Jessica was upset that Danny lied to her, but she blew it off and tried to forget about it.  He was hurt, and he needed her.  She figured he would tell her when he's ready. 

Zachary was free to leave, so Angelica took him home with her, and Jessica stayed with Danny.

"Hey baby." She smiles.

"Hey.." He gives her a small smile with sleepy eyes.

"How do you feel?"

"Like an old man."

"Well you had a knee replacement!  Congratulations, you are old!"

"Heh, thanks." He smiles.

"I'm just messing with you.  Can I get you anything?"

"No baby, I'm okay.. Thanks."

"Daniel, do you remember anything that was said last night?"

"Do you want me to remember everything that was said last night?"

"What?" She laughs.

"Yes, yes I remember."

"I want you to know that I meant it."

"Good." He smiles.

"I don't want to get married right now, that's not what I'm saying.. It's just.. Daniel, I almost lost you!  When I heard that you weren't waking up.. I could have just died.  I love you so so much."

"I love you too, Jessie."

"I promise it'll happen one day."

"Well that makes me the happiest man on this entire planet."

Jessica smiles, then looks down and sighs.

"Okay, so now let's talk..

What are we gonna do with you?"

"What do you mean?"

"You need someone to take care of you!  I've decided that I'm going to move in with you for a week to help you out.  I'll be your nurse." She smiles.

"Ooh!" Danny raises his eyebrow and smirks.

Jessica laughs and continues talking.

"I'm gonna leave my boys alone in my house for the whole week.. Yes, I'm an idiot!  Heh!  And Grayson and I are gonna be your roomies!" She smiles.

"Well I couldn't think of two cuter roommates!"

Jessica laughs and says, "I talked your doctor and they're gonna come in here soon to try to get you to walk."

"Already?!" His eyes widen.

"Well you need to be able to walk using a walker before you leave."

"When is that?"

"Later today."

"What?!  I thought I had another two or three days of this place!"

"Nope!" Jessica smiles.

"Oh!  Well alright then."

"You'll do great, baby!"

A nurse and a therapist came in to try to get Danny to walk.

Jessica held one of his hands to help him up.

"Owe!"

"It's okay, baby.  Just go slow, there's no rush."

Danny holds on tightly to the walker and makes a painful noise.

Jessica rubs his back and never leaves his side.

"Oh it hurts so bad!"

"I'm sorry, honey.  You're doing great though."

Danny walks down the hall, and back to his room.

"That was horrible!" He sighs.

"Awe baby, I'm sorry." Jessica pouts.

"At least you get to go home today."

"Yeah.."

I'm gonna take you home, get you all situated, start dinner, then go pick Grayson up.

"What are you gonna do about your other boys?  I feel bad that you're leaving them alone for a week."

"Danny, they're nineteen and almost sixteen, they'll be fine."

"Well still, I wish I wasn't such a bother."

"Oh you could never be a bother!" Jessica squeezes his cheeks and baby talks to him.

"You're hurting me, Jessica!"

"Opps, sorry!"

Jessica stands there inspecting his face.

"Danny, I feel so bad.. You're all.. Broken."

"Heh!  Nothing can ever break me, pretty girl." He smiles and gently pinches her cheek.

"I am worried though.  Poor Grayson is gonna be terrified of me!"

"Awe, I'm sure he'll be fine."

Jessica drove Danny home and helped him in the house.

"Honey, I don't think I can get you can get up the stairs by myself.  Why don't you park it down here and I'll call the boys to help me get you up to your room?"

"No!" Danny says with a grouchy face.

"Ohhh!  Somebody's being mister grumpy pants!" Jessica says in a cute voice.

"I hate this!"

"Honey, at least you're okay.  I know you're in pain, and I hate it too, but baby.. I have you and that's all that matters. You're still here with us, so you have to be thankful for that."

"I am thankful, but I'm also in pain." He says with a straight face.

Jessica looks at her watch and says, "Well it is medicine time.  I'll grab you some water."

Jessica set up a table beside the couch, and brought him a pillow and blanket. He just decided to stay there down there.

"Honey, I feel like you're not comfortable down here.  Are you sure you don't want me to call the boys?"

"I'm sure.  It'll be easier on you because you won't have to keep running up and down the stairs... Besides, I already ruined the boys birthday, I'm not gonna call them and be like, Oh I'm stuck, can you come lift my ass and take me upstairs?" He says in a funny voice.

"Heh!  Awe Danny, they won't mind!"

"No, it's fine.  Really!  I mean, what if there was a fire?  HellOo!  I'd be toast!"

"I see your point." Jessica nods with a small smile on her face, and she stands there with her arms crossed.

"Are you hungry?"

"Yessss."

Jessica took a deep breath in and walked to the kitchen.

Danny's attitude was already starting to bother her. 

"He's in pain, Jessica, he's in pain." She whispered to herself.

She made him a quick lunch and soon got started on dinner.

*Phone rings*

"Hello?"

"Do you want us to go drop Grayson off with you?" Sam asks.

"Heh, why?  Is he bothering you?"

"No but we have plans.  Do you want us to bring him to you?"

"No, stay there and I'll be there soon.  I have to grab his things and I need to pack myself some clothes."

"Okay.  About how long will you be?"

"Goodness Sam!  Just wait till I get there!  Jesus Christ!"

"Sorry!  How's Danny?"

"He's in a lot of pain right now.  Oh and he feels bad about ruining your birthday."

"He didn't ruin our birthday."

"I told him that, but he still wants to make it up to you."

"Well I could use a new car!"

"Goodbye Samuel!"

"Bye!" He laughs.

Jessica hangs up and sighs.

"Okay, just one more thing and I can go get Grayson.. Let's see-"

"Jessica!"

"Yes?" Jessica shouts from the kitchen to the living room.

"Can you bring me some more water, please?"

"Sure baby, just one second!"

Jessica gets the glass of water and brings it to him.

"I don't like that cup!" He whines.

"Well tough!!"

Danny's eyes widen and Jessica huffs.

"I'm sorry.  I need to go get Grayson and I have food on the stove, but I should be back soon."

"Alright." Danny looks down like he wants some attention, but Jessica doesn't have time for that right now.

She rolls her eyes and lets out a huff.

"I'll be back."

She grabbed her purse and left.

Danny looks at the door and pouts.

"She didn't even kiss me goodbye!"

"I'm sorry baby, I forgot!" Jessica walks back in and kisses his lips.

"There it is!" He smiles.

Jessica laughs and says, "Call me if you need anything.  Don't get up!"

"Yes."

"I mean it!  Do not get up!" She points her finger to him.

"I knoooow!" He says in a slightly irritated tone.

"Oh thank God!  Look, there's mommy!" Sam smiles and hands Jessica the baby.

"Mama!" He hugs her and lays on her shoulder.

"Baby!" Jessica says cutely.

"Caroline?!" Jessica says shocked to see her.

"Hi Ms. Shepard!" She smiles and waves.

"Did you spend the night here?  Boys, what are the rules?  Do I have to get your grandmother to come over here and babysit you three?"

"Mom, we didn't do anything!" James says.

"Yeah Ms. Shepard, we promise!  We just stayed up all night eating junk food and playing Xbox."

"Well I guess I believe you.. If it was Sam, not a chance!  But I believe you.

Just don't do it again!  Accidents happen!"

"Hah!  What is his dick just gonna accidentally fall into her or what?" Sam jokes.

"Sam!" James yells.

Jessica let's it slide right off her back.

"Yes that does happen, that's how you and your brother got here." She says very nonchalant.

"Oh God, mom!" Sam makes a face.

"Well then Stop it!"

The twins and Caroline leave, and Jessica gets hers and Grayson's things ready.

"Mom, I'm hanging out with Derrick, then I wanted to see Zach and coach."

"Okay.  Are you spending the night?"

"Can I?"

"Sure."

"Okay thanks!"

Jessica laughs and says, I'll be there too!  It's gonna be one big party!"

"Oh god.."

She chuckles and playfully pushes his head.

"Okay Grayson, mommy has to talk to you.

We're going to see Danny, but-"

"Yay Danny!" He bounces and claps his hands.

"Yeah Danny!  But listen!

Danny had an accident and he has lots of bo bo's on his face.  He looks a little different, but it's still Danny!  He's still a nice guy, okay?"

"Okay mama."

Jessica smiles and kisses his head.

"Danny!  Daaany!  DANNYYYYY!!" Grayson sings on the way to his house.

Jessica giggles quietly and at a light she starts recording him on her phone.

"You sing so beautifully, baby!"

"Yes!  Daaaaanyyyyyy!"

"You are too much!" She laughs.

"Honey, we're home!" Jessica says shutting the door.

"Hey!  Grayson, what's up, buddy?"

"Danny!" He turns to him and Jessica walks closer to Danny.

He holds his arms out to grab him, but Grayson's expression quickly changes.

His eyes widen and his smile fades.

"It's still me, Gray.  Don't be scared."

"Ahh!" Grayson faces Jessica and grabs her shirt as he tries crawling up her body.

"What in the world are you doing, boy?  It's Danny!"

"Not Danny!  Not Danny!"

"Yes that is Danny!"

"No!"

He cries and Danny sighs.

"I hate this!" He whines.

"Oh it's okay, honey!  He just doesn't know any better."

"I know, but I just want to hold him, and talk to him.  I haven't seen him since we went to lunch the other day.." Danny looks down.

"Awe baby!" Jessica pouts.

"Grayson, that's Danny!  He's just hurt, remember?"

Grayson gives Danny a side eye.

"Heh! He looks just like Sam, but with that side eye and that pout he looks just like you."

Jessica laughs and kisses his head.

"Smile! Be nice, baby." She pats his thigh.

"Not Danny!" He points his finger at him.

"Yes it is!"

"Dat?  Dat?" He looks at Jessica and points to his nose.

"Danny has a boo boo there.  That stuff is just there to make it all better!"

"Mm.." He looks back at Danny with a pout and his eyebrows lowered.

"Not Danny." Grayson mumbles.

"Oh goodness!"

Grayson was terrified of Danny, so he stayed with Jessica and followed her everywhere she went.

"Mama dis!" He says opening Danny's cabinets and taking pots and pans out.

"Grayson no!" Jessica walks over to him, and he laughs.

"No mama, no!" He climbs into the cabinet and grabs a small pot that was beside him and sticks it on his head.

"Grayson!" Jessica laughs.

"You are such a mess!"

"Mama go!" He puckers his lips and points a wooden spoon to her.

"Gray, stop it!" She tries holding her laughter in.

"Get out of there."

"No!"

"Grayson, mommy's gonna give you a pow pow."

"What dat?"

"Stay in there and I'll show you!"

"Get out, Grayson!" Danny shouts from the living room.

"Not Danny!  Not Danny!"

"Oh my goodness!  Get out of here." Jessica grabs his foot and pulls him out.

"Hi mama!" He smiles.

"Hello." She laughs.

Jessica takes the bowl off of his head, and grabs the spoon.

"You are going in the playpen little boy!"

"No!  No!" He fusses and tries getting out of her hold.

"Stop it, you're gonna fall!"

Jessica sits him in the playpen and huffs.

"He's not a baby anymore!  He's slowly turning into a toddler.."

"In four months he'll be in the terrible two's!" Danny says.

"Oh gosh!  My boys were all so bad at two.. I mean TERRIBLE!"

"Heh!  Getting excited?"

"Nope!" She smiles and nods her head.

"Do you need anything?"

"No baby, I'm good.  Thanks."

Jessica walks to the kitchen and Grayson screams.

"What?!"

"Mama!  Not Danny!"

"Oh my goodness Grayson, you are really bothering me tonight!"

Danny laughs and Jessica tries walking away but he screams bloody murder.

"Grayson!  Here, play with mommy's iPad."

He smiles and snatches it from her.

He presses the button and Jessica puts her password in.

"See dada!  See dada!" He bounces up and down.

"You wanna see your daddy?"

"Yes!"

"Okay, there he is.  Now sit down and be quiet!"

He smiles and Jessica looks up and sighs, "Thank you Sam!"

Grayson was now occupied, so Jessica went back to the kitchen.

Angelica came over and dropped Zach off a little before dinner.

"Hey sweetie, how do you feel?"

"A little sore, but I feel okay."

"Good!  Dinner is almost ready so go wash up, okay?"

"Yes ma'am."

Jessica smiles and turns to Angelica.

"Would you like to stay for dinner?"

"Oh no, thank you though!  I have to get back to my kids.  Thank you for taking care of them."

"Oh it's not a problem!  I'm so glad we finally met." Jessica smiles.

"Me too!  You guys take care.  Daniel, don't work her too hard."

"Alright!" He chuckles.

Zach comes down and watches tv with Danny.

"Oh I forgot!  Michael's coming over and staying the night, I hope that's okay."

"Yeah that's fine."

"He's coming over?  Awesome!" Zachary smiles.

Michael gets there in time for dinner, and they all eat in the living room around Danny.

"I think tomorrow I'm gonna take Gray over to my mother in law's.  He's becoming such a little handful!"

"No!" Grayson looks at Jessica and makes a face.

"Yes you are!  You're a crazy baby!"

"No!" He nods.

"Yes!"

"No.." Grayson says quietly.

"He just wants to have the last word, doesn't he?" Danny laughs.

"Yes!  Grayson, what is up with you today?"

Grayson babbles and Jessica narrows her eyes on him.

"I don't know what you just said, but yep!"

They all laugh and Jessica says, "Tomorrow we work your leg, Mr. Huston.  You're getting up those stairs tomorrow!"

"Nooo!" Danny whines.

"You're as bad as Grayson!  Yes you are!  You're going to do what I say!"

"But it hurts!"

"Well I'm sorry but you have to push through it!"

"Okay.." He mopes.

The next morning Jessica helped Danny to the bathroom so he could wash up.

"I'm gonna need to give you a sponge bath later, you smelly boy!"

"Ooh!  That's exciting!" He smiles.

"Just pee, Daniel!" Jessica rolls her eyes.

"Okay but go."

"What?"

"I'm not peeing in front of you."

"Oh are we not there yet?" Jessica chuckles.

"No."

"Oh my gosh!  We have sex and you can't pee in front of me?"

"No I cannot!  Goodbye now."

"Fine!  Just let me know if you need a hand." She gives him a cheeky look.

"Ha Ha, you're cute now go, I'm about to piss myself!"

"Okay!" She laughs and leaves him.

"Okay baby, I'm gonna go take Grayson to Jane's, do you need anything?"

"No I'm okay, thanks.

Bye Grayson, I love you!"

"No love!  No love!" He nods and waves his hand.

Jessica laughs and says, "Grayson!  That's not nice!"

"Awe Grayson, you're gonna make me cry!" Danny pouts.

"Oh no Gray!  You made him sad!  Look, he's crying!"

"I am!  You hurt my feelings, Gray!" Danny fake cries.

"Say you're sorry."

"No." Grayson nods.

"No! Say sorry!"

Grayson looks at her, then looks to Danny.

"Sa.."

"I think that was him saying sorry." Jessica chuckles.

"But seriously, what has gotten into him?!"

"I don't know, I don't know this Grayson." Danny says.

"Right?!"

"No cwy!" He points to Danny and looks at Jessica.

"Yes he is crying! Aren't you, Danny?" Jessica gives him a look.

"Yes I am!" Danny covers his face and fake sobs.

"No! No cwyyyy!" Grayson whines.

"Give him kissies if you want him to stop crying."

"Dis." He pokes his nose.

"You're not gonna kiss his owie, you're gonna kiss his cheek."

Jessica brings him to Danny's face and Grayson slowly moves closer.

He kisses his cheek and says, "No Danny!"

"Grayson, that is Danny!" Jessica laughs.

"No!" He nods.

"Yes!"

"NOOO!"

"Oh my gosh you're stubborn!"

Grayson looks down and pauses, then lifts his eyes to look at Jessica.

"No.." He says with pouted lips.

"Alright, off to grandma's!" Jessica grabs the diaper bag and leaves.
