PoV: Sonic

  Where am I...

  It's warm...

  It's quiet... .... ... peaceful...

  My body, I couldn't feel it. I felt a float yet I couldn't feel any sensations. My eyes were open yet everything was dark. Slowly a light began to fade into view. Almost like a leaf, I was afloat in a dark pool I couldn't sink through.  Yet, it had no scary aura emitting from it.

  I stood as I saw a figure sitting in the distance. A hedgehog around my size. Their quills were dark, their eyes pale. Long fangs peeked from his upper lip. His nails grown out like claws. The strangest thing I saw was a dark aura around him. It took the shape of dark wings and a narrow tail. The symbol for a demon.

"Hello," I sat down beside him, "Who are you?"

"I'm not... sure yet... Who are you?" He turned to me, his expression was still. Though it hardly changed, he seemed to be curious of me. His tone reminded me of an innocent child.

"My name is Sonic. Are we all alone?" I looked around. Everywhere but around here was dark. We could only see each other on the surface of the water. Our light source was completely unknown.

"You're Sonic?" He knew who I was yet, I'd never met him before.

"You knew about me?" I couldn't see where he would have gotten that information from.

"They call me that a lot," he said.

"They? Who's they?" I followed his gaze into the light. I could faintly see them, Fleetaway and Mephiles.

"Them. They let me grow what I want. They even let me give them the medicines I make but... I don't think that I'm supposed to be here. I don't like being awake. I want to go back under and sleep. I want to sleep forever," he pushed his hands against the water but couldn't dive down, "I want to sleep..."

"They are Fleetaway and Mephiles. They're the demons who took me from my village in exchange for everyone's safety," I pressed my hand against the surface of the water and my hand sank below.

"You can go back?" He reached for my hand, "Are you going to make me stay awake?"

"If I go back I think I..." I pulled my hand out of the water.

"You'll sleep forever... Do you want to stay awake instead?" He was holding something in his other hand. A lotis flower whose stem had gone round in a circle. Its center emitted a calm light from it. He held it up for me, "If you wake up, I'll be able to sleep. You can be with your Fleetaway and Mephiles."

"I'd still be with them..." I wasn't sure if I wanted to go back... No... I'll be able to help the villagers again. I can't abandon them.

"Take it, you'll be awake," he held the flower closer to me.

"Yeah, I'll take it so you can sleep," I took the lotus from him and he hugged me.

"Thank you for letting me sleep," he began to sink below the water while he hugged me, "If need me, just go to sleep for a little..."

  He sank completely below the water. His eyes closed peacefully as he sank lower. Floating gently as he slept peacefully.

"I'll be awake..." I whispered to myself as I held the lotus. The light began to grow as it became blinding. It rapidly came closer to me.

I'll be awake...
