Death
Death is like a dream, but one you don't ever wake up from.
In case you were wondering, no, I didn't die that day on the canyon, I woke up the next day in the hospital with Blaze sitting next to me, clutching my hand.
I sat up and asked him what was wrong, but the answer I got was nothing near what I was expecting.
"You're alive, and unharmed, but only because of me....."
"Don't give yourself too much credit!" I joked.
"No, this is serious, the only reason you didn't die, is because it wouldn't let you. The virus works in a way where you can't really be harmed until it's bacterial sporozoa have finished feasting on your cellular phylum."
"What?" I tilted my head.
"You didn't die because the virus wasn't done eating you yet....."
"What did all those words mean?"
"Sorry, scientific terms, I wanted to be a scientist when I got older..... Basically you have the virus.... And it's all my fault, and because the doctors know, they're sending you to the quarantine tomorrow...."
"Without you?!"
"I'm afraid so..... I'm getting put down today....."
"Huh?"
"The virus kills any species, but for some it's more painful, for us werewolves, the pain is so unbearable that they put us down like dogs so we won't have to endure the pain..."
Suddenly a doctor and a crew of security guards in gas masked walked in.
"Mr. Blaze, it's time." The doctor said.
"What? But you said I had an hour to talk to her!"
"It's been an hour..."
"But she's only been awake for five minutes!"
"Rules are rules Blaze, I'm afraid your time is up."
"No!" He cried as he struggled against the guards who had rushed and grabbed him.
"Wait please!" I cried after them as they stormed out of the room.
I sat there, tears forming in my eyes, then I broke, I couldn't handle this.
I heard a loud door slam, sat up, and bolted down the hallway.
Nurses shouted after me as I sprinted through the building in my little plastic gown, but I wasn't stopping.
I reached the door and pulled as hard as I could, it didn't budge. I looked around and spotted a window. I pressed my face against it and pounded on the glass, this called more guards to the scene as they ran up and tried to drag me away.
Blaze looked up and saw me, tears streamed down his face.
I screamed as loud as I could before someone punched me in the gut. I pulled away and pressed against the glass again. Blaze was being strapped down to a small table. He looked over at me.
"I love you!" I cried out as someone punched me in the head, and everything went dark.
