New Year's Eve.

With just four days away till her baby boy says I do, Jessica was a little on the emotional side.  The fact that they had to take out her dress last minute didn't help either.

"James, you treat that girl right, okay?  Your father and I raised the best boys ever and I want you to make him proud... I can't believe you're getting married." Jessica looks into his eyes and places her palm on his cheek.

"I can't believe you're having another baby!" He chuckles and poke her stomach.

She laughs and looks down.
"But seriously, James.  Make wise decisions.. and never ever stop chasing your dreams." Jessica smiles softly.

"I love you, baby."

"I love you too, mom."

That night it was just the three of them at home.
Jessica didn't mind it.  She'd rather stay in anyway.

"Who's gonna help daddy make some homemade pizza?"

"Grayson is!" Grayson jumps with excitement.

"Yay!"

"I can cook too, daddy!"

"Very impressive!  Let's get started!"

Jessica walked into the kitchen and saw Grayson standing on his little stool helping Danny roll out the pizza dough.

"Look at my boys!"

"I'm helping daddy make pizza, mommy!"

"I see that!  You seem to be doing very well, Gray!"

"I am!  I'm SO good!"

Jessica laughs and touches her stomach.

"Hey Grayson, your sister's moving!  You wanna see if you can feel?"

"Yeah!" Grayson jumps down and falls on the ground.

"Oh careful, honey!"

"Let me feel!  Let me feel!" He runs to her.

Jessica chuckles and gets to his level.

"I don't feel nothin!"

"Well cause she's not over there, silly!"

"Where she is?!"

"Right here!" Jessica laughs and places his hand on the other side of her stomach.

"She's still little, so it's not that strong yet, but you might be able to feel a little kick."

Grayson smiles in complete silence.

"I felt it, mommy!  I felt my baby sister!"

"That's so awesome, baby!  It feels kinda funny, huh?"

"Yeah, how her move in there like that?"

"She's just a wiggle worm!  She just likes kicking mama, I guess." Jessica giggles.

"Right now she has lots of room so she's just in there wiggling around, and when she gets bigger.. Well she'll still move round like she has a whole bunch of space, but she won't! *Laughs* Then you'll be able to not only feel her a lot more, you'll be able to see her move too!"

"Woah!  I can't wait to play with her!" He smiles.

"You're gonna have a lot of fun together, huh?"

"Yeah, she's gonna be my best friend."

"Awe baby!" Jessica smiles and hugs him.

Once the pizza was finished, they sat on the couch and ate just the three of them.

"Mm!  Grayson, you sure do make some good pizza!"

"Thanks!  My Daddy helped me!"

"Well you have a very talented daddy." Jessica smiles.

"Yeah.  Mama, what are we gonna name the baby?"

"I don't know, I haven't really thought of names yet.  Do you have any in mind?"

"Nope!" He says stuffing his mouth.

"Grayson, don't stuff your mouth, you're gonna choke."

"It's so good though, momma!!"

Midnight.

Grayson was still up and jumping around, and Danny and Jessica were ready for bed.

"Come give momma kiss, Gray!"

Grayson kisses her, then climbs between her and Danny.

"Happy New Year, baby." Danny kisses her lips.

"Happy New year!"

"Last year I told you that it would be our year for a baby, didn't I?"

"Oh that's right, you did." Jessica smiles.

"Yep, and we made it happen, didn't we?"

"We did." She nods.

"And this year we'll meet our baby girl.  She is the most loved little baby ever!  We worked so hard for her.. YOU worked hard for her.  She was also kinda a surprise after all that, huh?"

"Yeah, that's true.  The sweetest little surprise." Jessica smiles softly and gently pats her belly.

January 3rd.

Everyone dressed up for the rehearsal dinner.  Jessica wore a navy blue dress that hugged her body perfectly.

"Look at you!  You're the sexiest mother of the groom I've ever seen."

Jessica smiles and turns to him.

"I don't look like a mother of the groom."

"Well you definitely look like a mother." He says rubbing her bump.

Jessica laughs and hits his chest.

"You really do look beautiful." Danny softly caresses her cheek.

"Thank you.."  She looks down.

"Don't be sad.  This is a happy time!"

"My baby's leaving me!" Her voice goes high and her eyes fill with tears.

"He's gonna be living with us for a while, babe." Danny laughs.

"No!  I don't mean that!  He's gonna be a husband.. His wife is the most important woman in his life now.."

"Baby, I know him and I know that you'll always be his number one girl.  You and your boys have such a strong bond.  Your baby is not going anywhere."

Jessica slowly looks up and Danny wipes her cheeks.

"Don't cry." He kisses her lips and gives her a hug.

That night was the last night before one of her boys was married.
Caroline stayed with her parents, and they both had one last night at home surrounded by siblings and parents.

After dinner the boys spent the night playing video games like they always do.

Jessica watched them and thought back to when they were younger.
She and Sam broke up so many fights but then five minutes later they'd be best friends again.
Seeing Grayson and Zachary with them made her heart so happy.

She went to the living room where Danny was watching tv, and cuddled up next to him.

"How's it going, pretty girl?"

"Good." She speaks softly.
"Whatcha watching?"

"Die Hard."

"I don't like this movie."

"Have you ever seen it?"

"No."

"Well how do you know you don't like it?" Danny chuckles.

"I just do.."

"You can watch whatever you want."

"No, that's fine.  I'm sleepy.." She yawns.

"You wanna go up to bed?"

"No."

"Okay.  We can stay here." Danny kisses her head.

Danny went into a long conversation, and when he was finished Jessica stayed silent.

"Jess?"

"..."

Danny looks down and sees her in a deep sleep.
He smiles and kisses the top of her head before continuing his movie in peace.

The next morning Jessica woke up and made a big breakfast for everyone.

"Awe mom, you didn't have to do this!"

"I wanted to.  There's eggs, bacon, biscuits, pancakes, waffles.  There's a little bit of everything!  You know what I always say.. You need a happy tummy before you say I do." She smiles and tries hard to hold her tears back as she twirls the string from her apron around her finger.

"Awe momma, don't cry!" James walks closer to her.

Her lips quiver and she can't hold it back any longer.

He wraps his arms around her and she holds him tight never wanting to let go.

"I love you, baby.  I'm so happy for you, this is just.. Well obviously it's going to be an emotional day for me.  But I'm proud of you.. and I know your daddy.. I know that he is beyond proud." Jessica cries harder but tries to keep it quiet.

A big part of Jessica's sadness was that Sam was there.  His own father wouldn't be there to see him marrying the girl of his dreams. 

"It's okay, mom.  He's still here.  He'll be there with us."

Jessica covers her face and James holds her right.

***

"Wow." Danny smiles.

"You look absolutely gorgeous."

"Thank you." Jessica smiles.

"How's little love bug doing?"

"She's good." Jessica looks down to her stomach and giggles.

"Yeah?  Are you ready for your first ever wedding?!  Your big brother is getting married!  That's crazy since you're just a little fetus!" He chuckles.

Jessica laughs and James knocks on their door.

"Come in."

He walks in and smiles at his mother.
"Mom.. You look beautiful!"

"And you look so handsome!  Wow... I make some handsome little guys, don't?" She laughs and fixes his collar.

"I have something for you." She walks over to her nightstand and grabs a letter.

"From dad?"

"Of course." She smiles.

"Thank you."

"No problem. I love you."

"I love you too."

When they get to the church all the groomsmen and danny go to their side, and the bridesmaids go to their side.

James went over to Sam who had been sipping on some drinks that we're in the back.

"Hey.. I just wanna say, thanks for being my best man. No one on this earth has a stronger bond than us.. I love you."

"I love you too." Sam smiles and hugs him.

James was shocked when Sam started crying.

"Dude, it's okay!" James chuckles.

"No. *Nods* It's just a lot is on my mind right now.. I need to talk to mom. I've held this in for so long and I have to talk to her."

"What is it?"

"I.. I can't even say it."

"Sam, I'm sure it's not that bad, now what is it?"

"I got some girl pregnant."

"What?" His eyes widen.

"Some girl? You don't even know who she is?"

"I-I met her at a party back in August.. She called me about a little over a month ago and told me. Dude, how does she even know if the baby's mine?"

"Sam! Oh my gosh!"

"I know! I don't know what to do. I don't even have a job."

"You are stealing my thunder!"

"What?"

"You better not tell mom, THIS IS MY DAY!"

"James, relax. It's not like you're the bride."

"I DON'T CARE!  Sam, you can't tell her right now!
Plus, she's gonna stress, she can't be stressed right now with the baby.  The baby, Oh My God!" James' eyes widen and he covers his mouth.

"I know!  Mom's gonna be a pregnant grandma!  Our sister will be born an aunt!  That's kinda fucked up, right?"

"Sam... Just.  Just wait, okay?  You have to find the right time to talk to her about this.  You can't just tell her about this now!"

"Okay.. Yeah, you're right.  I need another drink."

"No you do not!" James stops him.

"You can drink later.  You can worry and be a dad later.  It may sound selfish, but I need my brother here.  We lost dad.  He's not here for this.  I need you.  ALL of you.... Please."

"Alright." Sam nods.

"I'm here." His voice shakes.

"Thank you."

When should he tell Jessica?

I really want Sam and James to be totally opposite from each other!  I'm really excited about the future of this book.  Hopefully you guys will like it! 😁
