Samuel pulled Pete up the mountain path, tugging on the other boys hand a little harder when he lingered.

Sam kept walking. He didn't know what the fuck he was doing, he really didn't, but he wanted to get away.

As they ran up, Pete suddenly screamed. Samuel screamed too when he saw that Pete had slipped and fell through the floor- a hole had been covered up by leaves.

What a nasty trick Sam thought furiously, falling to his knees and trying to hold onto his brothers hand as he swung over the pit.

"P-pete, hold on!" Sam shouted, trying to pull.

But fate wasn't kind.

Sam coughed, and his grip loosened. Pete fell down, and without hesitation, Sam jumped after.

Waking up, Sam noticed everything hurt. His arms, his legs, his head. But to hell with him, where was Pete?!

He soon heard his little brother whimpering nearby. A cold dread washed over him as he stumbled over to his brother.

Pete had broken both legs and severely damaged one of his arms. Blood ran down his head and bruises covered his back.

Sam stood helplessly as his brother writhed in pain, before finally stilling.

Sam couldn't help it. He screamed. He screamed and cried and thumped Pete on the chest, he hyperventilated and choked, and he begged. He begged for help.

*but nobody came.

Sam couldn't breath. A sharp pain suddenly hit his neck and he fell unconscious...

When Sam awoke, he could hardly see. He appeared to be in a dark, dingy circular room. He lay on a black table, wires connecting into his arm from a strange machine.

Sitting up, Sam tugged at the wires, only to stop after hearing a voice.

"I wouldn't do that, if you remove them then all of the energy will be sucked out of you; it could do serious damage"

Sam looked up fearfully as a figure came into view.

They were incredibly tall, at least 6 feet, wearing a long grey cloak.

They had a skeletal face, with glowing light coming from the eye sockets and large cracks leading from each eye socket to the top/bottom of their skull.

They looked terrifying.

Again, Sam screamed.
