushed his way through to find a small brown haired girl lying on a bed of shredded moss, a massive monstrous nightmare lying with her tail protectively circling her. "It's Aldru," he shouted to the others and rushed over to her.

He was stopped, however, by a defensive nadder. The dragon was about to strike him when the giant nightmare growled lowly at the nadder as if to say, let him through. The nadder lowered it's tail and let them by. Hiccup fell immediately onto his knees and listened for a heartbeat. With a thankful sigh, he told the others, "she's alive."

"Do you think she fell out of the sky?" Ruff asked.

Fishlegs scanned the area. "No, this place is way too specific," he answered, "it looks like she was brought here."

Snotlout, who was currently swatting away a swarm of terrible terrors, asked, "why does it look like every dragon on the island is here?"

"I think because, they are all here," Astrid observed with worry, "something big must've happened."

"With what I've learned from the song wing lense," Fishlegs began to explain, "I'd say Aldru put out a distress call."

"To every dragon on the island?" Snotlout questioned.

This time, Hiccup answered, "these are her dragons; even if only one heard the call, that one would make sure everyone else knew."

There was a moment of quiet, then Snotlout suggested, "well let's take her back the Edge and figure this out, then."

"Great idea," Hiccup responded sarcastically, "do you want to be the one who carries her away from these hundreds of wild dragons who've sworn their lives to take care of her?"

Snotlout scoffed and made a face, crossing his arms in defiance. But he said nothing else, he knew Hiccup was right.

"What we need to do is wake her up so the dragons can see that she's alright," Fishlegs told them.

"Well," Astrid began, "the noise sure isn't waking her."

Barf and Belch looked at each other and headbutted lightly before running off. "Hey, where do you two think you're going?" Ruffnut demanded.

After a few moments, the dragon was running toward Aldru with thunderous steps. They stopped right before her and unloaded their mouth fulls of water onto her. But this time, that didn't work. Barf and Belch hung their heads in saddness.
