Kanan's POV:

It's the present day. I honestly just wanted to reflect on everything that happened between Yoshio and I. 

When I attempted to visit him, I overheard him confessing his feelings to a girl. My heart broke in two as I was looking forward to spending the rest of my life with him.

I had always imagined that after graduation, I would go visit and we would rekindle our relationship. Then one thing would lead to another and he would propose. We'd create a new diving business, just the two of us.

Pretty crazy right? 

It had been three more years since the last time I saw him. I decided the best thing to do was move with my friends Mari and Dia to America. At least then I would be out of the country. 

It did seem like I was running away, but I told myself I was just moving on. I'm living a great life over here actually. 

Mari and Dia both knew that I was pretty down in the dumps. So they tried their best to introduce me to other guys. I was on countless blind dates and don't get me wrong, they were all nice guys. 

But I still couldn't get over him. 

We were like the sun and moon. Close enough to be paired together, but too far apart to be with each other at the same time. 

It was time to move on.

Except... I have a secret. One that I never told Mari, Dia, my parents, nobody. Not even Yoshio.

A secret that one day if I hear a guy's voice saying, "I finally found you." I would marry that man. No matter what.

And so I left a page blank. Wondering if one day I would hear those words. One last possible chapter. For maybe a happy ending. 

It was a secret.

A secret between you and I...

Yoshio's POV:

It's the present day. I waited patiently for Kanan's visit. But it never came. She stopped sending me letters as well. I didn't really know what to think of it. 

Was it something I did? Couldn't be... I literally never saw her. 

So I took matters into my own hands. If she wasn't going to visit me, I was going to visit her. And I would propose to her.

She was the only girl I would ever fall for. 

As I traveled back to my home town I reflected on our past relationship. She and I were always paired together. Inseparable. 

And when I saw her again, everything would return to normal.

I knocked on the door with my heart in my hand. As the door opened I was shocked to see a different family living there. 

They had moved away. And Kanan never told me the new address. 

"D-d-do you know where the Matsuura family moved to?" I asked the new family.

"I'm sorry, we don't know."

But I wasn't going to give up easily. I was going to look for her. I was going to find her. Even if it meant I had to search across the entire planet. 

Traveling from town to town I asked locals, looked at phone books, searching for any possible clue I could find. 

After three long years, I stumbled across a quiet town, even smaller than the one I moved to, isolated by the ocean.

It had to be here.

Making my way through the town I spotted a house by the sea. With a large sign that read: 

Matsuura Diving.

My walk became a run. My run became a sprint. My sprint became whatever is faster than a sprint. 

It didn't matter. I had waited for this moment for a long time now. 

So for the second time, I knocked expectantly at the front door. 

Her mother answered. She looked at me for a few seconds, but then she realized who I was. Tears suddenly began to form in her eyes as she hugged me. 

I asked her where Kanan was.

"America." she replied.

I was on the next flight to the United States.

Using the information I got from her parents, I easily tracked down the city they lived in. The only problem was, this city was huge. Like seriously huge.

As in, I literally searched for two weeks and wasn't even through half of the city. 

But I couldn't give up. You see... I have a secret. I didn't tell my parents, I didn't tell her parents, and I definitely did not tell Kanan this. 

A secret that one day I would see her smile again. No matter how long it took. Hoping that maybe there was one last chapter waiting to be written about us. 

It was a secret.

A secret between you and I...

And so I continued to look. Hoping that we would receive our happy ending. 

I trudged into a cafe, getting ready to give up my search for the day. It was fairly crowded, but I found a seat and placed my order. 

The days were getting colder, couldn't these girls have picked a better city to live in? 

The bells on the door jingled, indicating there was a customer.

When I looked up, I realized just who it was. The smile was still the same. From the time we were kids till now.

 The days that I searched soon seemed like mere seconds. The miles I traveled soon seemed like steps. The long wait seemed to have never happened for me. 

Because...

"I finally found you."
