The night came and Danny hadn't called Jessica.  It was extremely unusual for him not to call by now.

Jessica began to worry.  She thought he may be upset about her response to him, but then she thought, What if somethings wrong?

She couldn't get him off her mind, so she sent him a text.

*Hey.  Did you make it home safely?*

*Yes.  What's up?*

*Up with Grayson.*

*Is he okay?*

*Yeah, he's just wide awake.*

*This late?*

*Yeah, I don't know what's gotten into him.*

*Phone rings*

"Hey.." Jessica answers softly.

"Hi.

Jess?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm sorry about earlier."

"It's fine."

"I guess it's just.. Well I really love you and I want to be with you as much as I can... Living together only feels right."

"I know that, Danny, and I think it sounds nice too.  I just don't know how this would work out."

"Okay.. It's okay.  We have time to figure that out.. One day.. I don't know where, but we'll live together.  Jessica, I love you so so much, and I know deep down in my heart one day I will make you my bride."

"Danny!  Oh my gosh, this is all too much, now you're talking about marriage?"

"I mean not now! But yeah! You don't want to get married?"

"Uh!" Jessica was speechless. She just sat there with wide eyes and her jaw dropped.

"Jess?"

"Daniel, I'm sorry, but I don't want to get remarried."

"What?"

"I don't want to get married again. I promised to only be married to one man, and that's Sam... I love you, but I can't marry you."

"Jessica." Danny pauses. His voice sounded like he was in shock.

"But I love you."

"And I love you, but it's not gonna change the way I feel."

"Wow.." Danny's voice was low and disappointed.

"Okay.. Well I guess I understand. You have a good night and um.. Tell Gray to get to sleep. I'll talk to you later. Jess."

"Danny wait!"

"Goodnight."

"Danny!" Jessica raises her voice, but he had already hung up.

"Ugh!!

This is how I feel, Grayson. How is the way I feel a bad thing?" Jessica looks at him with sad eyes, as he looks up to her like he's really listening.

"I was married to your daddy.. I promised to only be married to your daddy..

It's stupid but... Grayson, what if I marry Danny.. What if we live together in this big house, and raise you together like a real family.. What if we're all happy.. And what if it all gets taken away again? Gray, I can't lose another husband, I can't!" Jessica nods as she starts to cry.

"That was the most horrible thing that has ever happened to me.. and if I was to marry Danny and something--" Jessica stops and lets out a sob.

"I couldn't bare it if it were to happen again!

Maybe if we're just dating... Then maybe it'll be okay.. God, I know that's stupid but.. *Sighs* that's how I feel."

Jessica looks at Grayson and lets out a small chuckle.

"You're really listening to me, aren't you?"

Grayson smiles and nods with his bottle hanging from his mouth.

"Heh! What do you think I should do?"

"DANNYYYYY!" He lifts his hands in the air.

Jessica laughs and says, "Oh you're team Danny on this one, aren't you?"

The twins 19th birthday.

Things have been different between Danny and Jessica the past of couple days.

They haven't seen each other since their lunch date, but Danny has called everyday to see how everyone is doing. Jessica has been kinda quiet with him and neither one has brought up what happened a couple nights ago.

"Happy Birthday, babies! Oh my baby boys are nineteen!" Jessica hugs and kisses them both.

"Seems like just yesterday I was screaming and crying on that bed.. Then you came out and I saw those beautiful faces! I was never happier! I am so proud to be your mama!" She says with teary eyes.

"Awe ma! That you for that." Sam smiles and nudges her arm.

"For birthing you? You're welcome!" Jessica laughs.

James looks at Sam and chuckles.

"So, are we still on for dinner tonight?" He smiles.

"Of course!  Danny and Zach are meeting us there at seven."

"Great!"

7:00.

James picked his girlfriend up and Sam drove with Jessica to the restaurant.

Jessica and the three boys arrived first and were seated.

"Oh there's James and Caroline." Michael points.

"Hi Caroline!" Jessica stands up and hugs her.

"Hello Mrs. Shepard!  Thank you for letting me join you all."

"Oh Caroline you're family!"

"Awe, well thank you!"

Some time passes and James asks, "Ma, where's Danny?  It's seven thirty already."

"I don't know.  I texted him, but he didn't answer." Jessica says looking at her phone.

"Let me try calling him.  Excuse me." She says getting up from the table.

"Mama!" Grayson reaches for her and pouts.

"Your mama will be right back, Grayson." Caroline smiles and softly caresses his cheek.

Grayson smiles and holds his arms out for her.

"Up!"

"You're such a cutie!" Caroline giggles taking him out of the highchair.

"Come on Danny.  Pick up, Pick up!" Jessica mumbles.

She gets his voicemail and sighs before she radials his number.

It goes straight to voicemail and she huffs.

"Daniel, I don't know if you're upset about the other day, but you promised the boys you would be here!  At least call and give me an excuse, don't just ignore us."

Jessica hung up and walked with anger back to her seat.

"Everything okay, mom?" Sam asks.

"He didn't answer." She says looking down.

"Mikey, why don't you text Zach?" James asks.

"No!  If there not here, then let's just forget it.  Let's just forget about them and have fun." Jessica smiles.

"Mom, what's going on?" James asks.

"Nothing!" Jessica says in an irritated tone.

*Phone rings*

"Hm!  It's him.

Hello Daniel." She answers.

"Jessica?" A woman says.

"Uh, who is this?"

"This is Daniel's sister.  I heard your message so I figured I'd call."

"Is everything alright?" Jessica begins to worry.

"... Um.. Danny and Zachary have been in an accident."

"What?" Jessica's heart begins to race, and she starts breathing heavier.
