We had been hanging out for close to a year before I found out. It was that happiest day of my life when he asked me to be his girlfriend, I had accepted without hesitation. Apparently he had gotten tips from Rylen on how to ask me, after all, Rylen and his girlfriend Summer had been going steady for over a year before he got tested.
One day I was over at his house playing Mario kart when I went to the bathroom, as soon as I sat down I got a text from Blaze.

B: dude, how should I tell her?
Genuinely curious, I replied. Blaze must've gotten the wrong number, he never calls me dude.
D: tell who what?

B: my girlfriend, Dottie! You know, about me being sick and all.

What? He was sick?
D: sorry bro, I'm a bit confused, life has been a little crazy recently, remind me?

B: you know, the virus? You're the only other person who knows!
I froze.
Tears started to well up in my eyes.
I finished up and walked out, tears streaming down my face.
"Blaze...." I sniffled.

"Yeah?" He asked then turned to look at me. He saw I was crying and looked down at his phone to notice his mistake.
"Oh Dottie....."
He buried his head in his hands.

"When were you gonna tell me?"

"I wanted to, I really did, I just wasn't sure how....."
I ran over to him and hugged him tightly then kissed his forehead.
"We'll get through this....."

"Don't you see, there is no cure, but I couldn't leave you, I wouldn't let them test me.... Nobody else knows...."

"Shhh.... It's okay.... We'll figure something else out, but for now, tell me, what's something you've always wanted to do?"

"Go bungee jumping....."

"Then get dressed, we're going bungee jumping!"
