(Jack)

I wake up in Mark's arms. My head pounding. I go to get up but Mark grabs my arm in his sleep. I look at him and his whole body is tense. I lay with him, facing him. He seems to loosen up a bit and he starts to wake up. I look at him, he yawns and I smile. He smiles back, "Morning love.." I entwine our fingers together, "Morning newly wedded husband." He grins and gets up with me. We go downstairs and I get coffee. Mark gets Sarah and brings her over. I kiss her forehead and drink my coffee, needing something to get this hangover away. Mark plays with Sarah and I watch them, smiling. I look at them and I kiss their heads. They are my everything..

~6 1/2 years later~

(Mark)

I sit at the kitchen counter with Sarah, waiting for her bus to arrive. She gets excited, first day of first grade! Who wouldn't be? Jack's still asleep and I left him alone. Sarah hugs me goodbye as her bus pulls up. I hug her and kiss her head, "Goodbye sweetheart." She grins, "Buh-Bye Dad." She leaves and I watch as the bus pulls away from the house. Jack runs downstairs, tired as hell, "Did I-" He yawns loudly, "Miss her leave?" I nod, "Yeah, sorry." He sighs and frowns. I hug him and kiss his forehead, "I'm the better Dad." He punches me in the chest with little force, "No, you didn't get her a giant stuffed teddy bear for when she comes back from school so ha!" I roll my eyes and take his hand, the one with the ring, and kiss it. He smiles at me. I kiss him and nod to the black coffee on the table, "You're welcome." He grins and grabs it, chugging it down. I watch him, smiling. His hair, still a mess. He's still in boxers but he has my lucky red flannel on..

(Sarah)

I sit in my classroom, unfortunately the bus ride isn't long. A teacher walks in the room and smiles a bright annoying smile. I look around, about twenty something kids.. "So! Everyone, I want to get to know you. We will play the game 'Two truths, one lie.'! Say your name then say one lie and two truths!" She gestures to me, "Please start." I hesitate then stand, "My name is Sarah.. The facts are.. I have two dads, My parents have been married about seven years.. and I'm a social person." The teacher smiles, "Well the obvious lie is that you have two dads!" I shake my head, proud that I stumped the teacher, she looks at me. "You're parents are gay!?" A kid shouts. I nod, smiling, "Yeah." Almost the whole class laughs and I become puzzled. "What's wrong with having gay parents?!" A girl stands up and asks everyone. I look at her, she smiles at me. A kid speaks up to us, "Everything, no parents that are gay love their child!" I gasp, "My dads do love me! Probably more then your parents do!" At this, the teacher stops me, "Sarah, office now!" I roll my eyes and walk out, soon hearing the girl that stood up with me follow after me. She catches up to me, "I'm Bella." I look at her, then at my feet. She nudges me, "Don't listen to them, they are stupid." I nod, "Yeah.." I feel her smile, "So, Sarah-" I look at her, "Why did you stand up for me?"

(Bella)

"You're not used to bullies I'm guessing, I know how to handle them." She starts to go to the office and I stop her, "We can wait to go to the office." She looks at me. Her eyes are really pretty.. I look at her, "The teacher won't do anything." She smiles at me, "Okay. So, Bella was it?" I nod. She grins, "Pretty name." I blush. "You're really nice, thank you for sticking up for me. If you want to leave me be to fight on my own, I'll accept that." I shake my head fast, "No! I want to stick up for you. I think we can make amazing friends." She grins, "I'd love that!" I smile and she hugs me. I hesitate, smiling as I hug her back.

~End of school day~

(Sarah)

I go home and walk into my house. I see my father, Sean, cuddled against Dad, Mark. Father is asleep and Dad grins, holding his arms out, "Hey baby girl! How was your first day of school." I grin, "It was great, I made a new friend, her name is Bella." I hug him and he pulls me into his lap, I look at Father. I frown, "Why is he always sleeping?" Dad shrugs and nudges Father. Father makes a, "Hmm?" noise and looks at me, "Oh hello sweetie!" He hugs me and I smile, hugging back. "Father? Is everything alright?" He looks at me, "Yes! Of course. I didn't get enough sleep so I'm a little sleepy." I nod and kiss his cheek, "Okay." He smiles. "Are you hungry?"  I shake my head, "Not really." He nods.

(Mark)

I get up and Sarah looks at me. I smile as she kisses my forehead. I go to the kitchen and she follows me. I look back at Jack, he frowns a full heart frown and he looks at his hands. I look at Sarah, "Father got you something~" She smiles and runs to Jack. I see his eyes light up and I smile. I get something to drink and I hear a gasp of delight. I smile and walk over, Sarah holds a giant teddy bear up. I see Jack grin as she runs to her room. I sit with him, his grin becomes a smile and I kiss him, "I love you." He rests his head on my shoulder, "I love you, too."

(Jack)

I get up and go to the bathroom. I shut and lock the door, looking at myself in the mirror. I take out my blade and pull my shirt sleeve up to my elbow. I run the water and cut my arms. Ones.. Twice.. Three, four times.. Five- I hear a knock on the door, then Sarah's voice following it, "Daddy I need to use the bathroom!" I answer, "Just a second!" I wash my wrist and put the blade away, pulling my shirt sleeve back down. I let Sarah in then she stops me, "Why is there blood on the sink?" I hesitate then lie, "I had a nose bleed, it's okay." I wash the blood off the sink and I walk back downstairs. Mark looks at me, frowning. I look at him, "What's-" He walks to me and grabs my arm, I wince slightly and he pulls my sleeve up. How did he know..? I don't look at him, he grabs my jaw and makes me look at him. I feel tears burn in my eyes and it makes it worse at his hard, yet sympathetic look. "Why.." I pull the sleeve back over my arm and look down, "I.. don't know.." He pulls my shirt off and I try to pull away but he gasps and his stare stops me. I swallow hard, looking at him.
