Aireona had been through the nightmare again. She knew that something must be causing it subconsciously, dreams always mean something, or at least that was her belief. Aireona, Lillie, and Hau we're walking to Wela Volcano, the site of the fire trial, when Hau seemed to spot something and immediately began looking frantically between that something and Lillie.

      Lillie was confused, "Hau is something wrong?"
"That boy over there," Hau paused "kinda looks similar to you."
That line was enough to get Aireona's attention. She looked over at the boy who was in the grass, seemingly searching for Pokémon. His hair was the exact same color as Lillie's and he had the same green eyes, but something about him was more sinister.

"Gladion?" Lillie squeaked, shocked.

Aireona was confused, "You know him?"

"Yes, he is my brother!" Lillie said excitedly. "Gladion!" She called rushing over to him. He seemed just as shocked to see her as she had to see him. Aireona decided not to get herself involved, she could tell this guy would be someone she would clash with and she wanted Lillie to have her moment. Hau on the other hand rushed over to introduce himself. Aireona could see them hurriedly talking, then Gladion glanced her way. 'Oh boy here we go' Aireona thought. He walked over and declared, "When trainers eyes meet they must have a battle" then he brought out his partner, a Pokémon Aireona had never seen before.

"That's an actual rule" Hau asked Lille.

"No, it's just a quick way to start a battle without anyone complaining" she responded.

Seeing no way around it, Aireona called out her Dartrex and the battle began. "Dartrex use leafedge!"

"Null use tackle!"

     Just as the tackle was about to hit, Dartrex took to the air. Null was thrown off balance due to the energy behind the tackle leaving an open opportunity for attack. Dartrex then used leafedge sending a constant stream of damage to Null. Then, hiding behind it's attack, Dartrex used tackle to deal the final blow at Aireona's command. Gladion seemed surprised, it was clear that he had never, or didn't often, see a pure strategy battle style.

     He ran off clearly not happy he had lost. The friends just stared at each other for a minute before all saying at the same time, "What just happened?". They had a good laugh before continuing to make their way to the volcano.
