The way he looks at her^^^

The next morning Danny made breakfast before they left for church.

"You love eggs, don't you, Gray?" James smiles at him from across the table.

"Yeah! Yummy!"

They can't help but laugh at his cuteness.

Danny smiles and rubs his back, then leans over and kisses his head.

"Dada!" Grayson smiles and reaches for him.

"Dada?" Sam asks and all the boys look at Jessica.

"Yeah.. Last night Grayson asked Danny if he would be his daddy too.." Jessica reaches over and holds Grayson's hand.

"Awe.. Well that's good. He needs someone to call dad." James says.

"Is that gonna confuse him? I mean, what about his real dad?" Sam asks.

"Grayson will grow up knowing that he has two fathers. His birth father in Heaven and his father that will raise him.
He's a little boy, and he wants a daddy. He needs one.
Yesterday he was sitting with me watching you boys decorate the tree.. Zach called Danny and he was just watching them.. He asked if his daddy was coming back.. My heart breaks everyday for him.  He wants his father.. He doesn't know any better and that makes me feel horrible for him. 
He's lucky to have Daniel."

"I was just asking.  I just don't want dad to be erased."

"Sam, I won't let that happen.  Your father will always be an important part of Grayson's life."

"Thanks Danny." Samuel nods.

"Dat daddy danny!" Grayson points to him and smiles.

Jessica smiles and kisses Grayson's cheek.

"Dis my mama and dada!"

The boys saw the happiness in their little brothers eyes and it made it all okay.

"You okay?" Jessica asks Michael who has tears in his eyes.

"Yeah.." He smiles.

"He looks so happy."

"I know.." Jessica says as they stare at Grayson with a smile on his face.

"Alright, my little man is ready for church!  My big boys are ready!  My man is ready-"

"And my hot mama's ready!" Danny smirks.

Jessica smiles at him coyly, and Michael makes a face.

"Ew!"

Jessica laughs and asks, "Danny, you have Sarah's gift?  Her birthday lunch is right after mass."

"Yep!  Got it."

"Great!  Let's head out."

"Happy Birthday, Sarah!" Jessica hugs her.

"Thank you, Jess!"

"Happy Birthday." Danny smiles walking up with Grayson.

"Thanks!
Hey Grayson!"

"Hi!" He smiles and waves.

"Say Happy Birthday, Sarah!"

"Nuh-uh!" He nods with a smile.

"Hey that's not nice, you booty!" Jessica chuckles.

"Oh it's okay, just give me a kiss!"

"No!" Grayson laughs and turns his head.

"Why are you treating Sarah like this on her birthday?!" Jessica asks.

"You're gonna make me cry!" Sarah play with him.

He slowly turns his head towards her and sees her fake pout.

He starts cracking up.

"Grayson! You are such a mess!" Sarah laughs and tickles him.

After church was over everyone went to Sarah's favorite restaurant to celebrate her birthday.

"Dada!"

"What's up Gray?" Danny looks to him.

"Ook!" He tells him to look as he grabs a handful of rice and drops it on Danny's lap.

"Grayson George Shepard!" Jessica grabs his hand and wipes away the rice that was still stuck on his hand.

Grayson pouts and starts crying.

"Jess, don't get after him, he didn't mean to do anything bad."

"He's making a mess, Daniel!"

"Yeah but he just wanted to show me his rice."

Sarah chuckles and Jessica looks at her.

"He gets away with so much with this man!"

"Well Grayson's my buddy!" Danny smiles and rubs Grayson's back.

Jessica nods her head and chuckles.

"Well still! Making a mess is a no no, Gray." She points her finger at him.

Grayson looks at Jessica and narrows his brows at her.

"He did not like that!" Jane laughs.

"I know!"

"Mommy ruined your fun, huh, Grayson?"

Grayson looks at his grandmother and smiles.

"That smile gets me every time!"

"I know! It's Sam's face, isn't it?"

"Exactly! It's amazing!"

"Mommy my dipey is yucky!"

Jessica chuckles and says, "Oh Now we're friends?"

"Mamaaaa!" He smiles and tilts his head.

"Heh! Okay I'll change you.
Danny, can you hand me the diaper bag, please?"

"I'll change him, you just enjoy yourself."

"Thanks baby." Jessica smiles softly.

"He's so good, Jess." Sarah says.

"I know!"

"So I'm just gonna ask!"

"What?"

"When are you two getting married?"

"Oh gosh!" Jessica laughs.

"I'm serious! Oh and..
Did I hear Grayson call him daddy?" She whispers that last part.

Jessica smiles and nods.

"Mhm!"

"Awe that's sweet."

"I know.. He's so great with him."

"So when's the wedding?"

"Well Danny and I have talked about it, but I don't think it'll happen for a long time."

"Awe but why?!"

"I just don't think it's any time soon.. He hasn't even officially asked me!"

"Well that's okay I guess.." Jessica laughs and rolls her eyes.

Christmas Eve.

"Daddy and I are gonna take you to see Santa today!"

"Yay!"

"Yeah!" Jessica smiles.

"Daniel, I hate that we're just now taking him, it's gonna be so crowded!"

"I know. But it'll be okay.. Hopefully it's not too bad."

"Santa!  Santa!  Santa!"

"Haha!  We're going, baby!"

"Oh Grayson, you were such a big boy through that long line!  Thank you so much for being so good!"

Grayson smiles at Jessica.

"And you have such a handsome smile with Santa!"

"I good?"

"Very good, Grayson!" She giggles.

"Yay!  I good!"

Before they leave they stop to eat at one of the restaurants at the mall.

"The other day Sarah was bugging me about us getting married!"

"Really?  Hah!  She's crazy!
What did you tell her?  That we're not planning on it for a long long time, right?"

"Well yeah.  I told her I didn't think it would be for a while."

"Yeah I mean we still have a while to do all that!"

"Yeah.. I guess that's true."

Jessica felt a little hurt that Danny wanted to wait so long before getting married, but she decided to just drop it.

Later that night while Jessica was taking a shower Danny had something very important to talk to the boys about.

"Boys, I wanted to talk to you while your mom is showering."

"Everything okay?" Sam asks.

"Yeah!" He smiles and pulls out a ring.

"Danny.. Are you asking me to marry you?"

"Sam! *Chuckles* I'm asking your mom tomorrow morning!"

"Alright!  Christmas morning?  What could be better?" James smiles.

"Thanks!  I'm so nervous!"

"Why?  She'll say yes!  And oh my gosh, this ring must cost more than our house!"

Danny laughs and says, "I'm just nervous.  I want everything to be perfect!
I chose Christmas morning because I wanted all of our boys there and no one else.. Just our little family.  I want you guys to be apart of this whole thing."

"Thanks coach!" Michael smiles.

"You guys, I have to that something." Zach says.

"My dad has always been a great father to me, and he's worked hard to give me everything I need.. But there was always something there.. Or something missing, I guess I should say.  There was always a sadness to him.
I have to say that I've never seen him so happy and full of life since he's met your mom."

"Wow.  That's really great.  Thank you for treating her so well, Danny." James says.

"I love her.  She's my best friend." Danny looks down and smiles softly with love in his eyes.

The boys smile and Danny clears his throat and takes himself out of a Jessica trance he was quickly slipping into.

"Do you guys mind if I practice what I'm gonna say?  I don't want it to sound stupid."

"Sure!  Give it to us." Sam says sitting down on the couch.

Danny goes through his whole speech and the boys were speechless.

"Wow.. Can I marry you, Danny?" Sam jokes.

"It's good?"

"It's amazing!"

Danny was on his knee and holding Sam's hand, pretending he was Jessica.

"What's amazing?  And what the hell is going on in here?"

"Hey!" Danny quickly stands up.

"What are you doing?" Jessica laughs.

"Just uh.. Guy stuff."

"Guy stuff?  Well alright.
You boys get to bed, or Santa won't come."

"Mom." James chuckles.

"Come on, Danny and I have to play Santa tonight, go to bed!"

"Alright!  Goodnight."

"Goodnight baby."

Danny pours two glasses of wine, and hands one to Jessica.

"Thanks honey."

Jessica walks over to the older boys "Santa gifts" and says, "Daniel, I can't believe you talked me into buying the boys hoverboards.  I swear if someone gets hurt, I'm gonna slap you!"

"They'll be fine, babe." He chuckles.

Jessica sips her wine then looks down at the hoverboard.

"Help me on this thing, I wanna try it!"

"Are you serious?"

"Yes!"

"You're crazy!" He laughs and helps her on it.

"Okay.. Don't let go of my hands!" She says loudly.

"I've got you!"

"Okay.. Okay..
Now what?"

"I don't know, I've never gotten on one before!"

"What?!  How do I do this!" She laughs.

Jessica makes the slights move and falls forward on Danny.

"Ahh!"

"I've got you!" He cracks up laughing as he holds her in his arms.

"Oh my gosh!  I'm never doing that again!"

"You're such so cute!"

Jessica smiles and kisses his lips.

"Hey babe, open up those remote control cars." Jessica says sitting on the couch as Danny does all the "Santa" work.

"Why?"

"I wanna race you!" She smiles cutely.

"Oh you do?"

"Yes!  I'm gonna beat your ass!"

"Oh yeah?  Well you're on, little missy!"

Jessica giggles and sets her glass down on the coffee table.

She runs over to Danny and they get ready to race.

..

"What?!  No!  You just hit my little car!  That's not fair!" Jessica yells.

"Oh don't be mad just because I'm winning!"

"Winning?  Hah!  We'll see about that, you LOSER!!"

"I won!  I won!
Ahh.. Sucks to suck, doesn't it, Danny?"

"Only cause you cheated!"

"Yeah?"

"Yeah!"

"Yeah?"

"YEAH!!" Danny grabs her tightly and kisses her as she giggles into his lips.

Jessica stop laughing and kisses him passionately.

Danny breaks the kiss and leans his head forward so that their foreheads are touching.

"I didn't cheat." Jessica says in a cute and low voice.

"Okay.
I don't believe you." He says making her laugh.

"That's not nice, mister!"

Christmas morning.

"Merry Christmas, my love." Danny smiles.

"Merry Christmas, Daniel." Jessica smiles and wraps her arms around him for a kiss.

They go to Grayson room and he's already up.

"Hey buddy!  Merry Christmas, little man!" Jessica smiles and takes him out of his crib.

"Merry Christmas, bud!  Do you wanna see if Santa came?" Danny smiles.

"Yeah!" Grayson kicks his legs and hits his hands on Jessica.

"Yeah?  Let's go!" He chuckles.

"I think Grayson is more interested in the bows than he is his presents." Jessica laughs at Grayson who is covered in Christmas bows.

"I think so!" Danny laughs.

..

"Oh boys, thank you so much for all these presents!  You didn't have to do this!"

"We wanted to!  You deserve it, mom!" Michael smiles.

"Awe boys!" Jessica sits up on her knees and crawls over to hug each of them.

"I'll give you my gift later today, Jessie." Zachary smiles.

"Awe, okay.  Well I'll still hug you!"

He laughs and gives her a hug.

"Zachary, you didn't need to buy me anything!"

"It's fine, Jessie." He smiles.

"You're so sweet!" Jessica squeezes his cheeks.

"Oh there's one more!" Danny says digging under the tree for the last gift.

"Who's is this?
Oh it's mommy's!  Grayson, can you hand this to mommy, please?"

Grayson smiles and takes the present form him.

Before he hands it to her he takes the bow off of it and sticks it on his head, then laughs.

"You're such a silly boy!" Jessica giggles.

He gives it to her and she smiles.

"Thanks baby!
Who is this from?"

"It didn't say.  Boys?" Danny looks at them.

They all shrug their shoulders.

"Well let's see."

Jessica struggles to open the box, then when she finally gets it open, she sighs.

"Well that took forever! 
What is this?  Another box!  Haha!  This must be from Daniel!" She laughs.

"Just open it." Danny smiles.

Jessica looks at him and smirks.

"What is this?  Is this just a joke?"

"Well open it and find out, woman!"

"Okay!" Jessica laughs.

..

"Daniel!  Another box?  Were you bored?!"

"Just a little!" He smiles and scoots closer to her as she finally gets to the last box.

"My hands are gonna be raw from all this struggling with tape!"

"Trust me, this will make those pretty little hands feel better."

Jessica smiles and crinkles her nose.

Finally she pulls out a small velvet box.

"Awe!  What's this?"

Danny takes it from her and gets on one knee.

Jessica's eyes immediately go wide and she gasps.

"What?
What are you doing?"

Danny chuckles and says, "Jessica.  From the moment I met you, I fell in love.  Not only are you the most beautiful woman on this earth, you have the kindest and most gentle heart.  You are the best mother to the boys, and just a fun person to be around.  We've both been at the lowest of lows and now I want to take you higher than we've ever imagined.  You are my best friend, and my other half.  Will you please do my the honor and make me the happiest man alive?  Jessica, my love.. Will you marry me?"

Jessica smiles with tears running down her face.

Without saying anything, she nods her head 

"Yes?!" Danny's eyes light up.

"Yes!  Yes I'll marry you!"

"Woo!" Danny smiles big and slips the ring on her finger.

Jessica let's out a loud cry and quickly hugs him tight.

"Oh Danny, I love you so much!"

"I love you too, baby." He smiles and holds her in his arms.

"Thank you so much!"

"Thank YOU!
You complete me, Jessica."

Jessica holds his cheeks and looks into his eyes.

"I can't believe this right now.
We're getting married!" She smiles.

"That's right, baby girl!"

"Ahh!"

"I know!"

Jessica laughs and kisses his lips again.

The boys clap and Jessica pulls away and looks at them.

"Oh my boys!  Did you guys know?"

"Yeah, for a while!" Sam smiles.

"I had to ask all the boys plus your dad and brother for your hand in marriage."

"Awe you asked them all?!  Daniel, you are the sweetest!"

Danny smiles, then grabs her waist and says, You said yes!!  We're getting married!!!"

"WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!!!" She yells before hugging him tightly.

"WOO!" Grayson shouts and claps his hands.

Jessica and Danny both laugh.

Jessica wipes her tears and Grayson says, "No sad, mommy."

"Mommy's not sad, baby.
Mommy is so so happy." She smiles.

"Yay mommy!" He lifts his hands.

Jessica chuckles and Danny pulls her in for another hug.

"I love you so much."

"I love you too." She closes her eyes and rests her head on him.
