"are you sure about this Dottie?" Blaze shouted over the loud engines of my pickup truck.

"Of course I'm sure! why else would I do this?" I giggled as we went over a bump.
Blaze started to laugh.
I loved his smile, it was sweet, but masculine at the same time, whenever I saw him smile, I was filled with joy.
"So, why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"I didn't want to hurt you, those texts you got were supposed to be for a buddy of mine, his name's Aaron, he was our pack's alpha back at the high school, I still keep in touch with him though, it's sad that his college had to shut down so soon after the virus broke out, that's why he's always free."

"What does he do in his free time?"

"There's a small quarantine camp a few miles away, he goes there every day and plays his guitar outside the walls, hoping it might cheer someone up."

"That's so sweet! I wonder what it's like inside that place, I've driven by it a few times on my way out of town, it looks brutal."

"Yeah... I bet it is...."

We chatted for a little longer until we arrived at the bridge. I had signed us up to jump over a deep cliff, that way, there was no chance of us hitting our heads.
We walked up to the front desk, signed in, and got geared up.
Blaze went first, after all the safety procedures were explained to us and the equipment was secured, he jumped, I watched him plummet.
Down he went and then he bounced back up! This kept happening for awhile until all the bungee was gone and we all helped hoist him back up.
"That was amazing!" He shouted with joy, there was that smile again.
I looked over the rail and gulped, I had never been one for heights, but I was doing this for Blaze, I couldn't chicken out now.
I harnessed myself in, got checked, and was given the thumbs up.
It was time. So I jumped. The wind tickled my ears and tail. I laughed, it really was amazing.
While it lasted.
I don't quite know what happened at the moment, all I know was that I heard a loud
SNAP!
And suddenly I was falling.....

Into the dark abyss, I hit the gravel, heard a crunch, and everything disappeared.
