Chapter 14: Assembly Time
Shiniko completely blacked out.
Luckily for her, Karma came in the nick of time. He picked her up and carried her back to his place.
When he got back, he carefully laid Shiniko down on his bed and left to get some supplies.
He took care of all her wounds, but then he came across the cuts on her arm. He knew exactly why they were there after he saw what happened earlier.
After taking care of her, he went to the kitchen and started to make dinner.
Soon, a strong fragrance flooded the room and awoke Shiniko from her unconscious state.
"Ugh... Everything hurts...What happened?..." Shiniko thought as she slowly sat up and hugged her knees close to her chest and looked around, "Where am I?" She whispered to herself.
As if on cue, Karma walked in with a tray of food, "You're in my room, silly. How ya feelin'?" He asked, setting the tray of food on his desk.
"I've been better," Shiniko replied, "What happened?" She asked.
"You don't remember?" He questioned.
"Would I be asking if I did." She stated, with an 'isn't it obvious' look on her face.
"You never change do you? Well, to begin with, I found you getting beat up by a bunch of girls. When I got there you were unconscious, so I carried you here and fixed you up." He explained.
"So you saw, huh?" She questioned quietly, as she looked down.
"Yeah, I did. So, please, don't do that to yourself anymore." He pleaded.
"Sure..." She whispered.
"Good." He smiled and gently patted her head, "Here's some food, eat up."
Shiniko thanked him with a smile, and started to eat the food.
"Delicious as always I see." She complimented.
"It's just something I make daily, nothing special." He said as Shiniko kept eating.
"Thanks for the food, but I should go now." Shiniko thanked him once more and started to get up.
"I'll take you home, who knows what's lurking around in the dark." He offered.
"Sure." She said as she got her things together.

"Thanks for everything today. Have a good evening." Shiniko said as she unlocked the door.
"No big, just take care of yourself." He said and left.
Shiniko went to her room tossed her bag on her desk and took a shower. After that, she did her homework and climbed into bed.
She covered half of her injured figure, she stared at the bandaged areas. All the times the girls had beaten her, she had badly wanted to fight back and snap their necks.
But she couldn't.
It pissed her off, but at the same time she couldn't do anything about it, since it was how the school system worked. That night she silently cried herself to sleep.
The next day, she woke up and did everything as usual and went to school. She was the earliest one, so she went to one of the empty rooms and found and old, dusty guitar. She strummed it once and it was way out of tune, but she fixed it, then started to play and sing a song.
When she finished, she went back to her desk, took out her phone and checked if there were any new assignments. She's been getting a lot from not just Lovro, but many others. She went from trainee, to unpaid assassin, to paid assassin, gettin' all dem moolas.
She looked through some of them and since no one arrived yet, she slept.
She was later awoken by the sounds of camera shatters and many whispers.
She looked up in her sleeping state and saw, well pretty much the whole class taking pictures, but that didn't matter she could just hack into their phones later and delete them later.
Class went on, in chemistry, they learned how to extract the color from processed food.
Before Koro-sensei got to his desk when class started, Shiniko felt a wave of nervousness within the room, but she ignored it.
Shiniko finished while Koro-sensei was demonstrating. So, she deleted all the photos of her sleeping from everyone's phone while eating the rest of her snack 'cause she knew that he was going to take it and save it for later, and that's exactly what happened. Just not to her, since all her snacks were gone, then she got scolded about how she shouldn't be eating in the chemistry lab.
When class was finished, Okuda walked to the front of the class. Shiniko saw three vials of what seemed to be poison. All eyes were on her as she presented the poisons, and asked Koro-sensei to drink them. It was a really straight forward assassination attempt, but he accepted.
After drinking the first vial, he grunted and started to pulse slight after images of himself. Then his head turned blue with spikes at the back of his head and two little nubs on top.
He looked a bit like Sonic the Hedgehog to be honest.
He drank the second vial. The same thing happened, but this time he turned green with wings on the side of his head. On top of his head were two weird 'Y' shaped antennas and a long crest reaching to the back of his head.
He drank the final potion. He turned grey and didn't have his usual big smile. Instead, it was a small simple line.
In the end, Koro-sensei offered to help Okuda make a stronger poison. Shiniko could tell that it was a trap because it was part of an assassin's job to trick their victims.
While everyone was outside playing, Shiniko was inside trying to install a few ACs to cool down the place since it was a toaster oven in there.
After school, Okuda and Koro-sensei stayed after school to make a stronger poison. As Shiniko was walking home, she was listening to the conversation between the two of them. It wasn't that interesting, to be honest.
When she got to her destination, she finished her homework, made a snack and looked through some of her target's profile she received. She checked the time and decided to finish two assassinations in one night.
The assassinations were quick and hardly messy. She came home, showered, went to bed.
The next day, Okuda brought the poison Koro-sensei had her make. When class started, she gave it to him, and he drank it. The result of that potion, was him turning into a silver blob that can fit into anything without losing speed.
"You tricked me! That's not fair!" Okuda shouted as Koro-sensei went into a corner.
"Hmm... Fair? Verbal deception is a vital part of the successful assassin's toolkit." Koro-sensei said.
"Yes, yes, it is all too true," Shiniko thought as Nagisa asked a question.
"Approaching the target so naively is a good way to fail in you mission. Even the deadliest of poisons is useless if one can't persuade the mark to drink it." Koro-sensei explained. "Nagisa. Say you wanted to poison me. How might you go about it?" He asked.
"Huh? Well, lemme think. I'd probably put it in something you liked. Then I guess I would offer it to you as a gift." Nagisa answered.
"Not bad," Shiniko thought as she tried to get comfortable in her seat.
"You see, to deceive someone you have to get inside their heads; know what they respond to. Use language creatively," Koro-sensei said as he went back into his regular state, "In poisoning, as in life, the key to success is communication. Imagine that one day, you make an Earth-shattering scientific discovery. How can it benefit mankind if it stays locked inside your head? Knowing the right thing to say can make all the difference, right?" He questioned.
Okuda smiled before thanking Koro-sensei.
Karma laughed, "Nice move, Teach. Turn the tables, huh? No kidding."
During lunch, when everyone started making their way down the mountain, Shiniko gave Koro-sensei one of the handout sheets that gets passed around and she explained to him how E Class never gets any. Before leaving she saw Karma sitting outside listening to music.
"Skipping the assembly?" Shiniko asked after tapping his shoulder.
"Yup." He answered.
Shiniko went inside to get something out of her desk and returned.
"Here, you can watch the class try to get down to the main campus, I'm sure it'll be...entertaining." She said with a slight grin, handing him her laptop.
"Sure." He took the laptop and opened it.
Shiniko went through the areas where the cameras weren't and started to jump from tree to tree down the mountain. When she got down, no one was there, so she rewarded herself with some ice cream. A few minutes later, the whole class had arrived, they were exhausted. Shiniko quickly got to her feet and put ice cream away before approaching the class.
"What took you guys so long?" she asked.
The whole class stared at her for a second, "How did you get here so fast, and why aren't you tired?!" they all shouted.
"That's a secret." She answered.
"Ughhh..." The class groaned while catching their breath.
They all went into the gymnasium, except Shiniko.
"Aren't you coming, Shiniko?" Isogai asked.
Shiniko replied with, "I'll be there in a sec." Then started to walk towards Irina.
"Alright," Isogai said and walked inside.
"Grab on," She held out her hand and Irina grabbed it.
"Thanks," she said as she got up and fixed herself up a bit.
When Irina walked in all eyes were on her, but Shiniko still sneaked in so no one would notice her being late.
Once Irina stood next to Karasuma, they talked for a while before Irina walked over to Nagisa. She was asking him something about the octopus, then she forced Nagisa's face in between her overly large busts.
After the commotion died down, one of Shiniko's friends, Teppei Araki took over the assembly.
"Okay. All the upcoming student council events are detailed in the handouts you've just been given." He stated.
As always E Class didn't get any.
"Huh, I'm so sorry. I thought for sure we printed enough for everyone! Guess E Class will just have to memorize it off their neighbours'." The other classes just laughed. "That works out for the best, really. I mean, you people could use the mental exercise I'm guessing." He continued to tease E Class.
Within a few seconds, copies of the handouts were in front of the students. Koro-sensei made it just in time.
"You what?! But, I- How did you-? Okay, who's the wise guy? Who killed our fun?" He started to lose his temper.
Shiniko glared at him from the where she was, and he continued talking. Koro-sensei was standing with the other teachers, Irina tried to hit him, but Karasuma just dragged her away. The whole class laughed, while the other classes just stared at them with confusion and curiosity all over their face.
After the assembly, Shiniko went to get a drink. Not long after, Nagisa showed up to get something as well.
"Hey Shiniko," He said as he walked over.
"Hey." Shiniko replied as she got her drink out.
"How do you think Koro-sensei got the handouts for us?" He questioned as he chose his drink.
"Simple, I gave him a copy." She answered.
"How did you get one?" He questioned again.
"It's a secret." Shiniko just said bluntly.
"Oh...ok.." He said sheepishly as he went to get his drink.
"Yo, Nagisa." One of Nagisa's old classmates got his attention.
Both Nagisa and Shiniko turned to them, the two guys stared at Shiniko for a while until one of them whispered something to the other.
"Shiniko, how's E Class? Feeling at home yet?" One of them teased.
Shiniko looked down and walked behind Nagisa.
"You proud of yourselves?" He continued.
"Acting like you're havin' the time of your lives? Laughing during assembly. Not cool. You bums ever hear of respect?" Said the other.
"If I was in E Class, I'd keep my head down and my mouth shut." The first one said.
The second guy continued, "Yeah, and I sure as hell wouldn't have a reason to laugh."
"Watch it with that look, I'm warnin' ya." The first student warned.
At this point, all the remaining students were watching this go down.
"Something you wanna say, scumbag? You want me to kill your ass?!" The second student shouted and grabbed Nagisa by the collar of his shirt with an uneasy face.
Nagisa was silent for a while, Shiniko stood beside him.
Nagisa looked down and chuckled, "Like you've got the balls to try." He looked up and his eyes looked threatening. "Go right ahead."
Shiniko did the same, only hers was twice as threatening.
The student let go of Nagisa, they were both scared. Nagisa started to walk away, Shiniko following behind. She knew there was a camera that captured the scene that just happened, but she didn't care. When they were about to walk back up the mountain, Shiniko went the other way. Nagisa didn't noticed her dissapearence.
When she got to the top, Nagisa wasn't even there yet. She didn't see Karma outside, so she went inside to look for him. And there he was in class still watching the laptop.
"Did you enjoy the comedy film?" Shiniko asked as she walked towards him.
He nodded.
"Good." She stated and took her laptop back and class went on as if nothing happened.
~Time Skip~
School's over now, so Shiniko went to the school to help clean up. At the end of the day, some of the kids would still be there sine there parents worked late, so she looked after them.
After she finished tidying up the place, she went home and just relaxed for a while before going out to do her job.
When she came back in the dead of night, she made sure to be very quiet and carefully made it back into her room. She took a shower and got ready for bed.
