Relief
(A/n)
Just a second warning that this chapter may contain a touchy subject for some people. I'm approaching it carefully as that's how it will be approached in the scene so I don't think it'll be jarring for anyone, but maybe relatable for some. I'll add a little blurb at the end of this about how it's relatable for me as it's not exactly the same.
"Did you kill your ex?" Wire asked a little too seriously.
"No." You giggled. "No I didn't kill anyone."
"You've gone to jail for something."
"Nope."
"Youuuu aren't really a Charlotte."
"Drivers license says otherwise." You couldn't help but laugh more. It was cute how much he wanted to guess it.
"Okay, I give up, what is it?" He nuzzled along the mark he left on your neck, brushing his lips against it gently and occasionally flicking his tongue out to wet it again.
"Hold on tiger." You grabbed his face and made him look back at you. "You gotta pay attention, this is important."
"Okay." All traces of playfulness left his face as he let you back him into a tree.
You traced along his muscles as you gathered your thoughts. It was important to get this figured out before you started talking.
"My family likes to say there's nothing more important than family and that somehow translates into this weird obsession for there to be a lot of us. I've got a lot of siblings and more than a handful of nieces and nephews. My mom expects every one of her kids that gets married to have kids too."
"It's a little early to be suggesting kids isn't it?" Wire asked.
"No, well, yes." You frowned. "I need to know if you ever want them, your own kids."
"It's too early for me to think about that. We're still young (Y/n) and trying to get our own lives together. What's all this about?"
"I–" You couldn't meet his gaze as you steadied yourself and spoke again. "I won't ever be able to have kids. Ever. If that's something you decide you want in the future, I can't give it to you."
"You're infertile."
"Yeah."
And it hurt. You were supposed to be a woman. You'd thought about having kids before, maybe even wanted them to some extent. But knowing you couldn't do what most other women could, that hurt. You had all the right parts but none of them worked. The day you learned, you cried harder than you ever had. And at first it wasn't even about how much your own mother would hate you for it. It was simply because you felt like an important part of you was missing.
It was after that you realized how badly the news would be handled by the rest of your family. Your mother would never want to look at you again. Your sisters would treat you like damaged goods. Your brothers would radiate disappointment. You wouldn't be disowned but you'd be the black sheep of the family in the worst kind of way.
You could put up with your ex. You couldn't put up with how much worse things would have been if you stayed. What other choice did you have? Packing up and leaving just worked better. Disappointment would be worse than the anger they felt now. You could handle their anger.
"It is what it is." Wire pulled you in for a hug, squeezing you gently. "It doesn't change how I feel about you and if we reach a point in the future when you want kids with me, we can look into other options. But this doesn't define you, so don't let it."
"You're being super cool about this." You mumbled into his chest. He was built like a Greek god and you loved it.
"Cool huh?" He chuckled and rubbed your back.
"My family would have raised hell over this."
"They're a bunch of controlling bitches that need to learn to leave other people alone."
"Preach it."
"So just a suggestion, but how about we go back and get shit faced with the others? I feel like they're going to drink all the alcohol."
"There's no way they could drink all that. Killer brought enough to start up a liquor store of his own."
"You'd be surprised."
"Okay." You pulled away, not really wanting to leave his warmth but the alcohol was calling your name. This had been stressful. "Let's go before there's nothing left to drink."
You walked back together holding hands. Wire even let you swing his arm back and forth without a single complaint. And as it sunk in that you'd finally told someone the secret that'd been eating away at you, you felt like a weight had lifted off your chest. No one was perfect but you felt even less so with your problem. It was nice knowing at least one person didn't think it was a big deal. It was hard enough living with it yourself, you didn't need other people giving you grief about it.
When you got back, the guys were indeed very far into the alcohol they'd brought along. They thought it'd be funny to give you two a drunken standing ovation when they saw your marked neck and interlaced fingers. Kid almost fell into the fire but you saved him before he added burn scars to the mix. The others found it funny.
You and Wire joined in on the drinking once you made sure no one was going to try falling into the fire again. When you had a good buzz going on, Killer decided everyone needed snacks and that worked for you. Food sounded great.
It was a good thing there weren't any other people around camping like you guys. The more you drank and the further it got into the night, the louder you all got. Drinking games were made up on the spot and played, marshmallows were roasted, and life was good. You couldn't wait for another outing with the guys and this one wasn't even over.
When Heat had to stumble away to throw up, everyone decided it was time to call it a night. The guys were drunk enough to convince themselves that you and Wire should sleep in the truck bed in case you decided to get frisky while they piled in your car. Heat took the front seat, reclining it back as far as he could, while Kid and Killer stumbled to the trunk together. You bet they'd wake up hating each other.
Wire joined you in the bed of the truck. With the tailgate down, there was just enough room for him to fully stretch out.
"Y'know, despite the neighbors, I like Aufork." You whispered, as if the others could actually hear you from across the clearing. One of them had music going on a phone for "just in case." They really didn't want to hear you two.
"It's not a bad little town." Wire agreed. He twisted to his side and reached under the blanket covering both of you to pull you closer.
"I'd like to stay."
"You can do that."
He smirked and kissed you, much more gently than before. He was taking his time, tasting the alcohol on your tongue. His hand brushed stray hairs out of your face and played along your jawline.
"You taste like jäger." You giggled.
The comment was met with delightful chuckles against your lips. Next thing you knew he was traveling down to your neck, nipping at it and eliciting whines and sighs from you.
"Wire we can't do this with the guys right over there."
"I know." He whispered huskily against your ear. "But I can take care of you at least, if you want."
"That'd hardly be fair." You met his eyes to see the beginnings of lust in them.
"It won't hurt me to wait a little. If anything, it'll make it all the more exciting when I get to have you." His hand traveled along your arm but he didn't get too touchy, waiting for your okay.
"I couldn't make you do that."
"You aren't. I'm offering." He gave you a chaste kiss, almost teasing you.
"For someone not wanting a relationship for so long, you sure are willing to hop right to it."
"In all honesty, I thought you were someone I'd like to fuck in a heartbeat the second I saw you."
"What a way with words." You tugged him down so you could press your lips to his. "And I guess if you're offering...."
He took that as his okay and immediately slipped a hand up your shirt, feeling along your belly and further up to your breasts. He went to work kneading one as he went back to nipping at your neck, adding more marks to the first one. You'd have to work hard to cover them for your job but that was something you could think about later.
The heavy metal music playing in the background did a great job of covering the sounds of your small, airy moans. Wire was delicate when he needed to be and added just enough force from time to time to keep you on edge. He'd pinch your skin between his teeth or squeeze your breast just a bit harder.
When he had reduced you to a panting, squirming mess, he moved down to the hem of your pants and undid them. Your insides clenched in anticipation and you only got more excited as he pushed them past your hips and helped you wiggle out of them. In reality, they could have stayed on but sleeping in jeans didn't sound all that comfortable and you were planning on taking them off later. It's not like there wasn't a blanket covering you or like the guys hadn't already seen your panties. You'd gotten a nice eyeful of all their boxers anyway. There was nothing to be shy about.
As soon as you were free of your jeans, Wire ran his fingers along your panties and over your womanhood. You almost shuddered at the sensation but settled to just arch your back and push your head down into the pillows. It felt too good to not react. You closed your eyes and felt lips on yours, his tongue pushing into your mouth right as he moved the fabric away and slid a single finger along your wet folds.
You let out a full moan into the kiss and he immediately began shushing you.
"They'll still hear if you get too loud." He murmured and pressed his free hand over your mouth to muffle you. That freed him up to nip along the shell of your ear, his breath tickling you and sending goosebumps up and down your skin. It did nothing to help you quiet down.
His finger pushed into your core while he started rubbing along your clit with his thumb. The hand over your mouth didn't do much to quiet down the noise but you were really doing your best. Wire obviously knew what he was doing. He stroked along your inner walls like he'd done it a thousand times and you were almost sure he could do it in his sleep.
And he was enjoying it all. You could feel the hot puffs of air he let out, almost in heavy pants. His body was flush with yours and his member strained against his jeans, rubbing along your thigh. It was a shame he couldn't take you tonight, you were itching to finally give yourself up to him.
Your body jerked into his when he found just the right spot and attacked it mercilessly. You fumbled to hold on to anything and found the hem of his jeans. Wire let out a low rumble as you held on to him, shaking and on the verge of your peak. He pulled you in for one last kiss, gripping your face tightly as you came around his fingers.
Your moans were swallowed up and he didn't stop touching you until you had to push his hand away from the overstimulation. He licked his fingers clean, staring you down with a smirk the entire time.
"Why couldn't we have sex tonight again?" You asked breathlessly.
"We'd be too loud first of all." He glanced over in the direction of your friends. "And we'll need to talk about what you're comfortable with before we do that."
"Why don't you just tell me what you want to do?"
"Because I don't want to scare you away. I'd rather see what you think you can handle and go from there."
"You still think it won't work." You curled up into him, nuzzling against his neck. He smelled faintly like the bonfire that had been extinguished a short while ago.
"I'd like it to but it wouldn't be a first if you decided it was too much for you."
You felt along his chest and pressed your lips gently to his throat. He was comfortably warm and it had nothing to do with the blanket covering both of you.
"I think we'll be fine."
Wire hummed in response. He was still worried but he wouldn't voice it. You wanted to reassure him but there wasn't anything you could do until the time came to prove it one way or the other. But you were sure everything would work out.
----
"Did you guys actually fuck for real?"
"Hmm?" You woke up in a daze to the sounds of birds chirping and sunlight warming your face. Wire was half laying on you, his head tucked under your chin and an arm wrapped around your waist. He was still fast asleep, chest rising and falling steadily against you.
Kid stood beside the truck, holding up your previously discarded jeans by a belt loop gingerly.
"No, we didn't fuck for real." You answered with a grimace. Your head was killing you. Too much alcohol.
"Well put your damn pants on. Killer's making breakfast and then we're all going on a walk."
"M'kay." You mumbled, running a hand through Wire's hair. The short locks were very soft to the touch. You couldn't help but notice the poor man was already beginning to get a bit of a receding hairline too.
Kid tossed your pants over the lip of the truck bed and walked off to the low chatter of the others. You could hear a fire going and smell the unmistakable aroma of bacon. Killer must have put breakfast foods in one of those coolers they brought along.
"Wire~" You cooed, running your fingers along his face. First his jaw and to his visible sideburn. Then over his brow until he began groaning and burrowing into your chest. "Killer's making breakfast."
He squeezed you and lifted his head with a sigh, meeting your gaze with his still sleepy one. "Breakfast?"
"Mhmm."
"Ohhhh fuck." He winced, closing his eyes and frowning. "I hope it's something greasy."
You laughed. "Why's that?"
"Nothing cures a hangover like grease."
You hoped that was true. This headache was killing you. You snagged your jeans and sat up. "Kid says we're going on a walk too."
"Sounds like a good start to the morning." Wire slid out of the truck bed and stood up stiffly. He stretched, grinning as he made sure to give you a good view of his muscles coiling along his stomach.
"Yeah it does." You continued to eye his body shamelessly. If he was putting on a show it'd be rude to look away.
"Get your asses over here before we eat everything!" Kid yelled.
"Nooooooo." You shimmied into your pants as fast as humanly possible and stumbled out of the truck, searching for your shoes. There was no way you'd miss out on bacon first thing in the morning.

Okay, so a little extra info here. Infertility usually isn't so cut and dry. From what I know, it usually goes one of two ways, either your body isn't functioning normally and needs something to help it do so, or some parts are misshapen/malformed and make getting pregnant and being pregnant a risk. There's options to take care of both, whether it's through meds, in vitro, surrogates, etc. I personally have issues with my body not functioning as it needs to and it's a real process trying to get things to be normal. It effects a lot more than just getting pregnant but that's a whole other spiel. So yeah, this is hella relatable for me and parts of this chapter do involve a bit of personal experience.
If anyone is curious about this stuff, do a bit of research. I'm also an open book and give zero fucks about talking about it so questions are welcome as well. Infertility is hardly talked about and I've noticed that leads to a lot of people saying/doing insensitive things and not fully understanding what it means for those effected by it. It's important to stay educated~
